I just thought "the man"... that map needs the long grass autotile... it works wonders with grassland maps... at the end of the day, flat green doesnt really look like grass in the wilderness.
You also need more vegetation. If the area is floral, I really doubt it would grow in one massive cluster. If they are growing, surely the soil is goos so other various organisms would be growing nearby.
The cliff edge along the left hand side is perfectly straight all the way down, which is unreleastic.
Maybe try adding some wildlife in too. I always have butterflies just to inject a bit of movement - and hence life into the map.
It's hard to explain, but I always try and say to inject some personality into the map by having some passion for the map and think of using the rtp tiles in ways that other people havent. neorpgmaniak is a perfect example of this. He takes the rtp, adds his own bits and bobs from tielsets [that fit well enough] and the maps are distinctively his, just by using mainly rtp.
