Man, your improvements are pretty drastic picture to picture. Hands in the last one look fine to me. Just some more noodling to sharpen them up at best, but the form is good which is the far more difficult part with hands.
I'm not familiar with your brand of tablet, as I've only used Wacom. Are you sure you have the brush settings correct in Photoshop for pressure sensitivity? I don't know which setting you want to have pen pressure set to, but make sure the box for that category is set and it's little drop down is set to pen pressure. Sometimes, regardless of version mine resets for no apparent reason. Hell sometimes it just won't work unless I restart Photoshop completely.
@Munk: Hahah I'd certainly like to think I was getting better with each one. Although some are hit or miss. :/ either ways thanks mate! I'll have to keep that in mind. I can never seem to keep the quality of the little tidbits of the same focus of the image. I don't know why necessarily but I just can't. Laziness perhaps?
And yes I've tried that but I get that little exclamation mark [[as the one in your picture shows]] and it means that pressure sensitivity won't register with the tablet in photoshop. At least from what I was reading long long 'go. But I can't seem to understand either. I guess just working with really low flow and opacity can give me kinda the same thing but not really?
Either ways I just tested it and it still won't register. Even browsing around there are people who use the same tablet who can't get the pressure to register with photoshop. It'll register with Painter, Sketchbook, Artrage, and other drawing programs but not photoshop at all. I feel like I'm missing out but it'd probably give me more pen control as well seeing as how I'm rather heavy handed when it comes to my tablet.
So I'm back and I feel the need to update this thread.
I know the anatomy is kinda wonky. :p But thats okay because I was on this trip of not doing any portraits but then I got lazy and decided to go back to my normal way of doing things. Hahahaha.
Anyways I need to work on my portfolio and I need 10 pieces of art. I have 1...
and I can't use anime or things like that! oh noes! So expect a lot of life drawings and things like that until I get into college. Haha.
You're back! Been following your work for a while, and got a bit worried when you didn't post any new work for a while =S
Your portraits really have become incredible, the progress from your first posts to your most recent is really evident. Nereus of Water doesn't contain the care and detail that your portraits do though. Have you ever considered asking someone to pose for you, and using them as a model? Like make a base sketch so you know how you want the painting to look and the pose to work - then ask a girl to pose for you in that way, and position light sources at the angles you want around them - take a photo and then work off of that. Perhaps that'd help elevate the detail in your fantasy pieces some more?
Yeah I had to leave due to personal issues but I'm back for the most part. :D Just haven't fully gotten back into rpg makin' mode so its okay? But don't worry just because I wasn't around doesn't mean I wasn't drawing! Err painting or whatever.

Actually because its more "fantasy" than what I'm used to and I'm forced to work off of my head details are sacraficed [[I'm pretty sure I misspelled that]] for the sake of my laziness. XD And funny thing about your suggestion is I don't mind painting faces from reference but when it comes to drawing off the top of my head I'm the most stubborn thing ever when it comes to using a ref. I feel that I should KNOW [[conceited much?]] what I want and using a ref is like cheating to me. But thats just stupidity on my behalf because even the greats ref stuff. I don't know why thats stuck in my head it just is. :p I need to get over because it'll help me to improve as an artist but still it bothers me doing that. Thats a good idea though. I'd have to give it a try and find some willing models. Hahah. Take an Alex Ross approach eh?
and thank you though! Glad you like the art. I hope they're getting better because if they're not then we have a serious problem! Hahaha.
And yes Namie Amuro is pretty damn amazing like you said. :D
Speaking of which here we go.
In case someone wants to color them. I'd like to see other people's take on my lines so have at it and post it here!
Me and her had a "fling" for a while. Then she got pissed off because I asked her if she wanted to get married someday [[not to me of course!]] because when I first met her she didn't strike me as someone who wanted all of that. So she got pissed and I drew this to show her I was sorry and sincere but it didn't work and now she doesn't even talk to me anymore. But its okay the art lives on. This one was kinda blurry though. Hahaha. I was starting to get the hang of hair though!
This was just a disaster. The initial idea started out great but then my laziness kicked in and painting 4 damn faces at once is way to much strain for my mind to handle. So I cut A LOT of corners and this one fails miserably. :D
NOW we get into my portfolio work! Yay!!! I'm trying to get into Ringling College of Art and Design and I need to submit 10 pieces of recent work before April something so these are two that I worked really hard on so crits and things on where to improve will VASTLY help me. So help me get into college please?
Working on these are making me step out of my "comfort-zone" which is a good thing because its forcing me to try other things I'd never usually do y'know?
My shitty phone and various other things around my computer table. It only looks good if you view the bigger version and I don't want to kill people's monitors but if you want to see the original you can either head to my DA account or tell me and I'll post it here.
Paint fucking metal kills my wrist! I worked really hard on this one yesterday and yeah because of it today I can barely move my left wrist. It was fun but towards the end I got lazy again. Hahaha.
So thats pretty much it. If you have any crits now is the time to be as brutal as you want and help me put somethings into perspective y'know? They're greatly appreciated and everything is taken into consideration.
