In the North Western Continent of Eartz there are two dominant powers present.

In the far Northern regions there is Klendathu. It's people are ruled by king Azores. They possess the biggest Army on Eartz, and are skilled crafstmen and warriors. King Azores lost his wife in a Sepientian Raid several years ago, which fueled his rage against his southern neighbor. His general Decus, is also his royal adviser. His power and hate for Sepientia is almost as great, if in some ways not bigger, then kind Azores himself.

In the Southern Regions is the country of Sapientia, ruled by King Daemarcus and queen Deandre. They possess a smaller army then their northern counterpart, but they have some of the wisest sages, and powerful wizards on Eartz. Kind Deamarcus is the first king in three generations to have offered a peace treaty to the country of Klendathu, and for a short time, it seemed the war was over and both countries could rebuild their cities and mourn their dead. But ill fate awaited the treaty when the queen of Klendathu was assassinated one night on her way back to the palace.

Now the three generation-long war rages onces again, bringing only death and pain to both countries. This is where the story starts.

The story takes place around the 1st year after the peace treaty. Cities were being rebuilt and the dead grieved. All of that comes to a sudden end when the queen of Klendathu was murdered in a Sapientian raid.

You play Lisker, who lives in the village of Aurora near the southern borders of Klendathu. You live a fairly normal life. Untill the queen is killed and the flames of war were rekindled by King Azores and the war reaches the town of Aurora. This forced Lisker to watch everything he cared for burn to ashes.

What would you do if you had everything taken from you in life?
Of course, revenge.

This is why he decided to join up in the Klendathian Army. He cared for no one and nothing but revenge. Feared by both his enemies and allies he battled himself up in ranks until he became captain of the 8th brigade.

He was known for his hate towards the enemy, and almost sickly loyalty to General Decus. Together they won great battles, and earner even more respect amongst the people of Klendathu.  But nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear.

You play the Captain of the 8th brigade under direct command of his Majesty King Azores and general Decus.

In Klendathu's march there is no good and evil. In times of war the thin line between those two fades more and more and Lisker is forced to move beyond that line more then once.Meaning you will not be playing a hero who only has good will, and whom you never have to ask twice for help. You will play a self-centered, hateful, borderline racist personality.

This is the new and 2nd last demo before I release a full chapter. I finished integrating most of the scripts, but there is still a lot of graphical stuff that is left to do. Mog menu's etc, but those will be done for the next demo, this is just a demo of the gameplay you can expect in my releases. And of course I hope you all enjoy it.

Like I said before, I love your maps and use of the "interactive pictures".

The tactic battle system looks interesting too.

I think playing as an antagonist could be interesting... but you really need to know how to pull it off.

Good luck, and I hope to see the demo soon!

PS. I'm really not liking the bright Aluxes head on the warrior...seems too cute and happy...and well the black and orange don't contrast well at all.
 
Oh his head is going to change still, I just made the armor so that I had only to replace the hair =P. I'm still looking for a suitable hairstyle for him.

And as for playing the antagonist, it's war, and each have their orders, of course the fact he loves doing it is a whole different story haha.
 
Is Klendathu a reference to Starship Troopers? ;P

Anyway, I like this project, and especially the art. Release a demo soon, please :)

Well he's all maxed out with super gear, and the monster had like 0 pdef =P. So just wanted to test what the damage and crits looked like.

That damage is nothing, last night I was testing even bigger numbers and this is the result:

The only thing I still really have to do, is customize the Mog Menu's. But I'm seriously lacking in the inspiration department for those. And all the attempts I've done were either too screwed up, or too crowded.
 
Love the pillow fight battle screens. If that's like a battle tutorial, kudos on the creativity, which seems to be a common thing in this project. :> Are the character pictures original by the way?

Nope, those are from Fire emblem, I found them on some website which I credited in my game. I think it was the fe-online one. I kinda sprited based on those pictures. I'm still not happy with my main hero. But I'm coming there.

As for the whole Demo, it's kind of a tutorial in itself, people hardly use items and mind their surroundings, examine barrels etc, something I loved in your game btw, those low calory salad things, best ever.

I just want people to actually examine stuff so the eventing doesn't go to waste. And the really important stuff is marked anyway.

But I'm Glad you liked it.
 
Well, as I stated in the screenshot Thread, the game is coming along fine. But being a one man team all the eventing and editing takes a lot of work.

I made an addition to the interactive objects. When you are in a house you can light the candles one by one. They will light up the whole floor, and you can do the same upstairs and in the basement. And in really dark places like the basement, when the candle is out, you won't be able to see shit until you light it. This means no examining barres for items, or racks for booze =P.

I made a lot of changes to some story content but no big ones.

And after playing Rieves' game Quintessence I decided to put even more emphasis to music in game to set the mood. He did an excelent job. Sadly I'm no composer nor do I play any kind of instrument so mine comes from various places. But I found some really really nice tracks.

I might even add in a skill that let's you learn piano songs so you can learn new songs from different people. And everywhere yo ufind a piano you can play those songs you like.

I never played FF5, I should though I heard good stories about it.

Oh and before I forget, I would like to ask someone's help. I'm having problems with the Mog menu's. I'm out of idea's for them. So I would like to ask if someone could help me make the images needed for the menu's. In exchange, you can ask me for something as well. Consider it some kind of exchange.

I'm a decent Mapper, and I can do some small sprite edits too if needed.

It's a decent game, not one of the better ones. But in the game, there were pianos, and if you played at every single one of them... well, I forget if you get something, or if it just says, "You're a piano master!" or something.
 
Looks promising, the chars remind me of fire emblem (not sure if you got it from that or not). On the off topic note, for playing all the pianos you got the last song you can get for bards.

That will not be fixed, Because that wasn't supposed to be in the demo at all. It was a test really and it wasn't looking good. I'm working on mog menu's, but help would be appreciated ^_^.

Using icons, certain sprites and stuff from Ragnarok Online feels so outta place.
Maybe that's just me because i've been playing it for a few years but meh.
Looks like a solid game though. Mapping needs a bit of improvement, Feels too spacious.
