Undeniably Sexy: A Thief's Tale

Who realy cares that much about the way it looks its not bad at all, it made me laugh and its fun I don't know why everyone is criticizing it so much, Great job man!

I agree..grab UO Inside (or Inside UO can't remember) and you can pull all the datafiles (graphics) directly from the game...course..I guess you are aleady doing that..lol..

I have played a bit of the demo and I actually enjoy it quite a bit..makes me laugh and brings some nostalgia up..very cool.

^With more customization, I would suggest getting RunUO and building a few character to use as sprites. Then maybe build a few houses, etc.

I think if you used it right, using UO tiles could work fine.

Anyone wanna play UO with me? D:

Played for 6-ish years before I was finally drove off...man that game was fun..spent all of my time on it (Sadly) back then..hehe..my friends still try to get me to come back, but just don't have time anymore..plus it just sucks compared to what it once was.

Yeah...sadly EA stepped in and ruined it when they made Age of Shadows. But there's tons of free servers that are Pre AOS.

Wow... I haven't visited these forums in a couple months. Development on the game has been put on hold. I'm just so busy right now.

So... a couple people have played it after all. :thumb:

I do intend to finish it and I will pick the game up later (I have in the past). As of now, it stands at 30% complete and 6 hours long.

i have 2 complaints, sorry but here they are.

1 I feel that the little men you have as face sets are REALLY bad,

2 The dialog seems really cheesy like you are trying to hard to make it sound like a rpg

but anyway thats just me

good luck :)

1. Hm... I don't think they look that bad. Over the past 1+ year I've received a lot of complaints and tips to make it better and you're actually the first to point this particular thing out. But like much of the game there are a lot of times where I could choose "something better" versus choosing "something from Ultima Online." Most of the time I choose UO. The constructive criticism is welcome, but I doubt I'll change it. :*)

2. It is very cheesy. ;)

I would disagree and say that I'm trying very hard to make it not sound like every other rpg out there. If my way of attempting that is to up the "cheese" factor, so be it. :thumb:

If anything... I'd be happy with an, "At least it's different..." response:

"At least it's different and I don't like it."
"At least it's different and I enjoyed it."

Either way, I'll take that response and it is expected.

Hm, I've played more of this game recently. It is actually pretty good (still not worthy of an M rating but whatever). As an Ultima fan I like all of the references and the feel of a western RPG that you tried to recreate. Personally I would try to use UO rips to replace the tilesets and even the sprites completely, but that might be too much effort.

I'll think about it. This seems to be the biggest complaint. I really don't want to just because I like those pudgy little guys.

I still think this complaint comes solely from people who are familiar with RMXP and have played many-a-game. To them, it stands out like a sore thumb. To everyone else, they're just pudgy little guys roaming around a sightly higher detailed world.

got trapped twice, if ya decide to return to south luna, ya wind up stuck between the tent and the fence everytime....
the log split in half when it rolled (he,he really weird) and everything froze, but so far all the saves work fine, and I can start back where I saved and dodge these strange traps ya set ;)

nice game, not a damn thing wrong with the graphics, people must have some preconcieved notions, I have never seen the 'UO' being mentioned repeatedly, and I assure you the contrast is good, the proportions are good, everything looks great.....what do they want, someone else's game? Please don't work your butt off to please a few, critics have the biggest mouths, and just to balance things, I really like your style. I would not have chosen the facesets you used myself, but this is not a big issue, ultimately the game is yours......and it is fun! gonna play with it somemore....

'nother split log, this'un didn't hold me up tho, happened pushing it back after collecting the blank scrolls...

Thanks for playing.

(Although the full game won't be done for a very, very, long time.)

How far along are you? If I had to take a guess, you're in the swamp or have just completed the swamp. Because if you were further, you'd find a lot more bugs. haha. (Most of them priority and clipping bugs.)

The log will be a little more tricky. I'm sure it's not impossible.

The faces?

Another common complaint. I'll take a look at what else I can use. But there really isn't anything in game (Ultima Online). If I changed them, they'd have to be something new entirely.

he, he, not complainin', havin' fun!!.....everyone's taste is different, there is nothin' wrong with any of your choices, I make my own stuff quite often, and of course it is much better than anyone else's (major bragadociousness) or I wouldn't bother to do it.
here is a sheep on the roof in dainty town lol:

seriously your game is great, runs smoothly, very entertaining, original storyline, these are the only bugs I've encountered (3) so far.

well, now I am lost in Dainty Land, tried to pick all their pockets, nothin' is goin' on here, but I can't leave the town? the walkthrough isn't finished for here, is it? can't find a clue what to do now.....and the dormers are on the wrong sides of the front house:

First talk to the Dainty Bard that's blocking the stairs in the building on the left. After you talk to him the mayor (or whatever title I get him) will be inside the building at the top. He'll invite you to join in with the nightly sword fighting and to stay the night....

Then you'll wait up in the middle of the night with TheOneEyedJack missing. With a little investigation up the stairs (that was previously blocked) and looking out the window, you'll notice something going on behind the building. (You don't actually have to go up the stairs and find these clues.) Go behind the buildings along the fencing and check out the well...

A little cut scene will take place and this time you'll get control of Special SixtyNyn. Nothing special. Take her to the well, watch a few cut scenes, and begin the next leg of the journey.

but I don't know why I didn't find it before, spoke with the pants guy at the stairs right away, and looked thro the empty house 3 times, hmmmmm wonder why Excelsior guy wasn't there until now....

ha,ha, do ya ever wonder if these folks who keep BS'n your perfectly good graphics are even playing the game?
.....
real survival:
how do ya cure rabies? been eatin' by cannibals 4 times already, might make it 'cept for the dreaded rabid bite, which seems incurable, and might as well just kill off the bitten party immediately.....? gonna go fish until I get an answer....ok got some better armor, poisoned the shirks...finally won with just Chad left standing gulping healing potions, ya!!
dead, all dead.....now I'm stuck lookin' at a very big butt in front of Dungeon Deceit....callin' it a night, Bubba won't budge...

http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6646/amusassgz3.png[/IMG]

here's some of my original stuff, nothin' ripped, 'cept the grass & water, I got one comment that I have to redo the grass now, 'cause it is not green enough to match the lotus leaves.....*sigh*
and about yer title: yer game is raunchy, *giggle* not sexy, from a female perspective, there is not enough romance for true sexiness......

Wow. You actually played through all of it. :thumb:

That's pretty much the end. There's an event at one of the doors in the dungeons stating that you've gotten to the end (so far). You can wander a little, find some items, and take a look at the dungeon, but it's really not complete. It once ended right at the end of Act I, but I wanted to show off the Fishing System. (It's also good to know that all the events in the Ice Fisher's Village fall into place. I've done some testing, but not a lot.)

I should really add an "end event" earlier. Or maybe add a little note stating:

"Dungeon Deceit is under construction. Enter at your own risk. Please check UOThief.com for further updates to Undeniably Sexy: A Thief's Tale. Thanks for playing."

Or something like that.

(I may get some free time over the winter break. But don't expect any significant work to be done until the summer. And don't expect the complete game to be done within the next year or two. Apologies.)

I agree. :D

Now... The questionnaire that I ask everyone:

1) What part of the game did you like the least?
2) What part of the game was the most annoying?
3) What did you like the most?
4) What would you like to see more of?
5) What was the play time on your clock when you finished it?

1. gettin' lost in dainty town, where the only way out is a very obscure 'look out the upstairs window', need some more hints there, kinda doubt I woulda ever figured that out....& (one more) Baby Eatin' Ogre, I know guys think that is funny, but it is "OOOO GROSS!!" and I am the sprite police, I can arrest ya for doin' that to sprites (although yer not nearly the worst I've seen, birds peckin' corpses, perverted sex acts, all that crap, I hate it, yuck!), and the nut who thinks it shouldn't be rated 'M' is, well....a nut!
2. 112 items in my item menu! *whew* I like gettin' a lot of stuff, well I used to like gettin' a lot of stuff, ha,ha, but this is ridiculous lol! & I never found the bronze to build the golem...sure coulda used one against them cannibals..
3. the blacksmith runnin' around in a ball gown is hilarious, hiding the thief is big fun, and a great idea, can I steal it?
4. more outdoor maps, but you already have a game plan, and probably no place for them....the rest of the game of course, whenever ya get 'round to it...wanna know what that frog is doin'...!?
5.14.52.45, but I have 3 different saves, been playin' with different party members....I also make cookies, do the dishes and laundry, and talk online and on the phone with that timer still runnin'....so who knows?

and all of these comments are strictly personal opinions, not a professional critique.....no one is required to like or dislike the same things I do....
midnight Cinderella, go catch a pumpkin!

had your game on my laptop since spring...the dl I got from RPGXP message board wouldn't ever open....when I saw it in here, I got it again! have fun..

You're probably right about finding your way through Dainty Bardington. I think the upstairs window works but... there should be a few more clues to lead you in the right direction.

There are a couple places to find bronze. The first is in the quarry in Minoc. If you go down the ladder you'll find a pile of ore marking a place to mine nearby. You'll find a bronze vein. Others are... scattered. I should really keep track of this stuff. I know one is after you rescue the girl from the dragon, Jack enters and you follow him down the shaft. There's another pile of ore to the left that has bronze. I'm pretty sure there is also more bronze in some of the side-quest orc caves that you can only reach by finding those Treasure Maps on the walls.

Of course... you could always do it the hard way and mine about 400 hundred times to get enough mining skill to dig up Bronze from any mining location. But I put all the other bronze in so people wouldn't have to.

The only way to get rid of Rabies is to wait it out or use the Chivalry spell Remove Curse. I ramped up the difficulty at Act II just to even out the difficulty for people who have found every single artifact out there and maybe some of those who actually grinded out some of the skills (like magery).

For everyone else, they get access to fishing.

Still, they might be too tough.

I'm keepin' an eye out for the rest of it.....Dungeon Deceit is next, huh?
...and I forgot to say I liked riding the carts in the mines, and the dragon flying...I tend to like extra animated details most ('cept when it's gross), I think the potential for animation is overlooked in RMXP, and often limited to the usual walking around pressing the action key (or grossness)....sprites can do anything...i.e. the good lookin' thief takes a comb out of his pocket and runs it thru his hair whenever he sees a mirror...picks up a mug of ale off the counter, and drinks it, sets down empty mug, etc.
(Prof. Fizzwizzle breakdances, something I have got to try to steal)!
happy thanksgiving!
