My Templates/Faces/Charecters/ect. [New] My first ever title screen!]

No offense, that is the worst shading I have ever seen on a breeze sprite. It goes against the rules of shading with any template. You for one, have to large of an outline. You pillow shaded the entire thing on every single frame, your hair has absolutely no consistency or volume, in other words it doesn't look like hair, looks like a giant slime took a dump on his head and the guy went with it. *Total sarcasm*

*sigh* Man, you need to work on your shading techniques, you gradient shade everything you make, that is a no-no, it is acceptable on certain things, but look at hair in real life, does it have a gradient effect? Or does it have strands, is multi colored, and sheen to it? You gotta get that down, it really detracts the quality of the sprite. When you use a palette you need to know how to use highlights, base tones, shades, and the outline.

As for the side view, it looks like he has an afro, like I said before, you need to work on volume and consistency, it needs to be toned down some, man if I had a friend and his hair looked like that, i'd tell him to tame the beast, cause that is just out of control.

Bottom frames, as said before, work with it, the bottom poses of hair don't tend to have a lot of extra detail, but you do need to make his hair move more, in all the frames.

It isn't a lost hope, just try to fix your stuff, because I would not ever take this to Breeze Revolution looking like this.

And please don't think I'm flaming your sprite, I'm giving you cynical comment and critique... If you don't like sarcasm, then I'm sorry, but that is how I C&C. And by the way, Charecter, is spelled wrong, it is spelled Character. And its BREEZE not BREEZY I don't understand why people keep calling the template that, people get the delusions that it is "easy breezy" to work with, well it isn't, it requires just as much effort as any other sprite template.

All of it has bad shading, or only the hiar?
IDK, maybe the hiar can get some work....I'll try and edit it....
I never realy sprited a breeze char before....it's my first one...
and nvm...
it will start a fight...
becuase no one here believes....that..I am blind in an eye....

but ya thanks for the crit!

EDIT: Man, why is it I can draw with good shading but can't sprite with good shading....well spriting is color and drawing is not....maybe thats why...=)
lol.
I need some more sripting lessons I guess...
anyone know were I can find making hair?

Edit: again thank you for the crit...it has inspired me to try harder....
I am like those people that like it to look good for others, but don't cair for it to look good to me...well becuase it's hard to realy notice when it's good...
anyway, I am fixing it now....

but ya if anyone knows were I can find a tut on coloring/making hair in spriting please show me...k Thank you!!

EDIT: I look at some of my drawing and imagined it colored and then I looked at tut of making hair on sprites and i came up with four different styles:

Wich one looks closer to hiar?

plz and thank you!

Your shading on the body is decent, it could use touch ups, but the hair your 1st and 3rd frame came closer to better. I am waiting for photoshop to open to show you an example, but it may have to wait till tomorrow.

If you can wait till mid-day tomorrow I should be able to make you something doing a step by step process.

If you can see grayscale better than a vibrant color scale, I'd say try making your own "stylized" spriting. If you've ever seen the movie Sin City, you notice that important stuff stands out in color where everything else in the world was greyscale. A very interesting movie, especially from that concept.

Try spriting in a greyscale some time and see how it works for you, it would not be hard for someone to color stuff in from it, since they'd have free range of what colors to use.

OK, Xin... Your new 'breezy' sprite. I've prepped a critique for you, that should hopefully explain why you keep doing things WRONG.

See this? This is your sprite, remastered. I even kept the same horrible, horrible lines in the hair. See what a difference good shading makes?
OK, now here are things I noticed.
1) OUTLINES. You don't use them in your clothing, which dulls the colors and just generally looks horrible.
2) Hair. You can't shade hair by randomly placing stuff. Admittedly, I did a real rush job and made the unfortunately standardized plastic hair, but it's still loads better than your version. Follow the shape of the hair, and shade accordingly. But still don't make jaggies or 2pixel lines. Also, hair doesn't make right angles. Your only non right angle angle was a 45degree angle, which also smacks of laziness. As well, highlights should go in a sort of 'halo' around the head. You have hair, right? Look at it in the mirror for me, will you? See how the highlighting makes a halo shape?

There's much more, but those are the two biggest things.

Thank you for showing me that.
I think I get it now.
It's just now it's darker for me, oh well.
That means it's a good thing!
yea!!

Yea!

I have just added a new section for title screens!
I also have put my first ever title screen in it!!!

EDIT: I added a pic of my 2 main characters, sideview battlers, from my game, but they are not finnished.

BIG LONG BUMP!
Yes I have bumped this up just to show it off again, or at least untill I make my new thread of completed works.

anyway, there are no updates becuase this is going to be put away soon.

So go ahead look around, but while you look around do not take this stuff.

Thank you!
