So I'm moving in with my girlfriend. It's a big deal here in Costa Rica for two unwed people to move in together. I had to talk to my parents. She had to talk to her parents. My parents would like to meet her parents. And I don't know what I got myself into. :specs:

nah im just kidding man but for real good luck!!! ive been there several times and down here is also heavily spanish and its a HUGE DEAL for unwed boys and girls in a relationship to move in as well. causes all kinds of controversy. I love mexicans, they are chill as fuck but i cant stand some ideals in the outdated bronze age culture.

If I was attempting to protect some strings sent over a network, is there a specific way I should be doing it, or do I just mangle, send, and unmangle the string and hope no one manages to reverse-engineer it (not that anyone could be bothered for such a small app, but for future reference)

I only got away with it because she doesn't know how to cook or clean. Her dad laughed when we moved in together after warning me. At one point, he actually said, "No exchanges or returns."

A dead simple method is to XOR with a mask, adobe "protected" their raw passwords by XOR'ing with the word "adobe" (don't be so stupid as to do that).

I actually copy SSL's method of encryption, but that is probably overkill for you.

If it is sending between sessions you could XOR it with the name of the sender/receiver so you'd have to know the network details to be able to know the XOR mask.

My computer died on Monday during a power cut, the PSU, CPU, motherboard and RAM decided to all just die somehow, and one of my hard drives (That has all my gammacking stuff on) went corrupt and I lost EVERYTHING on it... so y'know what? Fuck game making!

... Good news is I used it as an excuse to just completely upgrade my computer anyways, lol.
