Shifter Title Screen FINAL Come take a look! MAJOR EDITING!

First off the mood I get from this is a depressing one. Your earlier titles looked more magical. I'm a tad confused about what your game is going to involve for emotion.

Now I'm going to help you out by posting a screen shot of my commercial game Wars Remorse...:

Now ignoring the title-text which is incomplete (still working on an appropriate logo and this is somewhat of a placeholder) lets take a peek at the background. It involves broken jigsaw pieces and downward flowing streaks. The jigsaw gives of a cryptic concept which is fitting because this is a cult styled game. (flicks between past and present)
The streaks give of a horror sort of something bad occurs type view. Considering that the game is about the realities of War it also fits in.
Light pixelisation can also be seen. This is purposeful and gives of a gritty appearance. Yet again fitting.

Now the text.
Obviously it's a War styled font and considering the theme to my game I'd call it fitting.

Now the colour of my background also fades in and out of a red hue with a slow heartbeat.

This gives a hint as to the game being very bloody and adult themed while the heartbeat itself gives a suspensful mood.

Right now looking at your title it says depressing and that is about all. The ability to jump between places is obvious but no subtle hints are noticeable. Maybe a presonality change due to the shadowy figure. (a shadow of a former self?)

Sorry for the double post...

Also, let me describe the picture to you...and the things you may not see.
1. The Text - Shifting from futuristic to medieval feeling.
2. Clock - symbolizes the time changing.
3. The numbers in decimal form - the matrix when shifting
4. Puzzle piece missing - Partial foreshadowing, and showing this as a puzzle game.
5. Hedge Maze - Confusing, and a hard adventure.
6.  Cat eyes - Symbolizes the pets that help the character shift.
7. The Human shifting out of the nether dimension.
8. Faint glimpse of rubiks cube - Complication
9. The tombstone - there will be death.

Wow, nice job with the last one. Keep the image.

Some things you should fix though is the text. Right now it seems slapped on... I dunno. Work on it a little bit. Keep the fonts though. Just change the way it is presented.

It looks really awesome! But I don't see the clock, the numbers, or the rubiks cube. :/  Also, as stated above, the text could use a little work. (Minus the text, though, as a stand-alone without knowing all the in-depth stuff it looks really awesome :D)

Thank you :)

This took me a few hours of work to blend everything, and I am working on making the rubiks cube and the clock a littl emore visible...look under the text to see the decimal numbers.

last one looks quite good, but as it was pointed out, the text DOES look like it was slapped on and needs a little work.

Also, so you don't get warned again... instead of the double post, just edit and add to the previous... :).

that goes really well with the image :), good logos as always Axerax, even with your request station open you're able to pull out one for free :P.

It's called Requiem. Pretty neat font. It was originally from the movie Requiem of a Dream.... But with copyrights they couldn't release the font under that name.

Haha gammer, I thought you had made the text... So infact the ONE thing that made that title screen any good was made by axe? heh and you tell other people that they should use your work over theirs?

The new image is certainly more interesting, but I like the simplicity of the old grayscale one. As nice of a font that is (Axe's) it's too bold and bubbly for a concept such as shifting.

This is a very abstract style your using. To me a title should be simple, and convey the at the very least the genre of the game. When i look at it really doesn't tell me anything, could be a first person shooter for all I know xD, but hey maybe thats the way you want it. You also explained the elements of the title but a title should be self-explanatory in my opinion. If it were me this would be a do over but hey whatever.

I don't understand where the criticism was coming from, that looks really good. Most title screens you see are just meaningless photographs of sunsets or swords or the like, but this conveys a sense of mystery. Makes me want to learn what the game's about, and isn't that the whole point?
Something I'd like to critisize though is the yellow pattern near the person's legs. It looks a bit out of place with all the blue around it, which would normally be fine, but some of the edges on it are a bit too sharp.

I can see the puzzle, I can see the word SHIFTER, I can see the cat eye (after looking at a previous version that had it more prominent) and I can see the person with the electric crotch. What the hell does that have to do with your game?

Objects that elude to features about your game, either in story or gameplay, shouldn't require explanations.

From what I see, your game is about a puzzle piece and electric genitals. Is that what it is about?

Thank you for viewing
