Okay here's the rules my lil' nigs. You guys are going to post your TOP TEN FAVOURITE VIDEO GAME MUSICS OF ALL TIME. It can be from any game, made any time, etc. The only rule is that you can only have one track PER SERIES. I don't want to see some ~_cloudsephi_~ faggot flooding all ten spots on his list with 10 final fantasy tracks. When you choose a song from Final Fantasy, that is the ONLY FF song you choose. Also try to include links, lost of video game osts have just been DUMPED onto youtube as a one-image video with the song playing so look there.
Got it? Good. Now here's mine :3
10: Mega Man 2, Dr. Wily's Castle - This is the best Megaman song by far, and probably the best 8-bit song i've ever heard. It's just amazing. Megaman 2 was probably the best megaman game out there, and definately one of the hardest. The music just sets the stage. :3
9: Final Fantasy Tactics, Trisection - The FF series is by and large a pathetic mass of shit BUT its music is generally pretty good. FFT was probably the best game out of the bunch and i find it appropriate it also sported the best soundtrack.
8: Sonic the Hedgehog, Green Hill Zone - Everybody knows this song, it's the ICONIC sonic song. I mean YEAHHHHHH some of his new stuff is really good but this one still says SONIC like no other.
7: Donkey Kong Country 2, Stickerbrush Symphony - While Donkey Kong was not known for its music, Donkey Kong Country was. I was really TORN when I knew something from the DK series had to make it in, but what would it be? Gangplank Galleon from DKC? Hideout Helm from DK64? I was at a loss until I stumbled across this song... and I knew it just had to be. :3
6: Super Mario Bros., Level 1-1 - EVERYBODY knows this song. It is the song that not only represents the entire mario series, but all of Nintendo, all of the 8-bit era, and all of video games.
5: Metroid Prime 2, Sanctuary Fortress - Metroid is another series with excellent music. This one was a bit tougher... There's the Super Metroid main theme, the Phendrana Drifts theme from Metroid Prime, and the Rundas battle and Elysia themes from Metroid Prime 3.... but if I had to choose the best song of the series it would definately be Sanctuary Fortress.
4: Chrono Cross, Dragon's Prayer - The Chrono series is filled with tons of great music and some might see my choice of Dragon's Prayer as odd. Most people when they think of 'Chrono Music' think of Trigger's Zeal themes, Schala themes, 2300AD themes, etc, and Cross' Battle with Miguel, the Dead Sea, Chronopolis, and a bunch of shitty Kid-related themes. IMO, Dragon's Prayer is the best song of the bunch, and is often overlooked because it plays in a dungeon that's about a half-hour long that seals up once you've completed it.
3: Pokemon GSC, Battle with Red - Pokemon isn't really KNOWN for it's music but honestly people who think the gameboy can't out put awesome themes need to be shot in the face. It was a dead-even tie between the Battle with Red from GSC and the final battle with the rival from RBY until I realized that GSC is a superior game in every way and LEVEL 81 PIKACHU HOLY FFFFFFFFFFFFF HOW DO I WIN HES RPAING MY WHOLE TEAM DFGSDGSGSGHSDVg
2: No More Heroes, We Are Finally Cowboys - No More Heroes is easily the best game on wii, and one of the best games ever made. The final battle between Travis Touchdown and Mr. Sir Henry Motherfucker is the coolest boss fight I've ever seen, and has some of the best music ever in a video game.
AND WE'RE AT NUMBAH ONE
drumroll please, my drummin' nigs.
