Awww, I like the bunny soldiers! ... Those are bunnies, right? Granted, I probably shouldn't be saying "awww" about them... Those are Monta edits, right? Maybe you should make the outer outlines (the ones around the negative space) black so the style remains consistent.

I've seen Paradog's battle system floating around but I haven't been able to find it without the ATB. I've only been able to find it on his site. Would you mind terribly pointing me the right way to the script or demo? n_n If that battle system is an edit for your project, forget I asked anything. :D

Yeyinde is making the script. And I am working on the lines around them so they all match. I am just terribly lazy. And yes, they are Monta/RPG-Dot edited sprites.

Hey, I like the new forest, but the old one had a charm of it's own. It reminded me of the first level I played in FFT that you are in a forest and tring to save a Chcobo from some bombs. I'd play your game just for the fun style - though I'm sure the other bits will be just as nice.

Probably my last screenie for awhile, I actually made a boss battler. (Note, the name's probably just a placeholder lol)

ALso note that Hayato has a newer better shaded battler! Go team.

All of those trees are incredibly disorienting. Remove some then it should be good.

Too much marsh, actually. It needs to be toned down a little bit, seeing as how the volume of the trees makes it extremely disorienting. @_@ Haha.

Ugh... The amount of trees there are killing me. Get rid of at least half of them and you'll have yourself a decent map. Eugh... just... ACK!

I think the marsh works with loads of trees. It's a marsh, it's supposed to be confusing and disorienting, (I hope).

There are other dead trees in the tilesets that you can throw in there for some variety. The shot without the fog looks very disorienting, though we can appreciate the fussing it'd have taken with layers to squeeze that many trees in. If you want to create the feel of a marshy forest you could probably use canopy autotiles to help crowd it in without being quite so repetitive.

A WIP shot of one of the cutscenes I'm working on for a little Gaiden game. I should have it finished by the summer: using these faux 8-bit graphics has to have been one of the smarter decisions I've ever made: makes spriting a cynch

@Nix: I think that looks nice! It's simple, yet great looking. Love the tileset too. I'd like to see more.

Edit: Yay a variant for my caterpillar boss type thing. Now he's flame retardant! Yes.

Also, I gotta' say, spriting a battler of this size is a bitch. It is incredibly hard to allign an animated battler as big as that one.
