Web 2.0 is a bunch of bullcrap. It's a buzzword devised to promote web sites, and there are no real standards to hold any site to. Basically, if you have a cool-looking site that uses CSS and validates, and that has some kind of media on it, then you can call your web site Web 2.0.

Phew, wow, sorry about that. I got a little flustered for a minute there. lol

Baby steps. Here's a quick tutorial: First off, tables are for displaying data and they have a purpose. Layout and design is far from that purpose. Secondly, CSS is for styles, nothing else is. Don't do <body bgcolor="#000000">. HTML for content-only, CSS for style-only.

Evidently is a buzzword. None the less, almost anyone out there will know what you mean by web 2.0. Just googling the term shows it all.

Almost anyone will have an idea about what you mean when you say Web 2.0. Web sites will pop into their head, but they will not be able to clearly define what it is. Clients come to us all the time wanting "Web 2.0", but they don't define it. When we ask them to, they say they want a blog, forums, streaming media "Like Youtube", and then they'll go on to list features of about 50 other web sites. It's something that high-traffic, interactive sites coined after the fact so that they could use it. I could go on about this forever. I'm just glad that someone is planning and recording structure and standards for the next Web x.0. :)

Here's my opinion and advice, depending on how you want to take it... Anyone wanting to learn Web 2.0 should really focus on learning about CSS, W3 standards (www.w3.org), validating XHTML + CSS, and creating layouts in CSS (www.csszengarden.com). After that, learn a Web programming language / framework: PHP is my personal favorite, but there's JSP, Ruby on Rails, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, etc..

And sees you sleep... you're looking like a spambot right now. lol

You were talking about a style of images? God that's even worse. lol

Ok, I'm getting off-topic here... Any tutorial that successfully shows a reader how to style graphics or implement proper CSS is a good tutorial by any name. I've run out of web sites to show too, so I'm done. ^_^;

Web 2.0 has two definitions mostly.

First there's the faggy trendy definition that serenade is clinging onto. Flashy glossy effects and apple computers. That's more visual.

Second is the idea of interactive, usergenerated-content websites. (http://reddit.com/ doesn't look anything like serenade's images, but it's certainly web2.0)

Hey! This topic isn't for debating the merits of web 2.0 graphics (ahaha merits of web 2.0 graphics), it's for showing off your websites. So don't go there, sister.

Oh, I didn't take it to mean that.. I took Despain's comment to mean that the entire trend of misusing the term "Web 2.0" was "faggy". Semantics... ::)

Ah yes, and we are getting off-topic. Sorry Des.

Just click on the fucking splash image.
Hmm~ I had too much fun with colours and such. Yeah the image is big. Oops I didn't mean to do that but, well. There's no content on the site anyways (the server blew up and lost all my info... and it's backed up somewhere... where, I don't know...).
Oh, and APPARENTLY it looks fine in IE so.... yeah. Everyone should get FireFox anyways.

And.. wait nevermind. That was something else.

Edit: Changed the link from the stupid host to the new, non-stupid host.
