Invisus

My only concern is that I find it hard to relate to John.
Alas, thats a worry I share. Since the summer I've been trying to sort it out and change the story to allow him to be a more likable person early in the game so the player isnt immediately switched off, but I cant do that without destroying the reason why Marcus wants to get rid of him in the first place. Its a toughie! In the meantime, I've posted again to explain that while Invisus is by no means dead, it is struggling to find its place in the world and so I've laid off actually making the thing to sort out the story. I expect its going to have to changed a fair amount, but any information I can spare I'll be sure to tell you guys about. Also, I intend to update the first post soon with some fairly massive updates. Look out for it!

Interesting story, and pretty good screenshots. But I think you need to revise the meaning of Utopia. But my main concerns are the mapping and gameplay.

Thanks for your comments - Utopia, I thought, fit fairly well. Its referring to Marcus' vision of the Earth. Its more of a name for the first demo - seeing as its Utopian compared to the utter chaos experienced in the later sections of the game. I have been thinking of changing it to Invisus: Retribution, though, to refer to Johns initial mission of revenge, to restore the way of life he enjoys. Or, hell, I could just get rid of the subtitle ;) maybe thats best actually...

And speaking of your worries regarding mapping and gameplay, this gives me the opportunity to plug my Invisus Recruitment topic. I do sometimes have problems with interesting gameplay, so I'm looking for a Fungineer to make sure that Invisus stays as fun as its supposed to be, and has the potential to be. Thanks again for your comment!

No problem, happy to see projects improve. And I am even happier when I recieve such comments to make my project improve in such a manner as well.

I've updated the main topic, and made it a lot more concise. As well as this, I would like to announce that I have three people for me to consult on the writing of Invisus - hopefully this should prevent me constantly rewriting it and actually let me get some work done on it!

Also, I would like to extend the invitation to anybody who wants to know anything about the world hinted at in the topic above, to please ask away about it, I delight in answering questions about my game.

@zenrdy - Thanks! I hope you'll keep coming back when I put some updates up. Is there anything you would like to know? I'll know which direction to gear the topic in then... (Also I like your avatar, it made me laugh =3)

@Erichermit - Haha, well this definately isnt a piece of pro-empire propaganda! *shifty eyes...* I'm awful glad you think its interesting, because so do I (Luckily!)

Finally! I've finished my exams for the year so I've practically got three months to get some serious work done on Invisus. I've decided to rush development somewhat - i.e. at the moment I'm going to be concentrating on making the actual skeleton on the game, and I'll go back and spruce up the graphics/ dungeons/ puzzles afterwards. I'm considering setting up a recruitment topic for help in this area at a later date. In any case, I'd better get back to mapping - wish me luck!

Looks like a fun game. Your mapping is great, and the storyline has an interesting twist to it. I also notice one of your characters has the same name as mine :p

Keep it up, I'd like to see more.

Thank you all for your brill comments! Its proper motivating knowing people want to see some progress. I'm afraid I don't have much to report, except that by the end of the month I'd like to be able to release a short demo showing the first section of the game. Lots of it might be dialogue, though I'm trying to cut down on that, but hopefully it should wet some appetites! If I set myself the date of July 1st, then I'll have something to work to. Look forward to it guys!
