I still think the dead animal RIGHT NEXT TO A LIFE GIVING RESOURCE was random, but oh well, what do I know? No, really?

It's not like the animal died of old age, it could have been killed by a predator or like Wyatt said, died in the ocean and washed ashore...

@Avadon: Looks nice, although that building doesn't tile too well.

numbnuts: you have the bottoms of the bushes growing out of your cement siding on the grass. lamps arnt usually in water, it looks a little unusual. tables and chairs are way too orderly; 3 chairs to a table looks nice. you misuse the water autotile, usually manmade pools arnt crazy-all-over like that; stick to shapes like squares, rectangles, circles. you misuse the floor tiles in front of that church; stick with one. in that town-square-like shot, lines on the floor tiles shouldnt go through the road, keep the on the edge only. the dock is oddly big, if you make it smaller, it wont look so empty. and in the last screen: the docks are misused, the brick wall tiles, the hanging lamps, and both of your water autotiles. also, since its a port you shouldnt be able to see down to the bottom of the water, it should be a LOT deeper.

I don't see why they need to be manmade pools, I used the autotile to make waterways that go throughout the town. I also don't see why the sides of the walkways can't be used to make decorative designs either. Also, having the hanging lamps side to side makes them look like one completely different lighting fixture, one that would most likely be mounted to the wall. If you consider that everything is not to scale and assuming the character is at least 5 feet tall, the water were the ships dock is a good 15 feet deep  which is more then deep enough for small boats. Also in places like the Adriatic see, the water is clear enough that you can see a good 30 feet down so its not unrealistic to see the bottom. The city is supposed to be artistically designed so as long as everything makes sense and is usable I don't think any of the tiles were misused, just used in a different way. i will fix the bushes though and I will make the lamps look slightly submerged as well.

@Keinaru : That screenshot is VERY dark, and I have a bright LCD. Lighten up the screen tone until the water is not so black, and everything else should be good. I like the map though; very detailed, good for a cutscene which it looks like it is, but probably too cluttered for navigating in gameplay...

@Keinaru: it looks pretty good overall, the swamp (?) mapping, the zombies, and the .. dead soldiers? I'll just let the fact that I had to increase the brightness of the screen in photoshop to be able to comment speak for itself though.

Seriously, just by looking at it alone, I can't tell.
