Tyke template...think Snes.

Coyotecraft: Very nice, I never thought of uploading to the site but i will try that later on, maybe you guys can put yours up too.

Kururu: I like the first character the most, i like the ponytail and outfit, the second is good too but the back of his hair looks a bit weird to me, well i've saved these characters of yours and coyotes, good work again guys.

Malick: I love the floor, the walls need a dark outline on the bottom to separate it better from the floor tiles i think though.

I made this a little while back when i took a break from my tileset work, it's a diff looking tyke template, well slightly different i mainly changed the arms, legs and the walking frames, may be useful to some peeps.

Tyke 1 is the name.

kwl. But I dont like the fact the pallete has changed :(
I liked the other pallete. Without it, the template just, doesnt... look right.

The color can easily be changed, i can do it later on if someone doesn't before i do :)

How are you guys going about making a game with the tyke template? Are you using the script that bluescope has or are you using norm rmxp resolution?

The main reason i never attempted a tileset for tyke (also the main reason i stopped working on it) is because of the rmxp resolution, the characters can't get too close to objects and that turned me off, with the bluescope resolution script it was all good but it has no menu (no battle system also i think, well i don't know to much about the script though) and i would have to learn to make tilesets in a different way, if anyone is working with standard resolution and has it looking good let me know how you went about it please.

Although i don't like taking requests i like working on something that many would use.

Yeah there are quite a couple of characters for it heh, the topic is been around for a while i'm surprised you never saw it :)

I will post the temp with my original colors in a while then.

I'm still working on that brotha XD, almost have the first character complete and have the first frame for an npc and a female warrior, i decided to work quietly on full characters since after a while no one was giving me any feedback on the thread :/, if i started work on tyke stuff again it would be on the side most probably.
I would stop working on DoBoi (or anything else) if no one cared at all though, this is just a hobby so i will work on what others are more interested in in the end, that distance thing with tyke bothered me and that was the main reason i stopped but i also wanted to create some more temps to better myself and see if they would become as popular as tyke.

Here are the characters, store keeper npc, female warrior, male fighter, i have the front, side and back standing frames complete for the male fighter.

I think you should try making some poke style tilesets they would fit the characters a lot better imo, and it would not be hard either because you would not have to worry about textures really, the one that you are using now is too pixeled and bland it makes the characters stand out too much, hope you give the tileset making a chance i'm sure it will make your game look better.

I like the look of the females with the hats btw, especially the one to the right side of the pic :thumb:

And it's alright if it does. We all had to start somewhere, and the great art you see from many people is largely due to practice.

@ Kururu:

If you're looking for something that matches the size, RM2K chipsets are the perfect size. However, they're shaded differently. So, you'd either need to shade the tyke to match, or reshade the objects in the set.
