Cheers, I think you're the first to actually appreciate them!

Sorry, no can do, like Rapidshare, Mediafire limits sizes to 100mb, and the demo + manual is 114 mb. Any other preferences?

Somewhere that people can actually DOWNLOAD from.

Woah, calm down Larynni, I can only do so much in one day, especially since I worked late yesterday. It'll be done, be patient.

EDIT: Just tried download; absolutely fine. Extracts from Rar fine, does the self unpacker fine, boots up okay.

You don't seem to have much luck with direct download services, Larynni.

I know its basic stuff, but you do have a fairly recent copy of WinRAR or whatever, don't you? Even if it somehow fails the extract (which usually means the download got corrupted) you can try the repair function.

If this happens to you alot/ you're on a slow line/ you're daft enough to not be using Firefox, you might want to consider a download manager like Getright. Corrupted Downloads of big files typically come from your ISP not being friendly with big downloads ~or~ inefficient allocation of hard disc space (either on a drive thats not been defragged in a while, or by using internet explorer- which is cursed, lol).

Hmm, blasted font autoinstaller...its more trouble than its worth, honestly.

But I've not seen that particular error before...hmmm...and I thought fileutils.rb came with the base ruby programming in RMXP, though I could be wrong; its been so long since I added that script.

My only thought: it might be because windows is sometimes dumb when it comes to special characters in the install path... like your scandinavian A (I've seen unzips and photo managers not work and such because of this). I doubt it'll do anything, but you could try running it from somewhere else after copying it there...like D:\TEW\ or something.

Otherwise, theres the drastic solution: open the Rxproject, go into the script editor, right click on Wachun_Font_Installer and delete it. It is not needed by the game; it merely tries to install the fonts for you, as is explained in the manual. You'll have to put them there manually as a result. If D is your main drive, then put them in D:\windows\fonts\

Sorry about that.

Lul wut?

What about Mitochondria? Is my aptitude for GCSE biology being tested again? Or have you simply forgotten your medication, CERU?

Well, in any case, I'll use this an excuse for an update:

17/04/08: Actually, not alot has happened. Work has been murdering my free time, and I've barely had time to breath and catch up with anime during the past couple of weeks. I did have time to remodel some issues with Act I, but thats about it. Bleh.

Its a reference to the horror RPG Parasite Eve.

"The greatest foe lies within the self" ... I think.

Ah, okay. I haven't played Parasite eve, so no wonder the reference passed me by.

I actually made the title in reference to the old adage of 'a mans greatest enemy is often himself'. Seeing how there was a fair bit of internal strife going on in the game (with several of the NPCs as well as the characters) I thought it to be appropriate. Though these days I can't help thinking of Lieutenent Yamamoto from 'Irresponsible Captain Tylor' and his little speech on the 'Enemy Within' at the start of the series, LOL.

Bwahahaha, I live again!

Like I said on the Graphics Workshop, blame D&D 4th Ed and Romancing Saga 3 for my lack of RMXP work.

Anyhow, I've actually rewritten the intro ~again~! It now has a menagerie of special effects and looks pretty, and the text is shorter. Also, finished the scripts and plans for several sections. As you may have seen in my workshop, also finished the anims for Hecate and Triela.

Ah yeah, here's a shot of the Tessalatorian Flag emerging in the background during the intro:

Also done some mapping, finishing the various versions of the Deneve Mines, which offers a terrifying water level puzzle. Here's a shot:

Don't worry though, its nowhere near as hard as the Water Temple in Zelda OOT

And also started parts of Chapter VI maps, since I finished compiling the parts for my custom  Japanesey exterior tileset. Here's the exterior of the Fuu Monastery:

Tried to make it seem like the lead up to a Shinto Shrine.

Edit: Also, anyone interested in being an Alpha tester?

My regulars have done a runner on me, at least for now. You need to be able to bitch constructively to me, find stupid errors that I've missed, and inspire me when it seems hopeless for me to continue. Ability to come up with cool suggestions will also be appreciated. You also need to be able to D/L a large-ish 150mb file. The final project is not probably going to be this big, but I regularily dump stuff in the directory thats not actually gonna make the final cut of the 0.8 release.

PM me or post here if you are. Give me some reason to actually pick you though. If you've already played the 0.7 version, that would help, since you'd be up to speed.

I would love to be an alpha tester...Just so you know, your game so far has been awesome. I just finished up chapter 2 and love all the different stuff that you have put into this. I'm still playing right now though, and just saw that you need alpha testers. so I posted. hope I get chosen!! If you need anyother info, let me know....

(Btw.....a few things that I noticed....there is a tileset error in one of the rooms in the first city you come to, the middle left corner of the church is not right. One of the tiles for the roof is off. Also, in one of the houses, you can walk underneath one of the books, even though it's on the floor.....)

(another thing to add while I'm comming up with things.... your little arena mini-game, is waaaaaayyy to easy. I was about lvl 8-9 and was able to destroy everybody 20, to max out my gold...when you beat it 20 times, it gives you 20 million. I think you need to either make it harder as you beat people, or only allow you to win so many times a day....)

Uh, Mitagen? Where you pick up Tomlyn? Its been almost entirely rehashed since v0.7 so hopefully these things have been sorted. But thanks for pointing it out.

Hmm, yeah, you're the second person to comment on that. I only really tested it at level 6-7, fresh out of Act II. The arena is due for a mechanics overhaul anyway since I want to add other ways to play in addition to the Survival version (2v2's and a ladder, as well as individual duals~ one of which will be needed for plot reasons)

I'm also thinking about conditional branches to check party HP and replace foes with tougher versions. This will be especially needed as there are now no level ups in version 0.8, just stat increases as you use them, ala. Oblivion.

really? No level ups, sounds interesting. Hurry with this version, I can't wait to see all the new stuff that you put it... *starts doing random cheers...*

Wachun font installer line 35 loaderror occured.

What to do?
Its because some RMXP installs don't seem to come with fileutils.rb, I think.
http://rapidshare.com/files/150478263/fileutils.rb
Get that, and slap it in the TEW \data\ directory.

Some others have had this problem, as you may have noticed in the previous posts. I suggested alternate solutions before for this too, like installing the fonts manually and/or deleting the Font Autoinstallation script. You can check the earlier thread for those solutions... Its not a very important script for the game, per se, it just does a job for you.

EDIT: Actually, the manual also tells you about font installation, if I remember rightly (I don't have a copy of it any more, lost in the HD wipe and now only have the 0.8 manual.)
