Most hated Video Game character

I'm gonna have to agree with Triddy on the Tidus thing. He was whiny, yeah, it was annoying but well...his situation did seriously blow goats.

My least favorite would have to be Rinoa. I think she wins the award for making me want to throw the controller most often. Stupid girl. XD

Humm let me see...

50 Cent from Bulletproof.
Tails from Sonic The Hedgedog.
Terra from Final Fantasy.
Zidane from Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (ROFTL)

and that's it.

Tidus is fine. People complain about him being whiney, but tell me. If you were launched into a world 1000 years in the future where everything you once knew was dead or destroyed, wouldn't you be whiney?
Auron went through everything Tidus did(more, even), he never felt obligated to bitch about it. Auron should of been the lead, the first geniunely good character to come out of square in many many years.

Auron had no personality, he was bland as anything and only ever spoke on one tone. Auron was to cool for his own good. He acted like he didn't give a crap about anything, only at the end did he show any form of personality.

  • Everyone from Final Fantasy 9 except for Vivi
  • Kimahri from FFX. (just a pointless character with no moves of his own, take him out and the game would still work fine)
  • Cait Sith from FF7
  • The frog dude from Animal Crossing, because he called me 'High Maintenance'

But think about Auron's past as well. For one thing, he's more mature than Tidus. Auron has also been on an adventure before, so in a way, he's used to being away from home.

Tidus is a blitzball star living in Zanarkand and had father issues. During one of his games, Sin attacks Zanarkand and Tidus is then sent 1000 years into the future, along with Auron, though they are separated.

The difference is that Tidus is in shock. Auron probably expected this (I may be wrong on that). Tidus has no idea where he is, and there's no one there with him. He's lonely, which is something he's rarely has to feel because he gets so much attention for Blitzball. After finding out that he's 1000 years into the future, do you know how shocking that could be? That you would never be able to see your beautiful hometown again? And wouldn't that make you worried as to why you were sent into the future in the first place? Tidus' reaction is totally understandable.

Auron has had too many experiences to complain. And I think he expected this anyways because he seemed to know exactly what was happening when Sin was attacking Zanarkand.

The only people I didn't like from FFX were Yuna and Kimahri. Yuna because she sounded like a robot and I didn't hate Kimahri's personality or anything I just didn't like the fact that he was next to useless in battle.

Actually the video game character I hate the most is the rival in Pokemon Ruby. She always talks down to you even when you beat her with one Pokemon.

That stupid cat girl from Atelier Iris that meows everytime she speaks for the WHOLE freckin game. Norn. that's her name.

Come on, Norn was annoying, but nowhere NEAR as annoying as Klane or Lita. I still haven't finished the game because I hate both of them so much. But if I had to pick one to be my most hated character, it'd have to be Klane. I hate his voice so much...

Also, T.G. Cid(Orlandu) from FFT was kind of annoying since the second you get him the rest of the game becomes pie.

To clear up the Auron issue, he already KNEW Sin was gonna attack Zanarkand. Remember in the CGI scene where he picks up Tidus from falling? He asks first, "Are you sure?". He also was the most calm and collected about the situation, since he knew that
Jecht was Sin.
, and that he came for Tidus. Meaning Tidus had a CHOICE. Death by falling, or being sucked into Sin. And Auron promised Jecht to bring Tidus to Spira to be Yuna's Guardian and face Sin. Because he felt bad for the way he mistreated Tidus, he thought that the least he could is let Tidus kill him, for both their sakes.

Also, to add on to what I said in an earlier post, I freakin HATE Cynthia in Silent Hill 4. God I'm glad the bitch died.

80% of Atlus published games are too cute for their own good.

If I remember correctly... Blaine from Pokemon Yellow.

That bastard and his Arcanine kept owning my Pikachu.

I want to say Navi, but at the same time I don't. She's so annoying, but lovable at the same time.

Edit: I also hate Pokey's mom, from Earthbound. Not only is she the ugliest game spriter I have ever laid eyes on, she kills a really cool character.

Tidus didn't "whine" half as much as people make him out to do.

I never really HATED a character... I guess the closest is Travelling Terry (that obviously BLACKFACE salesman) from Wind Waker. He would scream out this poorly voiced THANK U!!! whenever you bought something and GUDBYYYYYYYYYYY when you left. ARGHFL

I think a lot of people hate Tidus just because of the laughing scene. I enjoyed Tidus' character, but even that threw me off a little.

Also, people hate FFX and can't think of a good reason so they just say Tidus sucked as a protagonist with the reason being "He's too whiney".

I don't know, I actually liked the laughing scene. It really fit the given situation. Everything about FFX's character interaction was incredibly awkward; there was this brotherly relationship between Tidus and Wakka, Yuna was always so distant, Rikku was incredibly cheery which was juxtaposed by Auron's calm and wit...

It was DIFFERENT which is why I think most people find it annoying. I guess every hero needs to be dark and emo and wield a 30ft long sword to be considered "cool." He complained a lot in the beginning but became incredibly arrogant towards the middle of the game when he thought the team was invincible and then became rather angry and distant once he learned the truth of Yuna and the summoning process.

Meh, whatever. People are entitled to their own opinions. I have a weird taste in games so I usually clash with other's opinions.
