Ah, good idea. Thanks, I'll keep them in mind. :>

And the screen looks quite distinctively nice; the only thing is the floor looking a little too ripply, if that makes any sense.
 
Gamerage: What game is that? Is it front mission or the other one? But yeah I agree with Hevendor if your battle system is not ace you're dead. Hahaha :) just kidding but Malick maybe thats where he got runescape from. :p

And Gamerage seeing your screen really makes me want to get cracking on my own once more. :D inspiration much?
 
Using the LAZY-TRADE, or Laser Activated ZYlchium TRAnsportation DEvice.

It's my lame copy of a hookshot. I justify not being able to hook yourself to things not directly in front of you (too lazy) with the fact that you need to line up with traces of Zylchium. Bad excuse, I know, but oh well. =x

You don't really "hook" to anything per se, but the effect is the same.

Oh and, while you're moving around, it charges up. If it charges too much, it blows up and you die. Ideally you'd want to just fall in holes, but exploding is much easier to code :)

Ok, let's stop jocking. It seems a good idea, although many players will hate it ^^
The screens are very good, but I'd make the character holding the Lazy Trade, as in the icon it seems a gun...

32x32 sprite for each direction, got a bunch of picture slots reserved for future hookshot use, and going to make a walking animation where the laser slowly goes back as you walk forward and vice versa.
 
Introducing Fatigue.

When you mine, craft, fish, dig, etc, you get tired. Your fatigue bar slowly fills up red (or drains down to red depending on how you look at it). If it's all red, you become too tired to do anything. The lower it goes the tireder you get, so you'll start hallucinating, or making more mistakes.

But all is not lost! Your fatigue slowly drains as you walk, giving you more energy. Plus, your fatigue bar will completely clear when you:

-Defeat an enemy
-Raise a rank in any merchant skill or class
-Complete any quest or chapter

Some states make your fatigue drain faster or slower.

Why is the bar where it is? Well, it's out of the way, and lines up with the desert hud.
