The Orange Box

So who's getting it (if you haven't got it yet)? I am going to buy mine this Thursday because it's only released in retail for Europe from that day. I am so excited :D

I want to get it (mainly for Portal), but (1) I don't have a 360, and (2) my PC can't handle Halo without completely disabling shadows and spectral settings while setting everything else at medium quality or lower, so... :/

Is it possible to just get Portal? I'm trying to save my money for other things, and that game looks amazing. (and yes I already know it's short...but still. lol)

They priced the standalone versions of the games, so there are probably standalones. Not sure thought. Just don't go get the Portal only, as far as I know, it's short enough to leave you unsatisfied. Go for the whole pack ;)

Isnt it Half Life?

Haha Halo, oh man I would kill you if you were next to me...By the way, if you haven't played Team Fortress 2 (and you're a gamer), you're life isn't complete. ITS JUST SO AWESOME o.o

Portal is awesome, though it was randomly crashing my computer so I had to set everything on minimum. =x

It's a great game though - worth it for the gameplay, not the graphics really :)

(don't get it if you have motion sickness btw)

I bought it on Monday, but things have been kind of hectic and so I'm holding off on installing it until this weekend. I don't want ANY distractions.

My only worry is that while my computer (a 2004 Sony Vaio) meets most of the recommended requirements easily, I have only a puny 512 MB of RAM, which is the minimum required amount. Also, my video drivers are probably way out of date, but that can be fixed with a few choice downloads. Still, I should be fine on medium settings, and if worse comes to worse I can always go low.

I've really been looking forward to this. I'm hoping for something close to a religious experience ;)

Yeah I bought it a couple weeks ago and beat Portal the first week (I don't like to sit and beat a game in one sitting). I am playing through Episode 1 before I play through Episode 2 because I barely remember E1 and it feels like a new experience.

It's taking me a while though because I'm so freaking busy...and I'm still playing Halo 3 in my little freetime.

Portal, mouth dropping.

Episode Two, rich story.

I really really really! Want Gordon to find the Portal Gun in Ep3, as they are going to the Aperture Ship. :|

@oceanray:

Really? only 512MB of RAM on your computer? My good friend, that is a sign to either upgrade your memory, or get a new computer. Is that what is left of your memory, or is that really the max on your computer? That, and a 2004 Vaio most defiently will need require an upgrade in video drivers if you haven't already done so in the past 3 years.

The only reason I would buy the Orange Box is for Portal and Team Fortress. I haven't played half life, so I wouldnt care as much for it.

Really? 512 MB memory?
I have a 2gig flash drive with more memory!
I have a still operational windows 98 with more memory then that!(it has a remaining 900 mb left)

I almost got it, but I went in for Oblivion, and I have always taken more than any fair share of game-time with the Elder Scrolls. Next time I have 50$ to blow, I am getting The Orange Box.
