Thanks again for your interest people...

Things have been going well with the team and we have alot more members Joining all the time... Im happy to tell you that we have now got someone that will be working on the CMS.

Since I have been busy playing my games all week and spending time with my girlfriend not much has happened with the project.

BUT NOW! we have almost got enough people on the project to get things really moving and im looking forward to seeing the project moving!

Thanks to the people on the project and the people talking about the project.

p.s There is going to be a new update in the next few days with the REAPZ character. Also more concept and story spoilers!

well I would like the concept in anyway you feel most competent with.

I would like something like the line art you can see on here but if thats not your style thats fine. as long as i can show what they will look like people will get the idea. thanks alot and i cannot wait to see them.

ALSO if you can colour them then thats great if not never mind. :D

we have 3 new members that I will be introducing over the coming days.

I've been checking this project now and then for a long time now. It's really good to see that Xcumasoft has gathered such a decent team (Ammom and OS would be nice additions to any team, not to mention some other people.)
This team has made an initially crappy looking project actually look promising! Good job, peeps!

It seems some people have the gift to cover thir own incompetence by finding fitting team members. Well, that's a respectable skill. I wish you the best of fortunes!
 
lol what do you mean incompetence?

The story is my own.... AMMOM is a GREAT sprite artist. and the others are of VALUE to the project.

I admit that when my story was not finalized I did make alot of little mistakes that gave this a bit of a tacky feel. This is no longer MY project, It is not OUR project and i can promise that this will be one of the best games EVER made for RMXP.

Thanks for keeping a eye on the game.

Do you like the back story that I wrote last night. I think that we are doing a good job.

ALSO i like you honest attitude. If you have any skills that you think this project could use then please let me know and maybe we can get you started... THIS GAME WILL BE MASSIVE and is going to need a great team.

I think we are getting there but there is still alot to finalize (ideas wise)

Have you done any actual eventing or mapping yet? This is what I consider as actual progress. How much RTP do you plan on using?

Having a good team is simply not enough. You need a team manager who is dedicated, passionate, skilled and is prepared (and actually does) a lot more work then the other team members. I know from experiance. Teams need to see progress. Deadlines need to be met. Everyone has to work together. You also have to be carefull that writers don't clash. A hard task. Harder than doing a whole game by yourself? That is up for debate. The bigger the team the harder it is too manage.

You can't say "This will be the best RMXP game, ever!" There is no way I will believe you untill I see a finished game that blows my mind. I haven't began to see anything that looks better than other projects here.

lol I do understand what you mean.

We have not started mapping. we will not be using any RTP as we will not be using "tileset maps" all maps will be hand drawn OR made in the unreal ed and then screen shots taken and added together (like a jigsaw)

this will be all done near the end. we will be making simple demos to show certain sections of the game systems.

well its simple really... the battle system, command systems stories NPCs and everything else will be made first and then placed into the world.

the mapping will take along time soo we are going to make sure we can get everything so it will be a simple(er) task at the end....

I will be giving demos of the map idea in the next couple of months. I am working on some ideas as we speak

they are at about

writing : 55%
Database : 80% (but may be scrapped and hard coded into the game for better results)
Scripting : 15%
Sprites : 5%
Concept : 10%
Music : 25 %
Mapping : 0.1% (this is because all maps will be hand drawn and takes time)
Voice : 0 %
Voice Dialog : 20%

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS GAME HAS ONLY BEEN IN DEV FOR 3 WEEKS...

WE ARE LOOKING FOR ARTIST TO HELP WITH THE MAPPING!
IF YOU THINK YOU ARE GOOD AT DRAWING PLACES LET ME KNOW!

How does a game with no maps and only 5% of the graphics done move up to the Projects In Development forum. Maybe its the team... IMO database isn't real progress because the player still has nothing to play. (Even though it is needed eventually).

And the concept is only 10%?? What do you mena by concept?

And so you mean you have one fifth of all the diologue for the entire game written?
 
i mean i have the concept dialog for 20% of the MAIN quests and game. The writers working on the side quest will be doing the writing for there quest!

BUT thats only after i have tested them on the main characters
(i need to know that they know what the main characters would act like)

I am really thinking about scrapping the whole idea of the database and go for classes.

by saying concept i mean the look of the characters down to a tee. making sure they look real and they reflect there feelings. locked away in my head i have the looks and attitudes of MOST the people in the game... its just alot harder then i expected to get them down on paper and get back what i expect from the concept artist but i do think they are doing a good job...

the world is being drawn up with a deep history for each town and continent. the sprites are still in the early stages and are being done by AMMOM. there is no real rush for the sprites because i can test with other ones (like templates) till the real ones are done.

I just dont see the point of rushing any of this. Also the team we have is very good and we are looking for more members all the time.

there are 3 sections we are going to struggle with and they are

MAPPING
SCRIPTING
SPRITEs

Mapping is going to need to start production soon so i need to get a mapping team assembled.

Scripting well im a Visual basics programmer so im learning RUBY fast. but i think im going to have to find some people to do some of the COMMAND SYSTEMS giving me time to work on the battle system and the AI

Sprites... Like i said before we have the best spriter i know working on this and they are looking really good (they are double sized for more detail so take longer to make)

Please people keep commenting on what you think soo far and what changes you would like to see... ALL COMMENTS ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY...
