I have found this amazing HK template with all the possible animations (or almost) I don't find them to be cucumbersome.  I guess it could help

The only problem is I do not know the author of this, there for if anyone does please tell me so I can give proper credits.

I also am pretty sure Tana did those.  There's a set for the standard female template, I think you can still find it on her website.  However it's a *lot* of extra work for a spriter to make a sprite for every single one of those poses for every single equipment object as opposed to just the standard 16 (which, really when it comes down to it is only 6, + 6 exact duplicates with a tiny bit of variation and 4 flip and reshades).

Right. Yes, you can tell Tana did it if you see that it has the simplified, 3-tone shading of the gRTP. I think the gRTP went kerflop because no one really wanted to stick to the 3-tone look (I personally didn't, either, since I generally am bored with "cartoony" looking shading). Also they made the focus too broad all at once. With the HKCP I want to make up for where the last project went wrong

Those are excellent bases for HK actions and you can use them as reference as you like. I already knew about them. However, I meant cumbersome by exactly what Nphyx said above; redrawing every piece of clothes for every action would be not only EXCEEDINGLY tedious, but nearly impossible for my server to stomach. Also, it'd be superfluous, since, as I said, NPC's don't really need all those actions.

Update's on the way, guys, sit tight :D

Fan-bloody-tastic! I gotta admit, when the HK becomes the new RTP, RMXP will never be the same. I just wish there were more tilesets from different genres and periods in time. This is an exciting time to be an RMXP owner, keep up the good work guys! :thumb:

CERU, I appreciate your candor regarding the palettes, but this is not the topic to seek critique on your work in creating a completely different template.

I don't want to come off as a jerk but this topic is to discuss updates and ask questions regarding the HKCP, not anything else.

I wasn't actually posting it to make you redo all of the clothes, I was posting it thinking that people could use them as templates for their characters and mod the clothes themselves.

Oh, well that's a decent enough idea. But I'd really rather avoid using Tana's stuff without her permission. I may eventually work on NPC actions, but that'll be well in the future.

Like I said, if someone wants to add some NPC actions, I'll fully endorse it :)

Venetia, could I pay you to animate the template I made? Like, if you were to charge, how much would it be? (It would also include the 2 gun animations (one holding like a pistol and one holding like a shotgun, submachinegun, flamethrower, etc,)?

Also, I hope this HKCP project is very sucessful, because sometime in the future I DO plan to make an RPG and I'd love to use this style.

Sorry hon, 100% of my free time is spend developing the HKCP :(. I don't have time for anything else.

There's a lot going on behind the scenes ;)

Anyway, thanks for the offer

OoooOOOooohhh okay. Well, I'll eventually make a recruitment thread that no one will pay attention to once I finish CX and C2. XD

HKCP kind of reminds me of Xenogears. Except, higher quality (except for the fact that Xenogears had lots and lots and lots of different animations for sprites).

2-25-08 : UPDATE - CHECK 1ST PAGE ANNOUNCEMENTS.

A new artist (Akaire) and some new stuff to add! Kudos all around.

The HKCP Gallery will be released on Friday! Hopefully, it'll make your library-searching and uploading easier.

Bonus: If you register there, you'll be able to upload your custom sprites created with the HKCP, even if you're not on the Team!

Thanks to everyone, and take it easy, baby!

I have a quick question -
Are we allowed to edit already submitted pieces to make a new one, e.g. we take the Adult Female Dress, and erase the dress part, to make a short-sleeved top? But still credit the HKCP Team, and not submit it to the CP?
