well i heard in Switzerland or sweeden or something passed a bill to say that all information crossed over the internet can be policed... which is a very very very scary thought. People's privacy isn't held very highly!
but i suppose that crime as a whole would be lower, but taxes would be much higher to cater for all this!

All information passing into and out of Sweden can legally monitored by the police and probably is logged. You cannot know whether your information is going through Sweden or not. (Who knows what way the routing picks)
I would believe the official reason is Terrorism rather than Piracy.
