Let's suffice to say both sides have a point. I live in the US and I stick by that line of reasoning as well, though I'd appreciate it if you were less... Vocal and abrasive about it. I know a majority of Americans really do have the 'we = world' viewpoint, but that's no reason to get all in a huff with every single one of us.

When you're ignorant, your world is small. I believe that'd sum up both sides of this argument.

Man. A lot of you guys got it good. I live in LAke Tahoe and our lowest gas price is $3.59. I think we're highest in California. I dunno if this whole don't buy gas thing'll work.. I think we should all just by bikes and dare I say it... become healthier.

Just because on may 15 your not going to buy gas on my 14 most people are going to full up. There for the gas companies are making almsote double on may 14. It wont hert them.:yes:

Umm....I would....but my work is 15 miles away and I have to be there by 6:00am. I am not going to get up at 3:00am to ride through the dark every morning.

And, I know someone said that oil companies are worse than the mafia (sorry, I forgot who said it), and it is completely true.

Brazil has converted the entire country over to biofuel, which is made from corn. The cars run great, have incredibly low emissions and even get better mileage. But, the implementation of biofuel in the U.S. has been suppressed. You can't buy biofuel almost anywhere and good luck finding a car that will run it, anyway.

Oh, and I am expecting gas in California to hit $4.00 per gallon sometime this summer . This sucks.

Stop crying? You dont seem to realize how big of a deal this really is. In this nation, if it hits $4, man... all I know, is when it was around $2 a gallon, it would take 20 bucks to fill up (at least, my parents cars). If it hits $4, that could take up to 40!! Not to mention, look how many people drive trucks and what not. They have to fill up a few times a week! And counting how EVERYTHING seems to be going up, just making enough to LIVE is challenging enough! This can pretty much cripple young drivers, or people with jobs that dont pay that much. $40+ dollars a week or two, will add up QUICKLY (even quicker if your car takes lots of gas or empties fast or whatever).

A note on something someone else said, we really arent running out of oil... we all know this is happening because the oil companies pratically own America. I believe it was last summer; RIGHT after summer ends, they 'suddenly' discover a new oil place! WOW! How convienate. If only we found that DURING summer! And then gas prices dropped. And truth be told, America isnt using its own oil. While we buy everyone elses and wait for it to be used up, we hold our own until that day happens; then we'll sell it for WHATEVER price we want! We're really in no danger right now. They are just raising prices because they can and giving us made up excuses. Funny how its beginning to go up when summer is neigh, isnt it?

This whole gas thing is complete bull. They are just trying to squeeze every nickle and dime out of us. As if they dont make ENOUGH money as it is!
