The original comic by Frank Miller was better. This is nothing more than a quick cash in on super hero movies, as Dissonance was played by Mia Fey, who only did a so-so job in her previous movie: Phoenix Drive (a porno, I should add.) The REAL Dissonance should've been played by George Clooney as the comic creator's intended.
Also they got Despain's character all wrong, he's angry BECAUSE he has a repressed homosexual urging for Dissonance played out through his latent schizophrenia. This Despain is nothing more than a homicidal pretty boy, going around doing stupidly violent things. The Despain the original (and better) graphic novella was based on was a chronic masturbator who terrorized RMXP with pictures of his man-beard. Despain's man-beard in this one is almost non-existent, but what would you expect from such a blatant disregard for brilliantly original comic storytelling.
I feel sorry for all you scrubs caught up in the hype who'll never understand the true powerful nature of comics, and instead feed off of the glorious abortions of a washed out producer's limp dick sweat. Then again, perhaps you're so stupid you don't deserve the transcendental and riveting nature of Spawn, or the existential brilliance of golden age Wonder Woman. I weep for you, and at the same time envy your blissful ignorance.
... almost.
