Er... thanks? I think.
I plan to make the message graphics shown a little more expression neutral however. ... and more up to date with my current style.
What a dumb, passionless line. Why don't you add more excitement, like "Whoops! I killed him" or if you actually WANT to sound boring say something like "Whoops! I think I killed him..."
I was trying to make him sound sarcastic. ^^; My intention with the game's dialogue was for it to be funny to the point it's maybe silly... maybe I overdid it there.
Here is the WIP of my title. I've altered the script for the default title to instead just dump you to the starting map, and this is made with pictures and events. The clouds scroll, and the butterfly is animated (both from the VX RTP). I still haven't decided on a final title.
I saw that and leapt to the conclusion that it was Double Dragon or River City Ransom. What sort of new system if this? I like the way you're using foreshortening with the tiles.
Well....erh... there is one chapter of "Sleepers" thats finished (lost somewhere in page 4 or 5 of the Project Discussion thread... ) not in this style cuz I did this screenshot just now XD
Adrian, that rocks, a lot. I love the side scroller style. Looks like the game will be awesome! It seems all the games here have really unique systems or graphics.
Curse VX for not giving any graphics to suspend lanterns. I had no choice but to put them a stone walls! I couldn't have just simply put them on the ground.
The map looks pretty good, but I don't really like the stone walls with lanterns. I'm pretty sure you could adapt something from the XP RTP or easily create something like a wooden stick to suspend them from; it would look far better IMO.
No fogs, just tinted screens and light effects. That's a good idea you have. I'll try importing something from XP, and then posting another picture for you to see. Thanks for the advice.
Excellent. I hated the stone things as well, I don't know why importing XP graphics never occurred to me. It all ended up much easier than I thought importing from a tileset would be.
