Smash Bros. Brawl Topic

What I do is I stand still, wait for one of them to get close with Snake.

Tap A, and don't hold a direction- this knocks them a good distance away and does great damage.

Or, alternatively, side smash A and then follow up with Up + A in mid air. The side smash knocks them to the side, of course, so following up may be somewhat difficult, but they get some stun on this, and his Up + A aerial gives some pretty insane knock back in a very vertical direction.

And if you REALLY want to be cheap, spam his up smash. You hit a little bit of the space in front of you, knock anything in range upwards, and then you have the mortar round drop back down for secondary explosive damage, which gives more of the knockback you've come to expect from him. Pretty quick, too.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head without actually having a working Wii console right now. :(

.....Anyone have any tips on KOing at least 5 fighters in that stupid Cruel Brawl? >_>
I can get up to about 2 before I die...
I did it with Ike (and I don't really use him). Like the others are suggesting you can trick them to jump off the platform by jumping off yourself and then, if you're using Ike, throw his sword at the edge (you'll want to be hanging rather then landing on the platform). Your attack should hit anyone close to the edge, give you enough time to prevent anyone else from getting backup as well as time for you to fall (safest) or jump off the ledge again.
Once you get good at tricking them and throwing the sword at the ledge you can probably get over 5 easy.

Played it again last night and I've decide I'm better with Gannondorf than DK. Ganondorf is pretty slow, but he is very powerful and has some pretty good moves...

Also his super duper move (the one were he turns into a pig) Is pretty good at killing everyone on the board. I think I will remain Ganondorf for awhile.

On the opposite end, I enjoy playing as sonic and Mario. They are not as strong as the bigger guys, but 10 times as quik.

Any tips for the Defeat 50 Yoshis in one lap of Rainbow Ride on Hard?

Yeah that was the ONLY one I couldn't finish on HARD. I got really close by spamming Meta Knight's down smash (4 yoshi's left)

Ike Ike Ike Ike Ike Ike...and yeah, Ike.

Just spam random smashes, that works for me, and if you're having trouble, spam his Up+B. It has invincibility frames, so if you keep on doing it, you'll turn out fine.

Also, the same answer applies to the one with the fifty Yoshi's....minus the last part, adding on to the fact that the 50 Yoshi's is a Co-Op event...so, like, use two characters =x

You get Meta Knight and Pit, Meta Knight's Up+A smash is good if you hit them as soon as they spawn but sometimes there are like 5-10 second breaks between yoshi spawns which slows everything down. Pit is pretty useless as a secondary, I get whoever else to use him just to pick up assist trophies and stuff that shows up.

Oooohhhh, right. Then in that case....well, spam smashes. That worked for me.

I give up, lol. I'm a good fighter, but not good enough to do those kind of tricks...I pretty much get KO'ed before I even try to do something...>_>
Will it still count if a second player joins in? If so I'll just put this on hold until one of my friends comes over...

Another thing: Stage Builder is fun as hell to mess around with. I just spent ten minutes yesterday creating an evil stage covered in conveyor belts. You can't edge-grab them, the ceilings are low, and every item is eventually wafted onto a bed of spikes I placed at the end.

The music is really good, too. Some of it's sort of "meh" (OH GOD SONIC R KILL IT MAKE IT DIE,) but when it's good, it's really good. Hate to sound like a technofag, but Waluigi Pinball falls into the latter category.

And while I've made it clear on IRC how much I hate the way Brawl's dudes translated things from Mother 3 (Pokey = Porky!? Carol of Destruction = Smashed Song of Praise!? Tazmily = Tazumili!?) the remixes of Mother 3's tracks (already awesome by game music standards) are really good. I've had Baseless Revenge stuck in my head for a while now, supplemented occasionally with "Isn't This a Utopia?"

For Cruel Melee, do what my brother did- use Pit. Leap off the edge and then fly below the stage to the other stage. You're almost garunteed at least one alloy will suicide in their attempt to kill, and there's little risk of death.

It's not quite as bad as that Elektroplankton stage, but it's close.

Pikachu's a beast in this one. So are Zelda (I don't like Shiek much though) Ike, Zamus, Samus, Poke Trainer, Lucario, and Luigi. FIRE PUNCH. <3

My main three are

Ike
Toon Link
Charizard

I mainly use Ike in brawls, Toon Link in SSE, and Charizard for Boss Battles mode, because Boulder Smash is insanely strong. It takes a fair amount of skill to use Ike effectively, but once you're good with him, it's hard to lose.

Eruption and Aether are both unflinchable moves, so when you're surrounded and about to take a beating or see a smash coming at you, fire one of those up. You'll still take damage but you won't get launched. Then counter with a smash or Counter (D+B/1). Aether is also amazing for abusing edge guarding losers. =)

With Toon Link, it's absolutely necessary to abuse Fairy Bow and Bomb. Since his arrows fly pretty far even when tapped, use that for a quick hit while you pull out a bomb, and then get them in the air using that. Follow up with his meteor smash (D+A/2 in the air) for an easy elimination, or U+A/2 in the air, followed by Spin Attack.

Charizard is the type of character you'll need to learn how to shield effectively with. He can take a lot of damage either way, because his recovery is so damn good. Triple jumping and his U+B/1 make it easy to get back to the edge, plus if you hit someone with the last hit of his U+B/1, it launches the enemy. =)

Such a great game. Only have like 6 challenges left on the board. =)

EDIT: Oh, and for some reason a lot of people don't notice this right away but if you use Sonic's Spring Launch in midair, the spring damages anyone it falls on. So edge guard with Sonic using it. Jump off the edge, spring up, dropping it on the character attempting to recover, and land back on the stage. Easy easy easy, and it feels good to knock someone out by dropping a big red spring on their head. Sonic is the mid-air attack MASTER of Brawl. I've roughly done about 50-60% damage to an enemy with one series of mid-air attacks. He's awesome. Another one of my main SSE characters. For the record, my main 4 character party in SSE is Ike, Sonic, Toon Link, and Meta Knight.

I got it today, I'm in the UK, name is XiGus (Combination of Xilef and Gus) my code is 1977-0095-2464.
It's so much fun! Just been playing melee stages and MK stage, started to play subspace now.

My favorites are:
Pikachu-FREAKING GOOD SMASH ATTACKS (spam them a little too much)
Kirby-Sweet final smash
Sonic-"Sonic Boom Sonic Boom Sonic Boom!!!"
I like clasic mode alot as well other than the final Master Hand Battle.
