if he doesn't even bother to comb his hair, i doubt he will put any effort into hair productsSaukrates":19nietgd said:Glitchfinder":19nietgd said:On the subject of cutting long hair, my family has been pressuring my brother to cut his. But then, that's because it's a blonde frizzy mess past his shoulders that he doesn't take care of and can't even comb any more.
Tell him to invest in an SLS free shampoo, and silicone/anything-cone free conditioner and to deep condition with either conditioner or olive oil at least once per week, and to wash hair in cool water (decreasing temperature periodically until it's as cold as he can handle). Slightly towel dry his hair then let air dry, and to brush his hair with a wide toothed comb from the ends up to the roots once his hair is completely dried, then to go over it again to make sure it's all nice and neat.
Also, for maintenance, 1/2 inch off every 6 weeks.
im not a dude (so it's more obvious that i've done it), but i've had my hair at nearly every length, in a bajillion styles, and dyed to nearly every color of the spectrum. it was only after all that experimenting that i was able to settle on a color and style i liked and could faithfully maintain.Juan J. there's more of a social stigma that revolves around men doing ~fancy~ hair things but my point is that you'll never know what you like best until you try enough things to make an educated opinion ~
(just please don't do frosted tips, i hated that so much in the 90's and i'm so happy it's not a fad anymore, ugh)
