The reason I chose Onyx was because Onyx can be both black and white. Given the nature of the teams in this game, I felt it was appropiate.

You are a new Pokémon trainer. You've used a flying service to come to your Aunt and Uncles house, where you'll get your first Pokémon, from Professor Pine (Name still Tentative), who happens to be your uncle. After picking your first Pokémon, a trainer (whom you name) will come into your uncle's lab and request a Pokémon. Your uncle tells you that he's a new trainer, just like you. The rival laughs at the idea of comparing himself, son of a gym leader, to a nobody like yourself. You and the trainer battle.

Later on, after beating your rival, you'll go to the next town and run into another new trainer, named David, who's had a fear of Pokémon, but now wants to become a trainer to get over his fear, at the encouragement of his parents. You escort him to Professor Pine, and he gets the other starter Pokémon. David leaves, and promises that if you run into each other, you can have a nice battle. Professor Pine gives you your Pokedex, and now you're off on a Pokémon journey!

Early in the game you run into two thugs fighting each other, each one belonging to a different team. You help one of them, thus changing the game into either a battle against Team Luna or a battle against Team Sola.

Some parts of the game will be the same no matter what, like gyms and towns, and other events. Some parts of the game where Team Sola/Luna is involved will be the same event, but switched team. Also, there will be some events exclusive to either Team Sola or Team Luna.

Eventually, you learn that Team Luna (If you side with Team Sola) is trying the create a world without day. If you sided with Team Luna, you will learn that Team Sola is trying to create a world without night. Either way, you, the hero/heroine has to stop them somehow.

The game takes place in a region, who's name is TBA. It is a region primarily composed of land.

*New Type combonations, such as GRASS/GROUND and DRAGON/ELECTRIC.

With your mapping, definately add a lot more items -different grass, flowers etc. and add less formality to the shape of the trees etc. -they're incredible straight and boxed at the moment.
Your pokemon aren't bad, but there isn't much difference between the starters and the fully evolved. Pokemon should be very different looking by the time that they're fully evolved, not just bigger with different colours. The psychic ones remind me too much of Magnemite and the bears look like Ursaring so I'd try to be more original with their forms if I were you.

Pokemon Names are very hard to come up with and he even said they're tentative so he'll probably change them...

Looks good so far but you really need a spriter for the pokemon. Good thing you changed the names to Luna and Sola better than shine and shade (or whatever it was). Will there be a demo after you fix the maps up?

I realized the Stego's were in Pokemon Windchasers after coming up with them, and since they're my least favorite starters, I'll probably scratch the idea and come up with something new.

I will be fixing the maps up, but I can't promise on a demo because I've yet to find a good battle system.


EDIT: Also, Pokemon names are hard for me to come up with, so if anyone has ideas, I'd appreciate them.

EDIT 2: About the starters evolutions not being drastically different. I noticed how some starters, like the Kanto ones, sometimes had a big change (Like, Charmeleon evolving to Charizard, who has wings). However, there are some that don't change much. IMO, especilly the johto ones, who I like alot. Totodile's concept isn't much different from Feraligater. Same can be said with Cyndaquil and Chikorita. And, well atleast for the new grass starter when I can think of one, I'm going to have it evolve into something much different than it's previous two forms.

EDIT 3: Yes, those psychic types are similar to Mageneton. However, they evolve in a dissimilar way. And, it is kind of hard too not run into similarities with already 386+ Pokemon out there.

EDIT 4: Also, I don't how many original Pokemon are gonna be in this game, but I doubt I have the skill or creativity to make 50+ new Pokemon. That's why if anyone wants to join my team to be a Pokemon designer I would appreciate it. Also, if you don't want to be on my team, but have an idea for a Pokemon, go ahead and PM it to me, and there's a good chance I'll use it in my game. It's best if you PM a drawing of it (The quality doesn't matter, as sooner or later it'll be in sprite form)

Kaze i have to agree also the town where u meet david and the first town with the gym look to similar. You have too many trees and not enough detail to the village i'd say deffinatly work on that. The Pokémon designs are good for paint (if thats what there made on im guessing they are) i think maybe try to find a designer who can make your ideas above into pictures with more quality. The storys good, i really like the idea of luna and sola trying to stop day and night etc. I look forward to seeing how this project progresses.

Charizard and Feraligatr are very different from Charmeleon and Totodile. Their final evolutions look a lot more detailed and stronger than the ones that you have designed, so it's worth putting more effort into them.

Yeah, but their make-up is completely idential to magneton, just differently shaped.

There may be 386+ pokemon out there, but the options for designing monsters are infinite. Just try to put more thought and detail into each design.

I might end up scratching this project, and doing a 'game version' of something I made up around 2 years ago, called 'Pokemon Shadow Version'. It was on the NSider Forums (Back than I was copying and pasting from tilesets, so it looks kinda crappy on the mapping)

Also, back than, I made a good number (50+) of original pokemon, not in designs, but ideas, and I i'll use some of those with my current ideas. I find it funny back than I made a Dark/Poison pokemon, and that was before that new one that's coming out in D/P (Dorapion, I think).

Evolved from Omnicat when Omnicat has maximum Toughness, this is the ideal pokemon for tough contests. It learns moves available to this pokemon only, although they aren't ideal for battleing. It is said that all contestants in a Tough Contest fear this cat. It is gigantic, and has big, saber-tooth fangs, and its fur is colored brown.

065 - Cutaiden
Evolved from Omnicat when Omnicat has maximum cuteness, this is the ideal pokemon for cute contests. It learns moves available to this pokemon only, although they aren't ideal for battleing. It is said that all contestants in a cute Contest fear this cat. It is small, and has cute, white whiskers, has big cute eyes, and is pink.

066 = Coolline
Evolved from Omnicat when Omnicat has maximum coolness, this is the ideal pokemon for cool contests. It learns moves available to this pokemon only, although they aren't ideal for battleing. It is said that all contestants in a cool Contest fear this cat. It is medium sized, has 2 black whiskers (one on each side), hardly ever opens its eyes, and is brick red.
