Meet the New NGP (PSP2)

I do like the improvements they've made, but I just have my doubts about whether this can top the 3DS. The PSP was never as good as the DS in the first place so I'll have my reservations until launch to be honest. Whilst I do consider myself a Nintendo Fanboy, I try to see objectively if this will be able to compete with the 3DS being cheaper and Nintendo's obvious home-grown line of games in Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby e.t.c. Especially with the the ability to have portable Virtual Console.

I like the PSP, and I'm sure the NGP/PSP2 will be better than the original, my doubts lie in whether it can compete with the 3DS to be honest. The original DS made the PSP into a laughing stock sales wise.

All this being said, the NGP/PSP2 does look like it has excellent graphics, I doubt it's PS3 quality as they say, maybe very close but I have my doubts. It's good that they have two sticks now, but is it just me or do they stick out a little bit? That does make them actual analog sticks as opposed slide pads which is great, however that makes this "portable" console a whole lot less portable with annoying sticks in my leg whilst I put it in my pocket.

Like I said, I'll reserve my opinion of whether I can buy it on release it does look to be around $100 more expensive based on the fact that by the time it is released the 3DS will be out for around nine months to a year by then. I did not buy the PSP, because of it's price, when for about £50 more I got myself a PS3 yesterday and with portable consoles, it's not like home consoles, generally, one is enough for me.

I hate it when companies use "next generation" and such in their name. It renders it completely silly when the next next generation comes out. Like Mindstorms 2 being called nxt. It's almost as bad as the overused "ultimate".

I'm not impressed. Unless they're either severely underselling its capabilities (unlikely), or loads of excellent games come out on it, I won't be buying it. Even then, there are loads of psp games that I'd like to play, but that still hasn't been warrant enough for me to actually do so.
