Holy fudge damn man that is impressive! I can't believe it. Except now I want to know how grass and trees would work? Would you define how things layout through terrain tags and priorities or something?

Also how about when it comes to events? Obviously event graphics are going to become naught and pointless as I'm not sure how you would create a 3D character from a 16 total frame sprite?

I can say this is beyond amazing. You truly do have talent!

Kudos man I take my virtual hat off to you!

ZOMFG!!!(i dont say that offten) dude it was so worth waiting all or yesterday and today for that:) very impressed.

The ability to map so easily is definitely going to draw people in, but I'm curious as to how mapping will work with none-cubular shapes (if at all?). Definitely a step forward, I'm pretty much constantly pressing F5 on the front page of this thread 8].

@ultimaodin: Thanks for the comments. I haven't decided for sure how the mapping will work in the final state. I'm thinking that priority will end up determining the height of the tile (like layer does now, but 3 layers is not enough) and terrain tag will define some other special effects for the tiles. For events, you will assign it a 2D graphics, just like before, but you will also have a 3D model of the same name and in game, it will show the 3D model.

@Fireworksinc: Like I said to ultimaodin, I'm not sure yet how I want to make mapping work. It will definitely be better than it is now, but I am not sure how I will do it.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

I'm even more interested in it now, that you've shown it works with the editor.
No, I know it's maybe too early for that, but I think one of the first thing you should implement is a static camera. One view from would be similar to RMXP (or isometric) and it would only move on one plane, parallel to the map :)

Btw. I think you can already PM me with some details :)

Well, I could do that pretty easily but... why? XD I mean, wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of going into 3D? I mean, if you guys want it I will implement it by the final release. It won't be the first thing, though, because I want to get some of the harder stuff down first ^^.

Well, there's a number of games where camera follows the hero, but doesn't rotate itself. I don't think it would defeat the purpose, as the 3D environment with it's perspective would still be there, kicking ass all around. Also, I'd thought about it only as an option, no the only solution :)

Awesome Bro

Would there ever be a possiblity of having 3D environments, but 2D sprites to accompany it ? Because I love how it's all going to be 3D and all, but I don't think many people will volunteer to create tons of 3D Models for requests etc, because of how time consuming it would be, and we don't really have too many 3D Modellers on the forums, and those who do, would most likely want paying for their efforts (I'm suprised you haven't said anything about paying to buy this, lol.)

wow...this really looks impressive...
simply amazing.

If you need my help with anything, just contact me, obviously I can give you moral support ++++.
Also I'm kinda 3D artist...not the best one...but I do my best.
Some examples:

@arev: Yeah, sure, I know what you mean now. I didn't understand what you meant, and then earlier I was playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and was like "Oh, THAT's what he meant" Yeah, I can include that as an option. That won't be the first thing, though, because I want to get the harder stuff like lighting and post process done still.

@jbrist: Yeah, 2D sprites in 3D will definitely be a possibility. Also, I'm putting together a team of artists who will create a set of art to go with it. Also, I have no plans to charge for this XD. I am doing this as my farewell to RPG Maker, because I won't have much more time to be working with it.

@Fallen: I'll be sending you a PM for sure ;)

@Near: Try downloading and installing the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable Package, Cremno posted it on page 2.

hey i was wondering, when this is done can we move the camera in a event? like here is an example i would like to do. when you open a chest it zooms in a little more and revolves(the camera) around the character, but i want to use this only when opening chest....just a idea i just had.

@lumberwarrior: i already made an fps without this  , but i asked and demonfire says first person'll be the default view.

Cool but will I be able to have guns and other weapon like in a abs script?

You know what, let me dig out my old fps system, and see if i can't upload it. i think it had weapon switching...

so no fix for my error?

@deathbecoast: Should be, but you'd have to do a call script.

@lumber_warrior: FPS will be possible, but I won't be writing the scripts for it.

@near: I never said that FP will be the default view :p I said that you will be able to pick from a few different ones. :D
Also, it looks like you are having the same problem that vgvgf and a few others are having. I am still looking for the solution.
