Awesome Bro

I would've posted this but I've been too excited, literally lol... have you seen the Uncharted gameplay, and that other new game? Little Deviants I think?

Seriously this looks fucking amazing, I've been scouring the internet all day looking for info, found quite a bit too, lol.

oh yeah. uncharted looks almost as good as it does on the ps3, and little deviants looks like a lot of fun. i would've linked videos, but gamespot doesn't embed, and i didn't want to search youtube.

I think the touchpad on the back, is a weird design, but I can see it working in so many ways, I mean, developers could map buttons onto it too, in an FPS they could make a swipe of the touchpad reload your weapon, freeing a face button up for something else, that's just an example ofcourse... oh yeah, even though people don't like Call of Duty, they're releasing one for it, which I personally think will be great, especially if it can work with 3G to have proper online gaming.

they're already using it in interesting ways for controlling drake in uncharted, and i think using the gyroscope to aim a scoped weapon is a really nice touch

Yeah, I think it's funny though, people said the sixaxis effect was gimmicky in the PS3, yet in the PSP2, it actually suits it extremely well, especially when you consider the functions it'll be used for... I'd love to see some proper FPS games on it too, they've got Unreal Engine running on it, so I imagine we might even see an Unreal game sometime in the future, or I hope so anyway, lol...

I wonder how many game announcements we'll have before launch...

eveything about the six-axis concept changes when its the actual viewport you're moving around, not just the controller. they have the same type of function on the iphone/ipod touch and the 3ds

and as for fps games, we're supposed to be getting entries in the killzone and resistance franchises, though i havent seen anything specific yet.

Jason

Awesome Bro

Yeah I've heard Killzone, Resistance, and Call of Duty will all be making their way to it, which is great if you ask me...

I wonder if we'll be seeing anything on here that wasn't attempted on the PSP, maybe ethesda could port a TES game... that'd be cool to play while on the go actually, well, in my opinion atleast, lol.

Oh yeah, also:

No gameplay or real picture, but still, I like this part:

"etal Gear creator Hideo Kojima showed a demonstration of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots running on the PSP2, looking almost as good as its console counterpart. "This game used the model data and environments from PS3, and it was exported directly to NGP," Kojima said, adding "On NGP, we can enjoy the same quality as the PS3.""

It seems like it's really easy to port games from PS3 to PSP2, although I wonder if that means we'll be seeing a few too many direct ports of games...

well, the second analog stick is definately a plus. Finally, PROPER camera control! none of this "use-the-shoulder-buttons-to-rotate" shit

even if we do get just straight ports, instead of atleast enhanced controls, i would still buy a lot of my ps3 games again to play them on the go. plus, how cool would a new valkyria chronicles game be on this thing?

Jason

Awesome Bro

Oh fuck yeah you're right lol, Valkyria Chronicles 2 has pretty bad controls, just like every other third person game on PSP, especially Resistance Retribution, you had the face buttons move the camera around which made so many functions either redundant, or just really hard to use. Valkyria Chronicles on the go, with proper PS3 like graphics (The original Valkyria Chronicles!), and two analogue sticks, maybe with some cool new touchpad features, that'd be amazing!

not really, little deviants is new, and uncharted at least has enhanced controls. no idea if its a port or completely new game though.

I'm not sold. Has there been any mention of a price point yet? Honestly, I thought the PSP was a weak system to begin with. While it did have a lot of functions, none of them were particularly great. If I'm getting a hand-held system, I want it to concentrate on what's important: GAMES. PSP had piss-poor game support, there were only a couple titles on the system that would have made me consider getting one. The last couple years they've released more system bundle packs than they have actual games. However, it looks like they at least have a solid release line-up with this system. I'll be curious to see how well received this will end up being, especially considering the 3DS is launching in March.
