Super Smash Bros. Brawl - (SPOILERS)

I could talk for hours about SSBB, I guess, but well... let's reduce it to "Don't make smashing-on-a-floating-platform-that-goes-around-a-nice-environment-only-stages" and "Yay for Wario" ^_^

To the character issue, I can only say that I hope all the Melee characters make it in, though meanwhile, I think that's kinda unlikely for no specific reasons... I'm especially worried about Shiek, as she's my favourite character in Melee and because of Zelda's Twilight-Princess-design in Brawl, I doubt she'll actually be able to transform into Shiek anymore... and getting Shiek as a seperate character is even more unlikely, though then again, that'd be the best thing they could do to me and all the other Shiek-players... it'd even give her another special attack due to the missing transformation move - hell yeah, that'd be what I'd like to see.

I wanna see them get rid of powersliding. just so i can lol @ the ssbm fiends that perfected it for like 5 years.
If you mean wavedashing: Stop crying and practice, it takes like 5 minutes to learn it and five hours of competitive gameplay to get it quite right... -.-it really isn't hard, so don't whine if you're too lazy to practice.
And I hope they include all the advanced techniques, as they obviously seperate the folks that spent lifetime into the game from the occassional gamer - and it's also more fun using these.

They'd better live up to the expectations. Cause, you know, december 3rd =|That's pretty fast considering the time spent on, let's say, twilight princess.
More like Twilight Princess took forever... Nintendo apparently needs a lot of time for their Zelda titles... either way, it doesn't necessarily have to take long to produce a game to get a good result... take God of War 2, for example, which is the best game for the last console generation IMO, and took less than two years (I'm not sure about the exact development time)...

Wavedashing taking, like 5 years? I think it took me half a day or so to fit it into the gamelplay =X

Oh, and if Nintendo delays something it is often one of the better games. Which is why I occasionally am happy rather than sad hearing they have to perfect several aspects and will release it half a year later.

It seems like they're putting effort in designing stages, I'm still rooting for a lot of variance between the stages theirselves. Like, Hyrule-Battle field-Pok? Floats.

Sheik, I dunno. I do hope they include her as she was fun to play with. I have my doubts on how good Wario will be, he's obviously not likely to be very fast, and we know what speed meant for 'em tier lists in ssbm. Marth, Sheik, Fox anyone? I feel like putting him in the G&W category. Well-thought out move visuals, but no top material.

@TCoFA: Yeah, Wario seems to be strange... but the smashfolks found ways to play Mewtu, Bowser, DK, etc. quite nice as well... and Wario has a very unique-so-far special move with his Furious Fart (my name for it cause I don't remember the name right now), that has other effectiveness conditions than all the other attacks... and diversity is always something you can work with IMO... well, I prefer the fast folks either way (the three you mentioned are exactly who I main ^_^ ), but regardless of the effectiveness, I love to see that guy in SSBB, as he makes every game he's in to a I-take-Wario-and-if-he-laughs-that-means-you're-owned-game ^_^ Also yay for Waluigi, who will hopefully make it in, since he's awesome!

I was expecting more from the stages to be honest - though some of them do look very cool, I was expecting them to be destructible or something - now ThAT would be cool, like SSB mixed with Worms. Or something else, you know, apart from improved background visuals. Something which makes the gameplay unique on each one instead of day-turning-to-night or moving-background which we had last time? I'd jsut like to see them being more creative than they appear to be.

However.

Every Saturday night I AM going on Smashville. Live performances, yes please! Though I cant remember that dogs name, I remeber him being absolutely awesome

@scope

DK is pretty good as he can get around the speed issue of Bowser and Mewto, Mewto is nice to screw around with in pok?floats with items allowed.

Even though I HATED G&W as a character, I liked his visuals. I didn't think much of Jiggs in SSB, but liked him/her (Then again, Jiggs wins in SSBM, which is a good thing).

They're likely to nerf Fox, shine combo's going out. I doubt they'll do much on Sheik, and maybe Marth will recieve a downgrade also, but I suppose they'll keep his range and speed so it wouldn't hurt too much to him. I suppose nice new ones will be Zero Suit Samus and potentially Metaknight (depending on whether he has some things that knockback unlike Fox' blaster, and gets a good finisher and decent damage. Speed and platforming should be alright). Just a few speculations though.

I'm curious to see Kirby's finishing move (He's the character I'm usually best at) and I really pray that Sonic makes it in as a playable hidden character, and not just an assist trophy. I'd really LOVE to see Sonic running around with the likes of Mario and Snake! I don't have a Wii yet, but this game alone could be a big factor in me purchasing one if it plays as nice as it's looking. Nintendo always (usually) pumps out great titles, and this looks like no exception...

I hope to see Peach again, or some other "silly" character, which I could master and beat up friends with.
There is nothing like the shame of being beaten by a silly character. :p Jigglypuff would do also.

They are destroyable. Look at the new clip and the trailer movies. In one "battlefield" esque stage, the platforms went kaboom.
Also the bridge of Eldin is destroyable.

@Strike: I think he meant like really destroyable, not destroying several predefined parts. Also, it the 'battlefield-esque' stage (Angel Land is what SmashBoards call it), the platforms aren't really destroyable in a fuctional way, as they leave clouds which you can stand on. So it's just another visual effect... and I also think that the Eldin bridge has just one predefined destroyable segment.

To everone that said Zelda took a long time- It's because they needed to design all the art and stuff for the temples, and lets not forget that storyline, I mean the twilight Princess storyline was way better than the others in my eyes.

And now onto the topic- The reason Smash Bros isn't taking very long is cause they already have the design for the characters they just need to make them, there is no storyline whatsoever, and well the stages are just a few fancy looking platforms from I've seen so far.

The only thing I wanna see on the en/uk SSBB website is a release date. I don't wanna find out that it's coming in 2009 or whatever. *shudders at PAL release dates*

Pichu, Roy, and Doc are all probably going to go. In fact, I garuntee it. I don't know about Shiek though. We'll have to wait until Sakurai reveals more of Zelda's movelist. I'd love to see a TP style Shiek... Ganny is also probably a shoe-in for SSBB. Although he had better get a new moveset. Despite the fact that I love him in SSBM(he's my main now, despite the whole low-mid tierness), I think that he deserves his own set(he is one of, if not the greatest videogame villian of all time).

I also hope they make Bowser better then he was in SSBM. He really sucked then, because he was just too slow, and his strengths never made up for it.

Also, Shine combos have got to go. That and laser spams are what keep Falco and Fox top tier, without them, they'd still be high. They don't need to have the best move in the game(up there with Bowser's Flying Fortress, although Bowser sucks, so that fact can be ignored) AND be freaking incredible in almost every other important aspect as well(sure, they have their share of weaknesses, but they're all overshadowed by the WTFPWNness of their strengths).

Overall, I hope that if anything, SSBB is much more balanced then SSBM. Of course, we know that it won't be as balanced as Virtua Fighter or Guilty Gear, but hopefully it'll come to the point where more then half the character list can be used competativly.

True, then again, blame the competitions for not allowing stages such as pok?floats, in which Fox can get some serious problems, and to always make it one on one, rather than a 4 player mayhem.

I only hope there's more stage diversity. They all look like final destinations and battlefields. However I must say that I will still enjoy them.

I want some bumps and pathways darn it. I for one loved the temple stage in SBBM

I think the shine should still be in SSBB, while the waveshine shouldn't be... it works nice in SSBM because you need to practice intensely to get the waveshine right, and again, it seperates the pros from the weekend gamers, but for the sake of a balanced game, they should take this stuff out. The instant-reflector you can jump out of should be kept as it is, though...
