For the most part, I agree with Ven.  I actually think the graphics were really good, but hey, I just entered the current gen, so...

Here's hoping Unleashed will do the trick, because the Daytime levels where you play as normal Sonic look badass, but wtf is up with "Were-hog"? I mean... MAN!! AND SEGA TEAM PLEASE STOP PUTTING SONIC INTO WEIRD ASS GAMES LIKE SONIC AND THE SECRET RINGS AND SONIC AND THE BLACK KNIGHT! SONIC IS NOT MEANT TO GO THERE HE IS MEANT TO RUN AND SAY COOL THINGS LIKE "Cool!" AND "Let's Go!" AND TAILS IS SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW HIM AROUND AND NOT HAVE AN ANNOYING VOICE LIKE HE DOES NOW AND KNUCKLES IS SUPPOSED TO STAY ON THE FLOATING ISLAND BECAUSE OF THE EMERALD AND WHY THE FUCK DOES SONIC ALWAYS HAVE TO GO SUPER IN THE LAST LEVEL AND WHY CANT THAT BE PLAYABLE IN NORMAL LEVELS WTF GHEY ASS MOTHERFUCKING DICK BABIOESEBH R34UIRYHARGJHGDFSGFGASJH!!!!!!

A++ post. Except for the fact that Shadow is cliche emo-trash and needs to get raped and killed. But otherwise, I totally agree.

According to some source(famitsu i think?) there will be "monster-raising". I have no fuckclue what that means, but it at least makes it sound like SE isn't being TOTALLY lazy with it.

i tried the begin'g of it and it bored the shit out of me. battles are too slow and i hate LOLSTYLUSONLY.

but it got great reviews tho so i guess its just me :(

It's a fun story but the game play becomes repetitive.  The controls were awkward and it pulls you out of the story to spend time trying to deal with it.  I enjoyed it, but I won't play it again.
 
SO I've been playing Sonic Chronicles for like 2-3 hours now, and I have to say, it's not too bad. In fact, it's a bit on the kiddy-gimick side in terms of RPG gameplay, but as a hardcore sonic fanboy, it actually does relatively well in overall experience. My biggest irk with the game is the Elite Beat Agents type gameplay. It's just damn hard to pull off special moves sometimes when crasp just kind of instantly blinks on screen and you're supposed to be able to respond right away with your stylus. Also, it might just be the DS I'm playing with, but it seems that the stylus responses with the in game directions might be ever so slightly out of sync. Nothing too bad though. Anyways, I have yet to really get into the story, but from what I've seen thus far, it's nothing like a Super Mario RPG experience, but it's pretty enjoyable. There's tons of little throwbacks to the classic Sonic games (I found myself smiling after reading a convo between Sonic and Tails reminiscing about the "good ol' days" in the Green Hill Zone and I was pleasantly suprised when I heard a remix of one of the tracks in S&K) and I'm sure there are a million little other things I need to find out as the game progresses. Supposedly, the game really kicks in after the first half; if that's so then I would recommend this to any gamer that even kinda' likes the ol' Blue Blur.
