not bad  :thumb: good luck on this, don't stop making it, your mapping deserves an honor (compared to a lot of maps on this forum) i like the title screen, and the title, it's very orriginal.
 
@shuruka: Thanks for the comments  :blush: The animated title screen was actually inspired by Reives' Quintessence one. As for the music and logo, I didn't make them; credit goes to the talented jtbengal and Hanzo Kimura.
 
this is actually one of the few rpg maker games im thinking of playing the demo, anything else i like I'll probably wait till its finished :wink: I'll download the demo tomorrow... when my comp is fixed

Production has been pretty fast lately; I'm around halfway done with the first chapter.

Now, our concept artist has just finished a pretty good picture recently, so I might as well share it!

i tried the demo well done, however i got an error after using a spell a few times, don't remember the error but you might wanna look into that. And i get that kinda stuff a lot, i play rpg's for a living basically and can see potential pretty well after the Snes games struck US  :tongue2:
 
Thanks. Some people have been getting script errors; I think it's fixed now, but I won't update the demo until the chapter 1-3 release. Hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I updated one of the screenshots. I'll be using cosmetic lighting for some of the maps now. Also, some sprites have been added for the characters section.
 
Ohh regi that chapter one pic is delicious =] I really want to play this. In answer to your previous question, I thought the puzzles were balanced very well, not too easy or too hard. I especially liked the mirror section - I know all it took was a look in the right direction, but it made me clever for thinking of it =]
 
Good to know someone likes my work. Haha. It was kinda fun to work on. I still haven't gotten past the beginning of the demo, then again, I haven't played it much either. Haha. The intro is really well done. Its good to know I helped with a strong project. Keep it up.

yeah i got stuck at the statue once lol,
and i'm still working on u'r cms =P, almost done pretty much but i can only work on it like 30mins a day atm .-., then going to mexico friday night, but u already know that =P
 
Like your previous game, this looks really good, but I think I see a hole in your story. But.. I may be wrong.

You say the man is enslaved to mine, but then after using illegal sorcery he is Exiled. Could one not say he broke the law and then was given his freedom instead of being killed? This seems strange to me.
 
Hey, good question. I know the synopsis was kind of vague, so let me explain.

The Boss (leader of his mine) was really trying to help him and the village. Marc should have been killed for "using sorcery," but the Boss had a kind heart, and knew Marc would never have done it if he'd known about it before. The Boss let him live, but had to banish him because he didn't want the government to hear about it (in which case, they'd probably fire or kill him too).

Hopefully that should help. It'll be a lot clearer once I finish Chapter 1. There's a bit more to it than what I explained (note the quotes around using sorcery), but it should be much easier to understand in the game.

Hey, Regi! I played as much of the demo as I could in the last five minutes, but I am stuck in the second room, the one with the note, "Pay attention to which direction you are facing." Can you give me a LITTLE hint?
 
Have you looked at the mirror yet? There's a sign you can read somewhere on the wall. When you're reading it, think of the instructions from the character's point of view (as hinted in the note). Good luck :thumb:

Also, a notice I added to the main post. I realized that players using gamepads might be having difficulty playing with the battle system, so:
The battle system controls were designed for keyboard use. If you are using a gamepad and you find the controls uncomfortable, PM me or post in the thread and I will try to compromise.
