Videogame MIDI Remix Competition (Week ONE)

Ey Becoolioman can we use the (main) midi as one track and play around with loops?
If so I'm in - been dying to have some reason to bust out my ACID pro

you can do whatever you want. The song I picked is a base song. Its up to you to actually make it a song. As long as the MIDI is in the song, whether edited or not, its okay. I need to be able to reconize that the MIDI is there though. So when you edit it, make sure its reconizable.

Also don't forget that your final product has to be a MIDI, so all your loops will do you no good in this case, I think.

@_@ This MIDI seems a little simple to me... But I guess it's whatever becoolioman wants. I do request, however, that the next song be a bit longer/more complicated.

Of course, I decided to do something basic, as this could be taken in multiple directions. If I do another competition, I'll do something more advance.

eh, this seems a little bit too simple and boring imo, i was hoping for a little more substance.

its "here take this one measure loop with 5 notes and make a song based off of it"

so basically, we're just writing an original song and putting a little splash of DK in it somewhere, not really a "remix" at all.

but whatever, ill see what i can do with it. really not happy with the midi chosen for this.


i have some fist pumping 8bit thrash metal in the works tho

Well anyway I hope I find how to increase the tempo of a single track in ACID Pro on time...

yeah its about half done now, and ill have to say, this was quite easy to turn into something awesome, i basically used the 5 notes as my progression, for the thrashy rhythm section, wrote some other stuff to make it less monotonous (the rhythm), writing a bunch of punchy leads and thrash/death metal drumming and calling it good.

just for your information the title of my remix is "Death by Hammer" nobody steal that shit
