So.. a little update, mostly songs from the weekly music workshop, but still mine.
If i listen to my older ones, they show real potential, but i can never be assed to redo pieces, or work on them again..
maybe someone has some tips for that?

Ayway, songs.
Tomas - Supsense - A song from the wmw, the theme was suspense.
Tomas - Romance - Another song out of the wmw, theme; Romance
Tomas - Minto - Another one, more dancy
Tomas - Mt. Gully - Dance tune, made this one in an hour.. ;D
Updated tactics (still wip though)
aaand, working on 'Victory', which is almost in it's finishing state, but not totally.. kinda rushed the last part.

So, since I didn't get any responses whatsoever, I can just use this thread to post my stuff. I just finished a song, and I would like to hear your opinion about it. I don't know what to think of it myself. I think it's interesting, but it's not the kind of music I'd listen to the whole day, I have to be in a certain mood for it. Also I don't know what category it belongs in.. I labeled it 'Ambient Electro' for the time being:

Under another alias I've made two other songs, these don't sound as original or fully mastered as the above, but I do find them to be interesting enough to listen to once in a while. (note: these are old)

Hope you guys have something to say about it.
So, it's been a while now since I hooked my laptop up with my keyboard, though I've waited a long time with producing anything, mainly because the preset sounds in fl studio don't have that nice classic sound which I've been searching for..
luckily I managed to get a hold of the East West Colossus library recently, and I've enjoyed myself with the sounds in there..

Anyway, I've been improvising, and playing random tunes, and I would like to get some feedback on these sounds..

These are not actual songs, but maybe 'leading melody' would be the right terminology..

I don't like it, not as a musician but as a listiner. But i see you trying hard. Every one who wants to become skilled have to practise. So if you ambitious keep on practising. Good luck!

could you be some more specific and point out what it is that you don't like about the song? is it the mood it creates? the sounds used? the chords? the melody? what exactly turns you off? (or at which point would you like to stop listening to it?)

In my opinion, this song are lacking in melody, but what puts of are chaotic aragments and lack of harmony.

Hmm, my favorit was the second one; Andy Astray, or whatever its called. its got a really cool feeling about it. the rest Im not a big fan of.

Hello, I listened to Generic Piano. It's starting to sound good at 00:42, but after 4 or 8 bars, I expect different fill, instrument, chord, rhythm, or maybe sound/effect changes. It feels like you're just trying different variations of those 4 chords one by one. This song can turn out to be really cool and original, I like it. Thanks for sharing

you're absolutely right. I always start out good, but I end up rushing the song. Though I'm planning on redoing the song, and in that process I'll also rework the introduction of the piano. That kindof sucks too :3

i agree with clea, it just sounds kind of trial and error happy.

post more though, its not bad at all, just lacking some fundemental elements.

ok i just listened to the mt. gully song again on my laptop
you should really only listen to that when you have a good amount of bass at your disposal
not on shitty laptop speakers

actually sounds pretty decent.. but isnt complex in any way..
