Well, I suppose I should get working on the next draft then, eh? Bunnykinx already explained what he didn't like in this draft, and I'll be taking all I see here in consideration when I rewrite it again. Though, the next draft may be released in pieces. It will be rather long, I think, explaining in much greater detail about the events, including dates and names not mentioned in Draft One. Peace!
 
er...........I'm assuming Bunnykinx is Xcuma right? And as for drafts, thats for literature! I want screens, pics, charsets, and anything else u can find, although I understand about the tile part, but u should start anyway UNTIL someone comes along and draws the maps for you, until then rtp is your best bet, so this game can at least show some progress.

I have already brought up this point - and we are working as fast as we can on getting out more graphic resources.
 
I honestly don't want to sound mean. But the story is very over exaggerated, it would take less than 5 nuclear bombs to wipe the existence of humans from the face of the earth, the shockwave itself from the bomb is enough to shatter houses pieces of broken windows, fence posts, door frames, are enough to stake a human body to a wall and as that wall falls to the floor crush more people in the room behind... the heat from the blast melts skin off the bone and chars the bones... and again the radiation will loam so long it will kill life and not to mention the blotting out of the sun killing plants, then leading to the extinction of animals, thus starvation of the humans...

Maybe a bit graphic, but 1000 of them there wouldn't be a world to live on... it would be if this... a floating ball of molten iron magma core in space.

Also I'm not trying to shoot you down by explaining GoW, it was just the top FPS of the year besides Halo 3, how anyone hasn't heard of it let alone it pretty much sky rocketed sales of the Xbox 360, amazed me to hear someone who hasn't heard of it. Also I noticed most of this game seems to be made "on the fly" meaning you have no straight forward shot yet. I spent 2 years of planning on my game before I EVER released anything about it... I took the time to develop characters, character personalities, and the storyline, even found ways to leave the story open to expansion. I suggest you do the same.

I don't hate your project, I don't love it, I don't really know what I think of it now, it is nice and all, but it really doesn't seem solid enough yet to say it will do well or not. I just hope you smooth things out quick.

That issue has already been addressed in the TLE forums. Both myself and Kodakami have suggested lowering the number to something more realistic. Much of the text currently on the project page needs to be updated to reflect various changes in details which were at odds with realism.

Our drafter will begin writing updated text shortly.

Yes, that is a problem. This project is only a couple months old, and with nearly twenty members contributing, organizing everything can be quite daunting. However we are working on tightening up the story and developing the world. As time goes on, our team will develop a more defined story and organize all of our information and resources in a more concise and professional manner.

Honestly its just a number. It isn't going to have an effect on whether the game is good or bad. Maybe you should stop worrying about (directed a the team) drafing and re-drafting a backstory and work on the characters. But it seems as though your getting there.

@G-man. I understand that you wanna see all these charsets and screenshots. What I dont understand is that you dont think we should be spending this time on the back story.

Also "I" have almost all aspects of the game planned out. But when you are running a project with so many people you quickly learn that they have the ability to pick your story to the bone. I think this is a good thing, If they did not we could be working away only to get lots of complaints on completion.

The back story is important to this game because the back story will finalize some of the question marks that are around the game at the moment. I also noticed that you thought the game was not coming on to well because of the lack of updates.... This is not the case. Between the team alot of concepts and ideas are going around. Meaning that within just a few day some concept art can be out of date, character bios scrapped and music recreated.

One of the main things that is stressful is knowing what to post and what to keep for the player to discover.

@Axerax - Just so you know this game is not being made on the fly. The team will be able to back me up when i say I know the direction this game is going in. I have rejected more work then I have accepted so far. this game is only 1 week into the real development process and when we are aiming at a 1.5 to 2 year dev time scale you will see that this is still early days.

I dont really understand why people expect us to be posting screenshots after this amount of time.

Please keep locked onto the forums and thank you. You are really all helping us iron out all the faults within the game story.
 
We've seen several backstory posts, and I didn't say not to work on them, I'm just saying don't just work on that! I want to see progress, and based on that to do list, nothing is finished, so my question to you is how is this even in the development section?
 
Honestly, this game shouldn't have even came out of Early Projects yet, if you don't have screenshots. This is for projects well on their way. Thats why people expect screenshots, read the forum headers first. It's very specific on how to make a good project topic and a bad one...

The To Do list is ONLY the work being done at this time
The work that was finished before that was not posted.

Also that To Do list is only being updated every week so
ALOT of them things are now finished. or at least ready
for the final version.

also if you do read the rules to get into this thread you will
see you only need 2 of the list it asks for...

we have more then that...

I understand why you all think what you are thinking but games
dont go into dev and come out complete in a few days...

I hope to that you keep looking here for the progress that I can
Promise you we are making.

The next party member and there bio should be up within 3 days...

Hey guys, I noticed some of you just sit around our thread and complain day in and day out. I'm not pointing fingers here Axerax, but some of you should maybe do something about it instead of whine all the time about "Oh your project's in an unexpected topic" or "Your facts aren't perfect even though you're only in the beginning stages of game design". If it bothers you so much, then go fix the problem! Go work on your own games! We don't really care what you think right now anyway. The game will get done. But please stop flaming this thread and go do something productive with your lives.
 
tut tut... Kodakami I know how you feel... but please keep your cool man. You know what progress we are making, You know why we are doing things the way we are and thats all that matters.

Alot of there post do make sense. I do get frustrated how after I reply some people carry on about the same point. BUT there are many projects on this site and alot of people that post on this games thread are running there own projects. WE ARE THE COMPETITION, simply this is what to expect on here.

Ever since the first day we have been having people voice their opinions. I respect them for doing this and also I think it has helped us change alot of small aspects witch will in the end enhance the game...

Hey you know I'm all for this project Xcuma, I'm just saying this game doesn't seem to be moving to well, maybe I do get a bit repetitive, and thanks for not mentioning my name Kodo, but I was doing it too, the reason we post like that obviously is because you've drawn our interest......and we'd like to see this game happen! So consider the nagging replies to be your drive force, pushing you to finish this game.
 
Yeah, you're right, I got a little angry, but please try to stick to constructive criticism people. I absolutly hate flamers. Sorry Axerax, but try to tone it down my fiesty friend. Remember, this is just the beginning. And I appreciate all of your attention to the project.

I know you mentioned something about toning it down. Everything i'm saying is what we call negative encouragement... basically You teach a dog to use the restroom. You could A) Reward the dog for going outside with a treat and give positive encouragement or... B) Spank the dog, tell it bad dog, or pin it up in a cage till it goes... Negative Encouragement.

I have just as right of another person to tell you when a project is to early or not... I'm the one who actually has a game in beta testing and on the verge of having a demo for the public. As well I'm not trying to cut your topic down or "flame" I personally hate it when people do that, I'm just trying to point out crucial areas of your project that are "lacking" I guess... trying to help you all out. One final thing, your topic has probably gotten more attention than any other project of this forum from me, I am concerned for you guys and just want you to not make mistakes I did.

This is a forum,expect people who will love and hate your game.it's supposed to be discussed wether good or bad.You posted your game here afterall.They're not just here to complain about your game,but to help you point out your mistakes and to improve your game.And stop flaming,these guys are just helping you out.If you really dont care,just do it and dont mind them.
 
Damn that's some sexy concept art. Kudos to Linkin_T!

I was going to mention the amount of concepts for Seven and the lack of work for other characters when I re-read this...

All other characters should be done alot sooner as the problem with seven is that her concept set the style for the whole game

Looking forward to see the rest of them!
