Makasu's exploration of the arts!

Well I think it had something to do with my dpi because I did this

and it seems to look okay for the most part. Going off of what V told me I used 8.5x11 and just worked off of that. Its not that blurry so I just mainly need to work with higher res as stated. So thanks for that.

As for my Tablet. I use an Adesso 8600

CyberTablet%208600.jpg

And under the specs it says it works with PS7+ but yet I get not pressure variance....
I've looked it up on if there was a way to counter it but no luck. Everyone that seems to use this tablet doesn't get any pressure variance with PS but only with other programs.

Huh, I've never worked with that brand before. There aren't any drivers you could install specifically for PS?
If you want a cheap tablet that works well, try the Genius tablet. They're only $50 and the pressure sensitivity works with PS fine. I myself used one up until I got my Wacom Intuos3 :3

and about your latest thing, it DOES look much less blurry. kudos! one of her eyes looks lazy though because they're not really pointed in the same direction. I think the biggest thing you're being killed on regarding your lack of pressure sensitivity would be on the hair. The hair always REALLY looks like you only used one type/size of brush the whole time.

I don't think so...I have the only current drivers available so I don't know. Either ways it doesn't necessarily bother me not having the photoshop sensitivity. For the most part. I could just use Painter again and that'd solve the whole issue actually. But I will keep that in mind next time I'm in need of a tablet. So I do appreciate that.

Hahaha I didn't even notice that! Thanks for pointing that out! Whoa I hope my eye doesn't look like that. I have a lazy eye as well. I don't know if she does or not. Its just I couldn't really see it because of the glare off of the glasses so I was forced to try to guess. And I usually draw my fantasy stuff eyes that way. SO that means that I draw my fantasy stuff with crazy eyes as well! And well the hair issue could be that I don't know how to do hair. :x but yeah lack of it is kinda hurting me I think. But gotta make due with what I have y'know? But I probably should switch back to painter if that is the case.

And most of the tutorials that I look at for hair require you to be able to use pressure sensitivity. Because it makes the brushes act kinda in a different way I guess.

I'm having an incredibly shitty ass weak.

My girlfriend ended up in the hospital but was released 24 hours later [[thank goodness!]], I lost my job due to shit economy [[and shitty ass management]], I hit an art slump and can't draw shit correctly, College is way to expensive for me so I'm going to have to try to take out serious loans to pay for it as well as freaking get a co-signer. Yay me. And my tablet is fucking up. Even greater. The main thing being my whole girlfriend thing. Had me seriously scared.

Anyways since I'm drawing shit at the moment I figured I'd just post what I was able to manage to work up. I gave up on trying to do anything special with hair because well its just not going to happen. :/

Avril_by_Sanparuzu.jpg

Everytime I try to draw Avril Lavigne she comes out looking like someone else. This time I see a pissed Kirsten Dunst with a tad bit of  Ian Van Dahl thrown in there. :/ Oh well I guess.

And yes I'm aware that the body is kinda flat looking. I'm to lazy to fix it so this'll have to do. Umm I don't know if this counts as enticing or whatever the case may be so be cautious where you view it in case people aren't to find of sexual suggestions.

Here's hoping next weeks better eh?

To be honest, no body comes here enough to care enough about "might be kinda sorta if you look really hard maybe sexual clues".

You upped the contrast on the face, and it looks 100 billion % better dude. Grats. As for art slumps, if you take out the word art and apply to the human condition, its pretty much true for everyone, in everything.
Just give yourself a moment to rest.

It seems to me like you really hone in on the face, then get super lazy with the rest. Which I am guilty of too, don't get me wrong, you just have to focus more on the rest.

And yeah it doesn't look like Avril but it still looks clearer and sharper than your older stuff!!

@Shadow: Thanks man. :) sometimes I need to know that I'm not the only one with issues. Hahah that sounds horrible. But yay me!

@Masc: Hahaha thats pretty damn funny but she had a black friend long time 'go. Name was Fefe dobsin or something like that. Lil mama can suck it! >:[

@V: Its true. I know. I was incredibly lazy that day. I still am. I'm still learning as well and yeah it doesn't look like her. None of the people I tend to draw look like what they're supposed to. :( I'll get it one of these days. Hopefully.

in the mean time though

Kristian_Kreuk_by_Sanparuzu.jpg

Because she's hot. But me being the shit artist that I am managed to botch the angle. :/ so I just tried [[tried being the key word]] to work around it.

I use completely 100% hard brushes now and now my shit looks kinda flat.

Man I haven't drawn shit in days! I keep drawing things but it looks like ass to me. :( why do I suck as an artist? Either ways so in the spirit of keeping things alive! I'm going to go out of my way to embarrass myself! :) and make some of you feel better because some may think they lack skills.

PICT0244.jpg

I was so freaking proud of it. Hahaha I was like 5 at the time and I think this was one of my first attempts at drawing 'from life' It was SUPPOSED to be my friend Courtney but it looked like...I don't even know.

I hate her nose. She has a weird ass nose to begin with. Hell it even bothers me still to this date. :(

BUMP!

You were 5 in 2005?

anyway it's not bad. Atleast it's not anime. The physics and anatomy of the face are all in mostly the right places.

When I was 15 I sucked giant assholes at drawing and thought I was hot shit, so trust me, you're fine.

Whoops. I meant 15. Lol. Hahaha no it was horrible. I keep it around as a constant reminder of how badly I was [and still am for that matter.]] :[

But see if thats the case then look at you now! You're a freaking amazing artist! So that means that there's no hope for me! oh noes! Woe is me!!!!!!

Hahaha but all things are put on hold till I finish up the secret santa thing. Then I need to get my rear in gear. Learning anatomy correctly is going to be a doosy. But it'll help me improve my more cartoony fantasy shit. Hopefully. :/

Yes it would. I'm currently 18 turning 19 in January. And yes this is late.

I haven't drawn alot as of lately. I barely drew anything the entire month of December actually. :/ I've been wrapped up in getting things for my game done and its taken up a lot more of my time.

Brenda_Bui_by_Sanparuzu.jpg

This was just done as practice so I skipped A LOT of details and things. Plus I got really lazy towards the ends [as usual] but it doesn't matter because I wanted to see if I could still somewhat draw. Turns out I can for the most part so yay me! XD

I swear my laziness as an "artist" is going to be my downfall. :/

Nice work especially on coloring if you can just add more details on it(i notice you always skip on the hair part!), about laziness its normal we all feel the same thing :D .

O_O I don't think I've heard that version before. XD I'm going to have to tell that to my kids. When I have them of course. :)

hah thanks glad you like. And yes hair is one of my weakest points. I get incredibly lazy and I don't have an actual method of doing it. I'm to lazy to learn it and my tablet doesn't have pressure sensitivity so I have to find away around doing it the way other digital artists do it. :( I'm still working on it but I'll get it one of these days...hopefully. But thanks nonetheless for the comment/critique!

You do a lot of portraits, while they are fantastic in rendering and such, I'm very curious to see what else you've got up your sleeves. Other than arms. Metaphorically.

I do. I'm tired of doing them actually. Which is why when the year changes I'm going to focus on different types of art. I want to get into story telling so thats probably where I'm going. It'll probably be anatomy studies from here on out though until then...

I got tired of looking at it so I just decided to end it. I still can't do hair. I know. And other things like that.

Either ways Shadow I do understand what you're saying. And I've thought about it.
