The logo does matter, as some people, despite the saying, will judge a book by it's cover.
And please don't start complaining about our forum.

Having Japanese in the logo doesn't make it look cool. I can't read it, since it's such a bright green, but it's probably not even the correct translation.

I'd just cut it out. Then sharpen up the text a bit and it's just fine.

Why do you think it is in the wrong translation? I don't know Japanese, but I still would like to know about this translation.

As for your project Skeith it looks fine to me. Keep working at it. It's good you are using different characters than the RTP because it's good to see something different.

I'd like to know what skeith actually thinks it says. My kanji and reading's gotten rusty over the years, but I can pretty confidently say that it's either complete gibberish or, at the very least, the English->Japanese equivalent of the Japanese->English of "The move action is action tat is move."

Google translate FTW.
But, seeing most of the opinions on this board, you'd best just cut it out of the logo. It's not doing much good for you anyways.

The subtitle appears to be いは人口の聞
This is without whatever the first character is. I can't tell because of the neon green crap.
Anyways, that translates to something like "the person's mouth of hearing" >_>

If you absolutely MUST have Japanese in the title for some reason, try
ラーヴァッツ ストリー (ravottu sutori)
I don't know what purpose it would serve, though.
:mystery:
In case you were wondering, Final Fantasy logos have the title written in Japanese because the same logo is used in both the English and Japanese versions. It's like that for quite a few games, actually, i.e. Phantasy Star Portable and Monster Hunter.
Sometimes they make new logos without the Japanese text. Sometimes they don't.
Your game is not being localized from Japanese, so you don't have that problem.

I'd also advise writing the whole thing in ONE color. One that does not induce eyerape.

It gets on my nerves cuz u all complain about stuff that doesnt matter. why?
No, see, it DOES matter. The first thing people will see is your game's title, and they're not going to want to look any further if the first thing they see is a neon eyeraping tricolor title with a Japanese subtitle. Even less if they can read the subtitle and it makes no sense at all.

This one I'm pretty sure it's the conjugate between "insert" and "mouth."

Oh, get your mind out of the gutter. "Entrance," not... whatever else you might've been thinking.

See what I mean? I thought this was "gate" but forgot that the pip in the middle indicates "hear." "The (whatever that first kanji is because nobody can actually read it) is the entrance to the hearing," then. Actually that kind of makes it worse

I'd also advise writing the whole thing in ONE color. One that does not induce eyerape.
But you can read it if you use copious amounts of the Burn tool in Photoshop!

... ... ...

Is read "jinkou" and it means "population". Human+mouth = population.

いは人口の聞 ~ i is the population's hearing. In other words, complete gibberish...

Babelfish translates it as "it is, hearing of the population."

Anyways, I don't mind the blue/red contrast of the logo... but I have to agree with everyone else and say the green should go. Really.

If this is one of your first projects, then I encourage you to keep working at it. It's good practice and it'll be a learning experience for you :)

wow, people still post on this topic? i've been on rpg maker vx.net so much. I'm using VX again cuz XP gets on my nerves.
and it doesn't have the right abs I want. in the other website, I mixed Vampyr with Amethyst and got my perfect SBABS, so I use VX again. I'll post the script here after I make screenshots.
EDIT: The kanji was suppose to say "Differences between people"

idk, xp gets more "unexpected file formats" than i got on vx. I got like 12 on xp and onlty 1 on vx so far. vx seems to be easier too.

What kinds of file formats are you trying to use? I mean, are you trying something ridiculous like plugging in ogms where you should have pngs or what, because XP will even work around "oops I put in a bmp" for file format errors.

Check your extensions. Some programs are so picky that even if the format is right, it'll toss an error if the file suffix is wrong.

do u know wat unexpected file format is? it's when a DATA file gets corrupt, its mostly the scripts data file. When i transfer the data, some of my maps are blank. I don't think it has anything to do with resources... it messes me up cuz it wont let me open up the game editor thingy

...No.
An unexpected file format is a file format that is unexpected, i.e. it's trying to load X type of file, but the file is actually Y.

Out of curiosity, you're not doing something stupid like... copying the data files between the two engines, are you? >.>
