@hybrida: I lost interest after Lost Galaxy. About the same time I got a Playstation and started playing Final Fantasy.
I was really filling up on space adventures around that time. The previous season was In Space, and at night I'd watch Star Trek Voyager in my room. Lights off. Glow-in-the-dark stickers on the ceiling. Oh, and Star War's 20th anniversary re-release around that time too.
Trying to remember exactly how I went from all that into the occult. X-Files maybe?

Some serious technical issues are arising with my game. Everything works fine, but it's flawed in design (offline mode will be very difficult to build and the database still has a strong dependency).
The peer detection still requires network. I am considering taking the parts that are definitely working and rewriting once again. Means I'll cancel the alpha.
Not sure what to do. The more I work on the code the more I see that I'm locking out features in the future that are critical.

There's more problems than just lack of offline. The character lock system is failing which means multiple devices can control one character.
I was cutting corners by using the database as the game's data storage, which means that any event - even offline events - need to publish to the server to get received on the device unless I write some hacks to forward the event.
There was definitely a "correct" way to do this and I failed to do that due to trying to hit an alpha milestone.
