i wonder if people even listen to these
anyway could you leave a note or something
or an emoticon, if you did?

anyway here's a random sound effect:
http://bb.ohsk.net/uploads/Strings.mp3

i'm thinking about maybe making a set of sound effects
sound good to anyone?
i dont think the sound department, (apart from songs) is very original per game

what kind of theme should i do?

What in the.. These all sound good to me....
I mean, changing them for the better is always good, but i've been listening to them here for a while now, and theres some really amazingly good ones o_O

:fap: :fap: :fap:

ahahaha well it seems i have a fan..
don't give me too much credit though, else i won't be able to cope with the pressure of my next release
but seriously, thanks for the support ;D

That sounds cool, it's like a 8-bit game remixed.
After the 2:00 mark it does kinda get a tad random, though it does finish of quite well.

UPDATE

well, i've progressed into the realms of electronic music some more.
results from my soundcloud page:

http://soundcloud.com/toams/tomas-ohm-v2
3rd electro track in a short while - trying to keep to the electricity related names. Notice how this is v2, I fixed some small things that were bothering me. This one is more upbeat

http://soundcloud.com/toams/tomas-r
Electro track, a relaxed one this time, got inspired by Paul Kalkbrenner. Notice the crisp drums and the subdued melodies. The track never really takes off, but that wasnt the point in making.. ;)

http://soundcloud.com/toams/tomas-sub-suv
New track - more electro. ;D Also includes: cello, choirs, some biblical stuff, and thunder. Oh and a music box.

wow thanks for the feedback? ;)
those are all improvisations, and i often stop playing after i fuck up something so yeah
i could've taken those extra five minutes to edit it out, but meh
its kind of stylish ;D

Yeah, I figured something along those lines, but it's so so sad. *sniff*
Anyway Woqress, Subtile, and Piano2a are really catching pieces. I've listened to them all night.

May I suggest to upload all your tracks to sites where you could listen to them without having to download anything, otherwise some lazy people (like my filthy self) wouldn't be arsed to wait for download completion before listening.

oh, yeah im working on that, look at the soundcloud place.. ;)
though i figured a lot of people use google chrome, or have quicktime installed.
Both of those programs let you stream music from direct links..

thanks for the compliments though ;D

New track:

Tomas - Reación
More progressive, trance-y track this time. French title because i was in a french speaking country at the time.
wow I think I have a new thing for trance now, after listening to that and benny i'm really starting to fall for it, definetely i'll have to experiment around. pretty cool, in the beginning (i have no idea why) but I had a flashback of playing Godzilla for the NES when i was a kid???? then i just spaced out on it. does trance have that effect on you???? I'll try to check your other stuff out soon

I listened to this and thought, "Wow, this is pretty good." So then I listened to everything else and I definitely like your style. Everything feels like it has a deeper meaning, if that makes sense. Like they aren't just songs; they're representations of something. Which is something I don't get very often from instrumental music (not that I've heard a lot of it, but still :P). I dunno I just think your stuff is pretty cool. :3

;D

you do know that that melody was stolen from 'everytime we touch' by cascada, right?
i was just improvising and i happened to stumble upon something that reminded me of that, so i played around with it

and thanks ;D
i like your interpretation of the way i make music
while i don't try to implement a 'deeper meaning', i do try to compose it in a way that there's always something new to hear when you listen to it again and again (mainly because i don't want to get tired of it while constantly re-listening to it when composing it, but that's beside the point)
also i constantly try to break the mold and do stuff i've never heard before
although the music nowadays is so wide and varied that that's near-impossible

i'm still learning, and not yet on a level im satisfied with, but i keep improving
im thinking about going back to softer, more subtle songs instead of harsh electro
or maybe do a combination of the two
(something like this: http://bb.ohsk.net/uploads/Tomas%20-%20 ... s%20v1.mp3)
(btw that was inspired by the machinarium soundtrack which is awesome - and made by a dude named Tomas D:)

i've also been doing the composing for my
here's a tracklist so far
i dunno how many tracks i'll do, but i think 1 per two levels is quite fitting
of course the songs increase in intensity as you progress further into the game
also i might redo the title track, as it isnt epic enough
that said, i might even redo the whole title, and call it 'THE GRID' or something

http://bb.ohsk.net/uploads/title.mp3
http://bb.ohsk.net/uploads/track1.mp3
http://bb.ohsk.net/uploads/track2.mp3
http://bb.ohsk.net/uploads/track3.mp3

now these have all been made within 10 minutes
really lazy sound design
but it works

Yep, I recognized it. 'Tis a good song. :3

Distances v1 was pretty sweet. I think you should definitely try doing more stuff in that genre. And I REALLY like track3, although I'm not quite sure why. I guess I'm enjoying the rhythm and general feel of it.
