Nintendo fucks Europeans up the ass for the umpteenth time.

So. There's apparently going to be yet another Pokémon D/P event in Toys R Us, where Darkrai will be given out.

Yay, the Americans get even more events. Yay, Europeans go ignored like an unwanted stepchild again.

But what really, REALLY pisses me off is that once again Nintendo is COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that this method of event-holding is unnecessary now that the Pokémon games have Wi-Fi Mystery Gift.

Yes, that Wi-Fi Mystery Gift.

The very same Wi-Fi Mystery gift that has gone completely, abso-fucking-lutely unused since the games came out about a year ago.

Makes you wonder why they bothered putting it in, h-uh?

Awesome Bro

Being ignored by the Japanese isn't really something to get upset about, especially over a game. Also this topic is asking for abuse from American members. Get back to your trench and prepare for enemy invasion!

What about when it's the millionth fucking time they've ignored you?

Are you just gonna bend over and let them have their way with you yet again?

And what the fuck are you talking about, abuse? Those Americans have got NOTHING to complain about, damn it. They got Darkrai (several times), they'll get Shaymin, and they'll get THE LORD THY GOD ARCEUS.

What do we Europeans get?

Jack diddly Squat. Unless you count that shriveled Japanese penis up our collective asses.

So I heard Nintendo was a corporation that has branches in America, Europe, and Japan that are all responsible for their own shit.

"N....no way..." you say,...

It's tru.

Maybe NoE needs to suck less. idk?

Y'know, to me it looks like Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Japan (that's what it's called, right?) have a bigger influence on Europe than Nintendo of Europe does. Notice how games that don't sell well in Japan or America often fail to make it over here?

NoE's just a puppet, NoA and NoJ are really pulling the strings.

...

But still, damn it, why'd they even bother programming the Wi-Fi Mystery Shit if if they don't use it?

Has it been used in Japan or America?

I have a feeling it's just an elaborate troll.

aliens....they exist...

No amount of conspiracy theories you're going to put out there are going to change the fact that Europe uses different TV types than Japan and America, requires multiple languages (compared to Japan and America), and thus development costs to fix such things is much higher, as is development time. As such, companies are more hesitant on what they work on. Yes, NoE looks at NoJ and NoA sales, because if something sucks in USA, it's most likely gonna suck in Europe too. It's NoE failing you, maybe you should complain.

Like it'll do you any good, this is the way every company ever works except for the ones who only have a branch in Europe. The way its always been, the way it'll probably always be. C'est la vie.

First of all, this has NOTHING to do with TV types or language issues. I'm talking about a DS game here so the first point goes out the window, and if ANYONE here has used the GTS you'll agree the second point follows the first through said window.

There is no problem with DSs from seperate regions communicating via Wi-Fi, as the GTS has already proved. So what's stopping Nintendo from not only using Mystery Gift, but letting us Europeans join in for once?

I doubt you have a wordy explanation for that.

Oh, and I've tried complaining before. I sent them an e-mail. They sent an automated response in return. So much for that idea.

Oh ffs, shut up.  YOU GOT THIS, which I would like to inform you is next to impossible to find on a retail site that will ship to America.  You got Mario Kart first.  You get A LOT of games first.  You really have no right in the world to complain because you can't get ONE SINGLE POKEMON.

Jesus.

Pokemon events are a joke, anyway, especially for a pokemon which can be caught ingame.

How many people who have a Celebi actually got it at Pokemon Center New York?

(By the way, how did Hotel Dusk hold up in Europe? Trust me, NoA are fags, too -- read up on the Mother series and what lengths Reggie's gone to to ignore it. Hotel Dusk is another good example -- amazing fucking game, but I never finished it because my copy was stolen on a bus shortly before the entire fucking the game was discontinued across the continent -- a month or two after it was released. And yet we have shelves full of new Bratz pet games each month. e_e;;)

There's always the global trading crap thing, just waste several hours of your life to IV/EV-train a salamence or garchomp and you're bound trade it for a darkrai.

Edit: Also yes AMERICA OWNED WE HAVE THE ZELDA GAMEBOY AREN'T YOU JEALOUS? ARE YOU? ARE YOU?

How much you want to bet he's waiting for the good people at the fan translation to get it done so he can yoink their work?

It's likely. Which is why I put my name in the hat and I'll get it the instant I find out.

If Nintendo pulls something like that, they'll have one hell of an underground movement to contend with.

Sorry, but it comes down to markets, and if Nintendo of Europe isn't as keen on one franchise's events as NoA and NoJ, what are you going to do? Tell them how to run their business?  If people in America started whining about all the goodies that NoA doesn't bring from Japan, we could have a nice whine and cheese party here.

Don't like what someone does with their business? Then don't buy from them :) If you're not willing to do that, then don't bemoan- simple as that :)

Except that sort of thing doesn't apply to a gigantic company with interests around the world like Nintendo. Boycotting it because it won't import the Japanese game of your choice is a little like hitting a government building with a wooden bat or trying to bring .ORG down using a program like reloadevery. To get a company to localize things, you show them that there is a market for it -- that the money they would invest to translate and market it in the new locale would be worth it.

"Put up or shut up" is hardly a good policy for a consumer to have. It's un-capitalist.

There's nothing more capitalist than taking your business to another company if you don't like the way a particular company conducts business :)

The only importance of this event is to popularize Toys-R-Us' in general, and I also doubt many people would go to it just for that.

Stop bitching, like Atemu said Europe recieves games usually in advance than the latter countries.

But what if there are only three companies worth noting, each selling a unique product and bearing its own set of flaws?

I'd find another company that makes Nintendo games if I could, but I'm not very hopeful.

'sides, the point I was making is that it wouldn't be effective in the least. Nintendo has a lot of customers, and if their profits dip they won't be importing obscure games from Japan -- they'd be going with their tried-and-true franchises and ignoring the small-games crowd.

Well, at that point you must consider whether the pros outweigh the cons, and if you are willing to put up with those cons in order to experience the pros. It's a value judgment  The thing is- and I don't refer to you with this Chimmy- that once you have made that evaluation and you have chosen, vocally complaining about the flaws is like complaining about a sapphire you bought, because it wasn't a diamond. At any point, the consumer can decide "Nah, this is too much" and leave... but vociferating while holding on to the darned thing is a little bit spoiled, if you get my gist.

Basically, "put up or shut up."

It's a consumer's responsibility to the company and to himself to ensure that the company does not get away with producing a substandard product, much like the way this board works. We're supposed to criticize the games we see here, and anyone who says "hey, if you don't like it don't play it!" is generally booed out of the house.

BULLSHIT.

Brawl. Zelda. Pokémon. Animal Crossing. Need I say more?

1: Three Pokémon.

2: It's the principle. For some reason Nintendo ignores Wi-Fi Mystery Shit and chooses to stick to it's shitty old way of handling events, screwing us Europeans over yet again.

Getting the legends over GTS just doesn't feel the same. I want to go to New Moon Island and the Hall of Beginning and Flower Paradise myself. I want to have a Darkrai, Arceus and Shaymin with my Trainer ID. And I can't because Nintendo refuses to use Wi-Fi Mystery Shit for some reason.

Like I said, why did they even bother implementing it?

EDIT: Plus, you can't search for Pokémon on the GTS if you haven't seen them.

GOOD JOB NINTENDO, ANOTHER FUCKING BRILLIANT IDEA. YOU DESERVE A FUCKING NOBEL PRIZE FOR THAT REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT.
