I personally think it's not Gino...I mean why supply the heros with all the stuff they need...just to kill them......if you ask me that girl Cade's always mean to look suspicious. XD
BrunoTR;255950 said:You mean Auburn? Nah. The way Sparrow uses his/her split-magic, it has no effect on his/her body. Remember what Baron said about that guy that Sparrow killed (I forget his name)? If he had mastered lightning magic, he would have been able to see in the dark, and also his fire magic would have had no effect in the watery cave. Learning to schools of magic has no effect on your body.
Auburn, however, has had effects on her body. She can walk around Boreal in a skirt without feeling cold.
She does seem suspicious, i'll give her that. But I think, at the same time, what Volrath just said - can someone learn a traditional form of magic and copy? It points to Rayne more because he sought after this power, and Violet we don't know much about besides Mina is related to her. Could she NOT know wind magic? And for that matter, does Rayne for sure know wind magic? Sparrow IS agile, after all.Bean;255978 said:Sparrow's fast. Wind mages are fast. Mina Lolian is a wind mage. Violet is her niece. Violet learns wind magic the traditional way from her aunt, then goes on to copy various other schools of magic from people and becomes Sparrow. Just one out of many possibilities.
If Violet ends up not being Sparrow, I still think she'll end up being an antagonist. According to her bio on the MOTW website, she has a lot in common with Shroud. That means she might also be a wind mage (and may possibly wield spears like her aunt). However, Violet and Shroud have different ideals, which may lead to a duel between the two (assumed) wind mages. I don't think Violet will end up being evil, but someone with a different sense of justice than the protagonist. But maybe this is just me rambling because I'm very suspicious of Violet.
Volrath;255968 said:Hmm....as I've said, I don't endorse or deny any Sparrow theories, but I feel like I should talk a bit about the magic element of the game...to help widen the field of candidates...I like the mystery to have as many possibilities as I can.
Magic in Solest is a lot like languages in public school systems. Most people learn at least one school of magic as they grow up, though they may never use it for anything and gradually lose their skills. Since elemental spells are the most basic sort, most people go with that, leaving things like dark and light for the more ambitious students. The "fringe" magic (i.e. teleportation, illusions, telepathy, transformation, necromancy) is only for the seriously dedicated sorcerer/sorceress.
But what of this new technique which has yet to be named? This ability to copy the magic spells of others simply through intense concentration? Well...hard to say, not much is known about it. Can someone have this ability and learn some magic in the traditional way? Impossible to say one way or another.
Just trying to broaden the debate. By all means, continue.

I mean sure we've never seen her at work, but I'm pretty sure Emma said it rather than Violet saying it herself so I don't think it's untrue. The chance of her living a double life like the heroes is pretty slim also since Sparrow has to move around a lot, more than she could do as well as keeping a job. It's not said how long she's been at Port Arianna, I suppose.
