Hay man, I know what you're thinking, "most houses really ARE one room with just a little stuff" and that's true, HOWEVER, our job as game developers is NOT to make the game "realistic as possible" but to rip the player from his or her own world and, even if just for a moment, place them in our world, in our imaginations. And because we don't have the graphics to perfectally convey our imagination, we need to EXPLODE features and details at them. Seriousally.
My suggestions (I'm a crappy mapper, but still T_T)
~I see you're using the auto tile to do the outside edges, which is a GOOD sign, it means this step woln't be hard. Use that autotle and slip the room totally in half, then split that piece in half. Now find you're own creative way to make doors from one room to the next. Make sure NOT to use a warp, but let them just walk from one room to the next.
Also, one last thing, make stairs going up. Why? Because, where's the bed, the toilet, and all that? The basement? ew.... You don't have to be able to access the upstairs just make one "present"
