Shattered Gear: Volume II - Revenant

Always outnumbered, but never outgunned.

Creator's Note [5/25/09]:
HUGE UPDATE - This will now be the sequel to "Shattered Gear: Volume I - Illuminatus". I thought out the odds of this game ever coming to fruition in it's ambitious state, and decided to start smaller, to get people familiar with the Shattered Gear world. I've created a second project in Concept Development for the new Volume I. Until then, I declare this thread inactive until further notice. All music will be used in Shattered Gear: Vol.I still, and all the concept art will be essentially the same. Volume I just has a bigger emphasis on the mecha-structure and development of the universe that Volume II will be.[color]

AEGIS GAMES FORUM

Far away in the distant reaches of the universe lies the Renar System, also known as the System of the Silver Sun, which shines with a slightly different color than the one we see every day. Within the Renar System are seven different planets, from the dry deserts of Giza to the ocean-covered planet Atlin. Over the past four years, a horrible war has broken out between two military behemoths, leaving the innocent dead in their wake.

The monstrous Lancastrian Monarchy of the planet Kaczur have declared war on the brawny Gundarian Democratic-Republic. Gundar has seemingly done nothing wrong, but not through Lancaster's eyes. Instead of fighting, Gundar has offered a peace treaty. Lancaster would have none of their deceit, and continue to attack. However, on every single planet, a rebel outpost is placed. The name of the rebels is simply, "The Vanguard." Comprised of elite soldiers trained in many forms of combat, the Vanguard's numbers have risen since the start of the war. Lancaster realizes the danger in this, and quickly allies with the Republic of Atlin, extending its reaches within the Renar System.

The Vanguard, too, has friends in high places in the form of the Renarian Council, the 7 rulers of Renar, all of whom wish to end the war by any means necessary. With the war at a dramatic stalemate four years after its beginning, many are profitting from the deaths of men and women alike. However, Skyler Delgado, a "noble" space pirate, sees no point in joining any side but his own in the war. He steals a little bit from both alliances, deeming himself in the right. However, a fellow space pirate and Skyler's guardian after his father's untimely death by the name of Marcus Renith starts a mutiny against Skyler, casting him overboard and leaving him for dead on the desert planet of Giza.

Now looking for honest work as a bodyguard, Skyler is hired by the Gizan Farming Agency to protect one of the most infamous crop-farmers on the planet and his family. When men wearing the uniform of Lancaster come knocking on their door, events are set in motion, all of which lead to the adventure of a lifetime. Skyler will meet plenty of new people on his journey, with plenty of spoils to plunder, places to visit, friends and enemies alike to be made, and a destiny to be discovered.

Synopsis
Playing the role of the leading man in this new chapter of his story, Skyler joins the Resistance forces who are combatting Lancaster and Atlin. Though he is reluctant to get involved at first, his strong sense of justice and a little convincing from his first real friend since he was cast overboard his ship changed his mind, and he now strives for what thousands of others do and have failed to achieve in four years: peace.

The rag-tag branch of the Vanguard that Skyler joins has developed a secret weapon, known as the X-Gear. Apparently, this weapon is supposed to bring an end to the war with explosive results, much like the atom bomb did for the United States in Hiroshima and Nagisaki in Japan during World War 2. However, as soon as Skyler joins the Vanguard, it is mysteriously stolen. Of course, nobody blames him (openly) for its disappearance, but for some reason, it becomes his job to bring it back. Before he can do that, he'll need to be trained in several fields, such as using the System's vehicles, the Assault Gears.

While Skyler attempts to recover the stolen blueprint, he uncovers a conspiracy, and realizes that there are higher powers behind the war. Now confronted with several obstacles all at once, Skyler must look to the past and find a way to overcome them without help from his new companions, who have been there every step of the way for him until now. In order to get to the bottom of everything, he must become what he swore to his father that he'd destroy: a killer.

Because this game takes place in a kind of futuristic setting, we thought that it would be appropriate to use kinda of a techno-ish approach to tug at the player's emotions in different ways. Each piece written and composed by Syphonmax is unique, and he's getting better all the time. Of course some of his songs require some revision, but not very much of it. We love what we see from him so far, and hope he'll be around for the entire series' development. We'll give you a sample of what we've got so far. Note that by listening to these songs you agree that you can't legally download and use the songs without mine or Syphonmax's permission.

Planets

Mercury III (The Red Planet)
The hottest planet in the Renar System. Survival is only possible thanks to the Rapid Coolant Systems, invented to keep humans cool while inhabiting this planet. A large variety of rare ore is gathered from the mines here, like diamonds or coal.

Giza (The Desert Plant)
Giza's natural oxygen-rich atmosphere and medium amount of water supply allow for small plant and vegetation growth. The TST (Transformative Sand Turbine) has the ability to turn pure sand into water, which is fairly handy to small villages not near a water source, but extremely expensive to maintain and is only used in emergency situations.. Many herbs for medicinal cures can be found here.

Zevan (The Night Planet)
An enormous asteroid field in orbit with Zevan prevents any sun from getting through to the rocky city. Because of this, not very much heat gets to the surface, and most people live underground in manmade shelter where heat from the planet's core penetrates the crust. The asteroids have a very sought-after mineral within them.

Atlin (The Water Planet)
Over 98% of this planet is made of water. The only land above sea level are the four Corsedia Islands. The sealife here is fairly abundant, and the oceans are vast and colorful, making this a coveted getaway spot.

Gundar (The Second Earth)
This planet is the only one that resembles our Earth. It's tilted axis allows for season throughout the entire year. At the top and bottom of the planet, it is always frozen.

Kaczur (The Mining Planet)
80% of the galaxy's resources come from this planet and its three moons. Because of this, job opportunities are applenty, and Kaczur is known as the center of commerce in the Renar System.

Verith (The Ice Planet)
Home to a secret resistance base (and the former base of the FENRIR group), Verith is covered entirely with ice. No one has ventured far away from the three cities that humans have inhabited for the past 45 years, so not much is known about the outlying areas. It is rumored that monsters of some kind live at the core, protecting a very rare object.

Assault Gears
Assault Gears are the main vehicle of choice throughout Shattered Gear. Every battle is won or lost with these suckers. It's nothing less than satisfying to take one of these bad boys down with an AGC-606 [Anti-Gear Cannon], and even more satisfying to pilot one yourself! Skyler starts off with one AG that the Resistance gives him [AG:GX-
00/ZERO] which is the most basic AG design and cheapest to maintain. As you complete more missions, you will be able to steal or purchase more Assault Gears, if you choose.

<[AG:GX-00//ZERO]>
A state-of-the-art basic bipedal infantry unit. Lightly armored, as well as lightly armed, to keep production costs down, this AG is only capable of carrying shell-based weapons, such as machine guns.

<[AG:GX-22//RAVEN]>
A prototype winged Assault Gear. Like its predecessor, it is lightly armored to cut prouction costs, but also makes it more agile while in flight. Can be armed only with shell-based weaponry, but has the option of equipping bombs or missiles.

<[AG:GX-39//ENTITY(PS)]>
The ENTITY is a prototype heavy-fire AG. It supports mainly long-range weapons, but can be modified to support medium-range weapons as well. It is also the first AG to have the Phase Shift [PS] armor added into it's specs, making the Oron Alloy that it's built out of twice as strong.

<[AG:GX-76//SHADOW]>
The SHADOW Assault Gear combines and incredible agility due to its lightweight structure with short to mid-range weaponry and is a deadly combination. The first prototype quad-pedal AG, it is fairly difficult to learn to control, but easy to master. If it takes direct hits, then it becomes useless scrap.

<[AG:GX-99//NEO]>
The GX-99 is a great overall assault gear; it's weapon range is large, and to mercenary pilots who steal them, it's expensive to maintain, which is why it was created for military-purpose only. Made with Neo-Oron, a modified Oron Alloy that is combined with several various metal alloys, the defense of the NEO is great, and coupled with its offensive array of weapons, it is surely a match-maker.

<[AG:GX-101//FORGE]>
The FORGE Assault Gear was a secret project developed by the Vanguard and released about three months prior to the start of the game. The FORGE is a completely redesigned model, implementing several functions that no other Assault Gear use. Because of this, only about fifty were made, as the project overwhelmed developers' budget. Taking their research from the GX-99, they combined the Neo-Oron, with Sylvastium, a metallic composite found in the Kamar Mountaintops. The FORGE is by far the most powerful Assault Gear around. However, only Commanders and the such are able to pilot them.

<[AM-U:LC-516]> or "Genesis"
With data stolen from the Vanguard during an attack on a minor base, the Loyalists redesigned the AG:GX-00/ZERO model to fit better specs for themselves. Not much is different, other than the model's feel and internal design.

<[AM-U:TK-822]> or "Godfist"
Continuing research from the Genesis project, the Royal Army created "Godfist", a close-combat specialist Armored Mech Unit. They have knuckles fitted on the end of their arms, modified with special ARC-Ray formatting, which will shock the enemy mech's system, paralyzing it. Considered very dangerous, the Godfist is heavily-armored, and can only be taken down safely at a long distance.

<[AM-U:GG-268]> or "Sniperwolf"
Fitted with a high-power energy-converting ballistic auto-fire sniper rifle, the Sniperwolf is a redesign of the SHADOW in the way that it is a quadpedal mech. Aside from the ZZM55 energy rifle fitted onto its back, the Sniperwolf has energy-propelled "chainguns" attached to its shoulders, so if things should get heated, the G-268 has some backup. The first Union AG equipped with a self-destruct sequence.

<[VULCAN: Model 001 - VX-Genesis2]>
The first prototype in the VULCAN Assault Gear series, VX-Genesis2 is the first heavily-armed unit still in mass production. With the discovery that Oron can increase an AGs defense, the VULCAN series began, with Genesis2. Coupling amazing defense borrowed from Godfist, with an integral sensor array and the ability to increase ammunition storage for their weapons.

<[VULCAN: Model 002 - VX-Raptor]>
The second model in the VULCAN series, the VX-Raptor is an agile prototype, another counter-part to the Vanguard's SHADOW Assault Gear. Low defense, high agility mech.

<[VULCAN: Model 003 - VX-Exodus]>
The third model in the VULCAN series, the VX-Exodus is multi-purpose Assault Gear, baring resemblances to the Vanguard's GX-99/NEO Assault Gear. It's statistics are slightly lower, however, making it easier and cheaper to manufacture. It is almost an exact replica of the GX-99.

Nations, Factions, and Organizations
There is a lot more going on than just a simple war in the Renar System, but who's behind it? I'm afraid I can't tell you that here, but I CAN tell you the major players involved. Here's a rundown on every single group within the first volume of Shattered Gear: Volume I - Revenant;

~THE FREELANCE ALLIANCE~
The FLA is an assembly of several mercenary and vigilante groups, as well as one or two political groups. The founding organization, ARRM (Anti-Royalist Resistance Movement, a.k.a., The Vanguard) and its allies, the Empire of Zevan, the Gundarian Federation, MetaCorp., and secretly, the Renarian Council.

~THE RADICAL ROYALIST UNION~
The RRU only consists of three entities; The Lancastrian Monarchy, the Atlinian Republic, and the mercenary group, the Blackwater Corporation. Lancaster and Atlin handle political affairs, and most of the time BC handles the dirty stuff. Slade-Tech Industries, however, is a branch of BCorp. that produces weapons for humans as well as AGs.

Weapons
What good is a space pirate (or a rebel) if they don't have reliable resources? And by resources I mean weapons of massive destruction. Skyler has always been iffy about using guns, even before he became a space pirate. His motto is "if you're too scared to get your hands dirty, you don't belong in a war", and so he does just that... in style. His Lightsword, which he himself named "Shallow Vengeance", a symbol of his father's passing. However, this isn't the only weapon Skyler can use in the game. Below is an in-depth list of weapons and some of the things that make them different from the rest.

Shallow Vengeance
A one-handed lightsword that harnesses pure human energy. There is no ignition button or secret password to use it; it's only ignited when the user's body's conditions meet the requirements to do so. How does this work, you ask? All Skyler needs to do to turn this weapon on is simply focus. It responds to a certain energy released from humans through emotion. Because of the unpredictability of this weapon, it has been banned throughout the entire galaxy, as it was mass-produced for use by every major nation. Skyler's father gave him one before he was killed by a rival space pirate, known as Sarmuc Therin. This weapon is Skyler's favorite, and therefore has the most available skills that he can learn. However, to balance the weapons out evenly, even at its highest level of possible upgradability, it's still considerably weak. A "Jack of all trades, master of none," just like Skyler himself. At its maximum level, the Shallow Vengeance becomes the Savior's Oath. This weapon has no other special abilities

Reaper's Heir
A scythe with a chain attached to the energy blade, which is then attached to a metallic handle. It wouldn't seem like the ideal weapon for dispatching enemies, but is the fastest weapon you can attack with, which makes this weapon necessary in emergency situations. The Reaper's Heir can attach to several objects within the game, including the tops of buildings, walls, sticks coming out of walls, and several other ones. At its maximum level, the Reaper's Heir becomes the Devil's Apprentice, which is actually a complete scythe, but the blade can separate with its signature chain, which has greater reach than its predecessors, making combat more satisfying, as well as platforming.

Rogue's Edge
A dual-edged lightsword. Considerably more useful when faced against seemingly impossible odds, this weapon also makes it possible for Skyler to glide short distances, allowing for more platforming possibilities for exploration and discovery. When at its maximum level, the Rogue's Edge becomes the Assassin's Crescendo, and actually becomes two weapons, allowing Skyler to glide further and even rise in mid-air before gliding.

Philosopher's Dagger
A small-ish dagger that is rumored to give the user a wealth of wisdom and knowledge. This weapon can pick electronic locks that would normally be inaccessible to Skyler. Recommended for use during stealthy infiltration missions to silence would-be enemies. At it's highest level, the Philosopher's Dagger becomes the Wiseman's Knife, and can pick any lock it comes across, also gaining an inch or two in length.

Hero's Archblade
The broadsword of the SG universe. Two handed and heavier than any weapon in the game, the Hero's Archblade slows Skyler down considerably. However, this weapon is favored when facing AGs head on without on of your own around. This weapon can also break cracked walls, allowing for, yes, even more exploration. At its maximum level, the Hero's Archblade becomes the Paladin's Oath, and can break down walls faster, as well as take down AGs and other vehicles with its large reach much easier.

Shooting Star
The one and only long-range weapon in Shattered Gear. Essentially, this is just a bow that fires off energy-based projectiles, which are limited. Skyler can use the Teleporter Arrow to reach greater heights he wouldn't be able to with any other weapon, but while there is a portal opened resulting from the use of the Teleporter Arrow, Skyler must leave the Cloud Splitter behind. Not recommended for close quarters combat, there is a large variety of Arrows Skyler can acquire to use in battle, as well as travel and exploration. At its highest level, the Shooting Star becomes the Supernova, which will have unlimited arrows of whatever type is equipped, and can shoot the farthest distances.

Wyvern's Tail
A long whip made entirely out of energy. The overflow of energy in this weapon can open locked doors that would otherwise prove to be an obstacle to Skyler. Ideal for stealthy missions, this weapon can wrap itself around enemies silently and stun them, rendering them ineffective. At its highest level, te Wyvern's Tail becomes the Dragon's Crest, and its range is greater, and it can unlock doors faster and with more precision without triggering any alarms.

Warrior's Spirit
The only material-based weapon in the game. Nothing more than a primitive greataxe. Made of a type of broken down Oron metal, the Warrior's Spirit is obtained by Naoshi, who claims that an ancient and powerful warrior used it to slay over ten thousand men who intended to overthrow the warrior's kingdom. It has no other potential use other than killing enemies and destroying AGs more effectively than the weapons you will have at the time you obtain it [depending on how much time you take to upgrade your weapons]. It becomes the only weapon you can use throughout the Trial of Destiny, in which Skyler seeks redemption for his sins from the gods on Giza.

Risen Demon
The Risen Demon is the secret weapon you get within Shattered Gear. A two handed sword, it allows Skyler to teleport anywhere on the planet he's currently in with ease, at a cost of his health. At its maximum level, the Risen Demon becomes the Fallen Angel, and requires even less health to teleport. Fairly reliable in combat.

I would be glad to help with the story in my spare time (Although I can honestly say, I do not much care for VX T_T).

I noticed allot of the little intricacies are missing (as in habits and or sayings and the like) and would love to work on that sort of thing. Contrary to what you said, more people would rather go to an extreeme of just light or fanatical dark, making them more of an underground sect of the church rather than open, also with the inherent friendly nature of the people, more of them are likely to worshippe the god of light rather than the god of darkness.

Also, all those advancements happened a little fast. From when things become electronics to "instant" in our world was roughly a 40 year period, not to mention our (as a general culture) trying to get away with that (we are just perhaps getting to the peak of our fast culture). There will be disputes, differences in opinion and other such things happening to slow progress. 40 years between the invention of electronics and space flight is pretty preposterous unless "Neo-earth" is hovering along the same course of normal earth (about as close as we are to our moon), since we are not even planning on flying to Mars (closest planet in our solar system) unless we think of something pretty amazing like unlocking the secrets of artificial and anti-gravity (due to the fact that people can't stay in space without their biological functions failing). I noticed allot of grammatical errors in your posts as well.

The high level of detail is pretty cool though.

Will be gone the week after next.

Ta-ta for now!

Well, to prevent spoiling a part of the game, I'll use spoiler tags for ya =P

Neo-Earth was actually a joint project by Russia, the United States, as well as the minds of the Japanese. It wasn't exactly "space-travel" per se, more of a placebo effect of words. Where they actually are is underground, in a large structure called Sub-Earth. The three governments had been drilling and removing rocks underground for at least a hundred years as part of the "Analysis Project" that they collaborated on. And just recently, around 2025, the project was finished. Inside Sub-Earth were millions of Life Pods, where the people of Earth would be taken and set into their own new world. The entire reason for the Analysis Project was to study humans who have left behind the technology that they knew to "repopulate" an entire planet. The Analysis Project is actually virtual reality, a 3D conversion of what the three governments want the volunteers to see. So, these people spend their entire lives asleep. If their virtual selves are killed, they will wake up in the Life Pod. After that, scientists will analyze every human function of the person that awoke, and they will be taken to an alternate virtual reality, that they call Neo-Heaven. Nobody knows what Neo-Heaven is, because the ones who go there never get out alive in reality.

However, if someone dies of actual old-age within Neo-Earth, then their bodies will be disposed of in reality. While participants of the Analysis Project will think that they are actually reproducing, they are actually combining the data of two virtual lifeforms [the man and the woman] to create new virtual data, which will have all the human characteristics a person could think of.

And as for the worshiping thing, no matter who they worship, they believe in all three. Same goes for a modern religion, like Christianity. Even though you worship God or Jesus, you certainly believe in Satan. Otherwise, you can't be called a true Christian. So, while people openly worship Xuran or Azaros, as long as you belong to the Church of the Trinity, you believe and study all three. A lot of people, not out of pure dedication, but curiosity, have studied all three gods. Xuran represents Darkness, not necessarily evil. There are dark things in all peoples' hearts; hatred, anger, greed, lust. By worshiping Xuran, you're not saying that you encourage those things. You're saying that you've come to terms with them, but simply choose not to change. Of course, by worshiping Azaros, you're saying that you are a kind-hearted person, but you aren't perfect. Which brings me to Balik. Balik teaches people that whether you're innocent or evil, you, as a human, have a tendency to choose which you are at what point in your life. Balik doesn't discourage light or dark, he simply states that you are made up of both, and it is your choices that affect yourself and the people around you. The people themselves believe that the god that they chose will bring them to Nirvana, or the place of perfection and paradise, just as many believe that believing in God or Jesus will grant you access into Heaven, or believing that Satanic worship will let you into a kinder, gentler Hell in which you only suffer the pain you choose upon yourself, or even immortality altogether.

EDIT: That was also a mistake in my signature =P It's actually RMXP. That should make you feel a little better.

Holy plot twist o'Maly.

Kinda reminds me of The Matrix though. In a different way. The timeline for VR though is still a long way away though... Well, that's just me nit-picking. Will characters work at hacking once they find out the GINORMOUS lie they have been living? Oh! And what happens to the virtual babies once the entire thing is shut down as I'm suspecting it will be? Seismic activity could probably be a detriment as well. Floor space is a problem, or are they in a pillar arrangement like in the movie? Labs and the like also require space and vehicles to actually get to the pods and are there any downsides to being stuck in the same position for all of your life? Also, do appearances (hairstyle, facial fixes, ect.) and the body's physical state transfer over?

I also see your point in Christianity, but there would certainly be a taboo on the darker aspects, and note: I am not familiar with Satanic worship. Satan-ism (for lack of a better word) is not hoidy-toidy out in our modern society, you don't see many churches flaunting themselves in the open, it's more of an underground operation. Well, that's my point really.

Also, X and Z are used WAY too often, Azaros sounds like Azeroth which is probably well known out the wazoo, and those words don't sound rooted in some sort of word that would be native to our tongue. Somebody has to think them up, and usually that involves using a common word or sound.

Read this (or just make the sounds):
Arma virumque cano, Trojæ qui primus ab oris
    Italiam, fato profugus, Lavinaque venit
Litora; multum ille et terris jactatus et alto
Vi superum, sævæ memorem Junonis ob iram.

And say these names:

Hermes
Apollon
Ares
Hades
Dionysus
Demetra

It fits because the sounds are similar. There is a reason that there are few words that begin with X (or Z for that matter). The sounds they make in frount of a word do not fit seamlessly because of borrowed words. Xylophone is borrowed because the actual instrument is not from Europe. Yogurt is a Turkish word and they sound entirely different than people who speak German and French. Hall is a Germanic based word, meaning that when the Goths and Vikings were invading the Romans (who would rather say corridor, since it is Latinac), we English speaking people got the blunt end of both sticks and now have bouth languages in our system. The Germanic being more informal and the Latinac being more high-class language (dead vs. mortified).

Holy rantimoly!

And the VX thing: Yesh it does. Because of the horrid lack of flexibility of VX (which I discovered after about 3 minutes of fiddling around).

Hm, I see your point with the Satanism [zomg Firefox says that it's a word!] part. It would make sense that devil-worship would be underground, as the public eye frown upon it. However, have you any names for the gods of the Holy Trinity? Balik seemed fine with you. It doesn't really matter what the hell their names are XD But when you said what you did, it made me doubt what I wrote. I'm sure you've got a couple ideas up your sleeve. Start a-firin' yer laser! O_o

Drake will most certainly be looking for a way out. I actually got the idea from Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, where the main characters Fayt, Cliff, Nell, and... well, actually, ALL of them, were part of a game that was created by the "real world" and each of the main characters was actually created by a person in the "real world." Think of it as a Sims rip-off, only higher-quality. Once the main characters discovered that they were only part of this game, they tried to find a way out so they could defeat their creator, who was wreaking havoc on their world. Similar in a few ways, Drake and his friends will eventually defeat the Monarchy of Lancaster [of course], and discover that there is a higher power at work. There is only one way to snap out of being in Neo-Earth, and that is to die. But there are literally thousands of scientists that study at least a few hundred volunteers an hour, individually. So once someone wakes up from their coma-esque state, they will immediately be transferred to the testing wing of Sub-Earth.

As for the cyber babies and the adults that they grow up to be, unless they find a way to escape the grip of the Analysis Project's laws [such as, when inhuman data dies, it is deleted], will probably be erased with the remainder of the project. However, if people are still within the cyber reality when the heroes destroy the computers that control the Analysis Project, they'll be in comas for the remainder of their lives. And that's MILLIONS of people that are apart of the project. There will be one piece of data that will escape with the main characters, but that's not for a while later =P

Seismic activity, never really thought about that. Got me there. I suppose that the governments would've taken that into consideration. Since it's 2085, there's a high probability that they would've studied how to prevent earthquakes from disturbing the entire project, like walls made of a really solid metal. An alloy of about 2% beryllium and 97% nickel, with a touch of titanium. It has an ultimate tensile strength of 300,000 psi, and 245,000 psi yield strength! This is 375% stronger than the best high tensile steel. The tensile strength of 98.5% beryllium is about 58,000 psi, so it seems to do a lot better when mixed with other metals. Coupling that with shock-resistance barriers on the outside of the walls made of the metal that the governments call 2B-97N/1T, which is the formula for the alloy.

And as for floor space, there are thousands of sectors across the world, all of which are underground. Each sector has two letters and two numbers to identify it. Each person in that sector has a 7-letter ID number. For every 5,000 volunteers in a certain sector, they're assigned 50 observants to study them, 100 people per observant. Every shape, hair color, facial hair, organ, even down to the last skin cell, is accumulated into the code that transfers the volunteer into cyber-reality. That, as well, has a unique code, though it's at least a quarter of a million figures and letters. That way, like human DNA, there can be no code exactly alike, even with identical twins. Every piece of the real you is sent into A.D.A., or the Automated DNA Analysis computer, pronounced, "Ay-Duh". You're then calibrated into Neo-Earth as a "human."

Finally, for being in the same position for your entire life, there are several downsides. If you wake up and are somehow freed from Sub-Earth, you will not be able to walk around, or even move most of your body parts. That's because over the years of your life in a comatose state, your muscles were never needed, and therefore slowly weakened and deteriorated. Alternately, if the government wants to study a volunteer of the Analysis Project in the real world, they will give them a dose of Schlorosepathane, a drug that will regulate heartbeats, breathing intervals, and restore muscle deterioration, allowing them to function as a normal human being. If you don't receive any Schlorosepathane, you won't be able to move hardly any of your muscles, and if you go into some kind of panic mode, you'll likely suffer death from a heart attack.

If they are brothers more than likely they are going to have a similar name. Fayboor, Soland, Treador, for a new triplet and Bolak and Bartom for a replacement name. People are silly when it comes to that. I just noticed that English almost always has a beginning and end with a consonant. Book, God, Folly... ANYWHO and ORLY?! Darn my spell check.

I had gotten to that point in Star Ocean, had to return it though, although the enemies were WAY TOO FREAKEN HARD at that point from my runny instincts. I like story mostly in a RPG >_>

How would the entrapment work for the comas? Is it a psychological thing were the mind believes that nothing exists or a bad case of life support gone awry (the machine actually tapping into the brain)?

Note that beryllium is rather expensive, $750 a pound is ridiculous when you think that just about everything is going to be made of it, a government is going to have a short cut or two for certain. Mind you they could have discovered the next best thing as well...

750/lb for beryllium (2%)
4.38/lb for titanium (1%)
23.7/lb for nickle (97%)

1lb of alloy would cost 15 (Bi) + .04 (Ti) + 22.98 (Ni) Total: 38.02 per pound and would be around 8.7248kg/cu_m

Dimensions for millions of people: (going to work in metric right about now and then convert)

Avg person is 1.5m x .3m x .3m not to mention the pod that they are probably connected to being around 2m x 1m x 2m (like in the Matrix)

Pod along pod is 4m not to mention a giant tower that services them (More from the Matrix..) roughly around 6m for a total of 10 m length wise. Now going upwards its probably around 20m tall, the pods are 2m across that makes for 4 pods per layer on the tower and 19 going upwards for 76 pods per tower.

565.2 cu_m for the tower alone and 304 cu_m for the pods making a total of 869.2 cu_m on the tower for 76 people.

Imagine exactly 1,000,000 people joined the program, that is equal to 13158 towers (well there will be an extra pod or so, but who's counting?).

Now if the pods and tower are made of say 50% of the material, 5,718,466.8 cu_m at a density of 8.7248 k/cu_m = 49,892,479.14 kg of material equal to 110,012,916.5 lb of material which should roughly cost $4,182,691,085.33. Not to mention the actual WALLS AND OTHER BUILDINGS OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND THE MATERIALS AND THE PAYROLL FOR THE WORKERS!!!

Wow I feel like a nerd >_>

That triplet is now the official Holy Trinity. Thanks. =D

The governments, in anticipation of all of this, had saved up at least a couple billion dollars each, specifically for this project. And as the time went by, they decided to get a lot more money by faking a fuel crisis, and increasing the price of fossil fuels in an attempt to keep up with the expenses that are accompanied with the project. In actuality, there is no shortage of fossil fuels, and there is enough to keep the world going for at least 70 more years. Also, the governments have banned electric cars, the one that run on batteries, all for the purpose of the project. Over the years, the governments have gotten tens of billions of dollars, all for the project.

And I don't plan on using any towers to service the pods. I plan on using a central control system computer, A.D.A., the same thing that allows you to be created in the virtual reality. Thus eliminating part of the expenses. So, $4 billion is really nothing to any of the governments, and the full $8 billion shouldn't be an issue with this logic, either. Sure, it'll be huge and strong, but it certainly has it's weaknesses. The overall payroll doesn't really matter, because a lot of them are underpaid anyways. That's how the United States rolls =P

Yay!, but I see no editing >_>

Oh snap! But wouldn't there be outrage from the cost of Fuel prices and the need to find alternative fuel sources? Also, presidents last only four years, and someone would be wondering where all the money goes.

A.D.A. is also a computer from Zone of the Enders I+II. Verrrrrry insterestin'. Abbreviation stands for? Also the project would probably have an abbreviated name as well, like the P.A.T.R.I.O.T act.

I would imagine several computers would be needed. One in, one out, one constantly checking the input, one to catalog the output, one to sort out everything and finally, one for the scientists for their experimentations and analyzations.

Also, where are the people kept?

I like arguing because it makes you know your material XD

BTW! You have now been mentioned in the Weekly Going-ons
HERE!

Yeah, couldn't get around to it last night. I was talking to a "business partner" of mine. President of Marketing for AEGIS Games =D So I'll add it in right now.

Indeed, Presidents do last only four years in the US. In an attempt to keep the least amount of knowledge known to the public, Presidents sign contracts written by Congress members, stating that they will not leak any information pertaining or relating to the Analysis Project. The Presidents are basically held prisoner in the White House, because every single room is bugged, with cameras, too, monitored by the Russian President and Japanese Prime Minister. However, the Russian President is also monitored by the American President and the Prime Minister of Japan, as well as the Prime Minister being monitored by the American and Russian Presidents. Because the governments have their eyes on each other, the chances of anyone related with the project announcing their dealings in public are extremely low; especially since each country has special forces stationed in the other two nations, so they can assassinate the leader or traitor before information is leaked. This is called the Three Nation Alliance Act. You won't find it on any government documents, because the agreement is to be known by only the governmental leaders; the governments themselves have only been briefed on keeping tabs on their leader. Because the Presidents only last four years, the polls are arranged and scripted for the public, much like in Metal Gear Solid 2, where the Patriots control the entire government. This way, there is no need for a briefing for a new President, until his two terms are up. Once his two terms are up, however, the ex-President himself is sent to an arranged living space, while the First Lady and her children are allowed to remain in America. New Presidents/Ministers that are elected will be briefed on the entire situation by Congress or their government's members.

Also, there are tons of movements towards lowering fuel costs, and there are even extremists that threaten the governments. At a certain point, the governments released a cheaper, yet less-efficient bio-fuel, called Ensoline. Because of its inefficiency, it only lasts three quarters as long as actual gasoline, and is cheap to produce. At about $1.45 a gallon, Ensoline is the alternate choice of most humans, rather than the $6.74 a gallon for gasoline. However, because Ensoline is made of all-natural resources that you find around the house [and nobody but the governments know that], it costs next to nothing to produce, so the profit of $1.45 a gallon [or equal to that in other currencies] all around the world also contributes to the project. Only the rich and upper class members of society even bother purchasing gasoline anymore. And there are plenty of upper class members in America.

I've never played Z.o.E., so I'm not sure what that A.D.A. stands for there. My A.D.A. stands for "Automated DNA Analysis" computer. It's what is used to transfer your human life code [hair color, body size, etc.] into Neo-Earth. And I just realized that A.D.A. only has one purpose, and that's mentioned above. So, I guess it would make more sense to have multiple computer databases. Listed below, thanks to your input;

- A.D.A. [Automated DNA Analysis]: Creates your virtual self by processing every single cell and atom in your body. Takes about five hours to fully complete.

- I.G.P. [Input-Generating Program]: This computer files through the millions of pieces of data that are inputted hourly and logs it on a satellite database, where files can be searched for, as long as you have the ID Code of the volunteer and the time of day you're searching for.

- O.G.P. [Output-Generating Program]: This computer files through the millions of pieces of data that are produced hourly and logs it on a satellite database, where files can be searched for, as long as you have the ID Code of the volunteer and the time of day you're searching for.

- A.D.A.M. [Artificially Determined Algorithm Monitor]: A.D.A.M. is a satellite-controlled computer that sorts out the information sent in from both the I.G.P. and the O.G.P. A.D.A.M. databases all of the information numerically, alphabetically, and by all sorts of other categories, such as race, religion, age, build, complexion, etc.

- C.L.A.I.R. [Cluster of Liquidated Artificial Intelligence Reserve]: This program is what the scientists and engineers use to determine the condition of the volunteers. It shows their vital signs, brain wave patterns, and pulse, as well as blood flow, bodily injuries, and the likeness.

Link polx to web-site >_>

You have to have an E.V.E!

That would be horrible nonetheless but still, an A.D.A.M. without an E.V.E would be like bread without butter >_<

Eco-mechanical
Variable
Environment

Where the Neo-earth actually takes place and or processed, although that is pretty cliched. Created by Eve and stored in Adam.

All that conspiratorial stuff is pretty horrible >_>

I wish we had a website. He's actually still working on it. I'm only fifteen, after all. Too lazy to get a job at the moment, and other things are taking priority, such as getting spriters and artists for the game.

That's actually one of the funniest things I've heard. "Created by Eve and stored in Adam."

And yeah, I can see the conflict in players if there's an A.D.A.M. and no E.V.E. Makes sense. And yeah. conspiracies ftw.

Double-post/bump:

We officially have some music to work with, and I'm proud to announce our newest member to the team, Syphonmax.

We have a logo being developed as you read this, and we have set up an official AEGIS Games site, with forums: http://www.freewebs.com/aegisgames/index.htm

Development of Demo Build v.01 will begin once we have the basics. New list that shows our progress, and approximate time we should be finished with the demo and trailer.

I thought I put it up? You're not a writer up there? And for those who don't know yet, we got an awesome new logo from my buddy Ryozen Tsumiya. Epic win =D

EDIT: Lol, I just reread what you said, and I have no idea what you're talking about?

Lol, thanks Hayden >_>

An important announcement, we're now having a character contest for both the tech demo [dubbed Shattered Gear: Valiance], as well as the full game, Shattered Gear: Volume 1 - Revenant. Details are provided towards the top of the first post. Kinda hard to miss. It's in orange >_>

-Name: Lukas Kappel (even though the rest of this post is pretty stupid, i seriously like this name)

-Picture: can i edit in later?

-Small Background: he likes small women and pokemon. He once owned a pikachu that was like level 99. Later he found out he lieked mudkip, so he used his pikachu to lure little ones, he was arrested later that day. Some government agency that realized his potential to use machine robots with gunz wanted to recruit him, (lol, pikachu and little ones are related somehow, you'll find a way) so they are all like: "get out of jail, chmon, you need to keel these guyz for us, we are not as manly as thee"

-Age: 9000+ (it doesn't matter, 'cause he's some immortal guy, not like chuck norris though...)

-Quote: "I swear, i thought she was my daughter!"
"lol! did you see that kid i ran over? yeah she was pretty hawt"
"no, i whited out! .....Gary mother f****ng Oak, you bastard!  *throws gameboy*"

*This is to inspire people to post more serious entries like mine (.... it obviously isn't)*

btw can i get a B& now?
