AH! I see what hes saying... Look at his head... the top left isnt in shadow neither is the bottom left now looking at it... now look at the top left of his leg... shadow... either the head could do with more... or from the back of the knee to his ankle would need to be paler.... But its a template and wont be seen so ill shut up... ^_^
 
I will get a version done with the shading correct. but at the moment we dont know how we are going to be shadeing the charcters in game so that will depend on how we shade the template

but well spotted i did not think about it :D

Oh god im good! Now bough down to the gods that are breeze 8-dirs :P joking. Great work man, tell your team to keep up the amazing work.

I suppose the way to get shadows right is to draw an arrow showing where the light is coming from. But you already knew that :P

Oooh goodie. I get first comment on this.

1. My opinion of the game just dipped. Do we have to play as a futuristic basket ball player from da hood? XP joking...

Okok, REAL C&C time.

1. Love the colors, blue and that shade of orange offset really well, I also like how the orange seeps across onto the blue shorts.

2. you seem to have a problem with diagonal lines zoomzoom (my new nickname for you as xumasoft is too annoying to pronounce).

His hair would not have four perfectly diagonal straight lines on it, remember that the head is round. Its the same with the shorts. The lines that come down from the top then turn left. Give them some curve as they go round.

Same with the tatoos but you knew I was going to say that...

3. His watch is okay, highlight the edges with a darker color or it wont stand out enough.

4. love the trainers. Very nice work but i think the top of the right trainer is too thin... I'll screen shot to show what i mean...

If you can notice the shoe/leg on the left (which in my opinion is right) is slightly different to the one on the left. I used red to mark the length of lines... or the lack of them... okay ill explain

the length of leg on the left is shorter because the tounge of the trainer is higher up (personally, the tounge could also do with widening one pixel to fit flat against the red box i drew but thats personal opinion... back to what i was saying)

With the tounge being so high on the left one, the leg looks okay... On the right, the shorter looking tounge seems to make the leg look as if its boldgeing out of the trainer... a minor glitch, a minor fix that would make a MAJOR improvement in my opinion...

Improvements:
1-Fix diagonal lines for slightly curvier ones
2-Move tounge of trainer up one pixel.

Sorry I didn't post here before soft, been busy with the diagonal walking and other stuff :)

I've read most comments but will only fix things once the bulk of the frames is finished.

Sooooo.... I would like you Soft to take notes of the criticism ppl post here and hand it to me after I am done with the frames so I can just edit then :)

EDIT: The second leg, to put it this way, when its most backwards, you got the same problem as I spotted before on the sidewalking with the shadows. Have you seen my screeny?

Really beautiful work. I'm loving it! Although this may not bring your template out on top with popularity, It EASILY has the most realistic and believable mechanics of movement.

but i really wish that other people would come forward to agree with you. at the moment i get more hate mail for it then good comments, so every bit of good info gives us the determination to carry on with it. we are starting the female now and also the running animations. I do understand that this template will prob never be used out of this game because of the scale and amount of frames. but we will be giving the scripts and extras that will make this template run smooth on the system without lag.

we are currently looking for people to do designs for over 300 characters that need doing. as soon as we have them we can start work on the sprites. we have a couple of real sprites in dev at the moment that are looking very promising and they will be posted when we have them looking right.

OFF TOPIC - we are still looking for members with a artistic skill base, if you are interested in map development and character/concept design please let us know :)
 
hiya just wanted to let you know... i really really really hate your game idea.... AND YOUR SPRITE SUCKS!!!!! BAD SHADING, BAD ANIMATION....

Yea, same here. I mean, how realistic it walks...
