How many musicians are on RMXP?

I'm curious as to how many musicians there are here on RMXP, so post what you play, how you got into playing it and if you want post your equipment.
I'll go first.
I play the guitar  I got into it when I was 12 and I had to find something to do to occupy my time (an injury had forced me to give up my place on the rugby team which was my usual distraction) so I decided to learn to play the guitar, just because I thought it looked cool and I didn't need to be able to walk to do it (due to the injury walking and running wasn't an option for a while) so I started playing again and by the time I was able to go back to playing sports I was too interested to give it up (although I did rejoin the rugby team) and I kept playing, that was nearly ten years ago now, I even joined a band and met some of my best friends that way.
And I've got the following guitars: Ibanez Iceman, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat (1962 reissue) Yamaha Pacifica (my first guitar )

I play the  drums

...mostly

I've been playing since I was 13. I got into it because, well, really I just needed something to kill the time, but over the years, music has become my life. My first set was an old red sunlight 5-piece kit. Good enough for a beginner. I never actually took lessons from anyone at all, or really watched any videos. I DID have a "You can teach yourself to play drums! :thumb:" book, but after two months, my cat peed all over it and ruined it. So, aside from that, I've just learned through practice, observation, and listening to music (Dream Theater, especially).

I'm 19 now, and I give private lessons, play in a band, gig with random friends, etc. I think the best compliment I ever received was from a fellow musician friend of mine who, upon introducing me to someone, said "I've seen Neil Peart in concert, and I've seen this guy too. And he's not too far behind!" (which is weird, because that's not the first Peart comparison I've had made about me). An exaggeration on his part perhaps, but flattering nonetheless. Lately, I've been doing more lessons than gigs, trying to get some more money together for upgrades.

I also play a little bit of Piano (enough to pick out some melodies), Bass, and I'm learning guitar (wrote my first song on it three days ago)

My drum kit is currently a 6-piece Tama Rockstar, two Mini-Tymps (so 8-piece, really), and assorted Sabian cymbals (there are too many things to label without seeming tiresome to non-drummers, so I'll spare you all the little details)

I suppose a pic wouldn't hurt....

I studied music for 4 years in university, and play the piano, although I enjoy much more composing.
equipement?.. I have an old yamaha PSR-330 keyboard connected to my pc through a midi cable, and in the pc I have a few programs (Reason, cubase, Cooledit, Vegas, Acidpro, Soundforge, Anvil studio and Finale)
I compose most of my music on my pc using my keyboard.
How did I get into it? Dunno, I always liked playing old keyboards I had before, I enjoyed playing songs I heard in the tv or radio, and it was always somewhat easy for me.

if i would have known at the time that every 13 year old kid in the country plays a guitar, i would have just bought a new stereo. but i didnt, and now i have this completely fucking useless skill/money-pit.

anyway, heres my first. it had a tone knob when i bought it, now it doesn't.

this is my most used one tho. all the guitar nerds like to bitch at me about my liking of bc rich's. i dont much give a damn.

i got a few more, but theyre nothing worth taking a picture of.

my favorite instrument is FL studio. making beats > playing instruments

Don't see why people would dislike Bc Richs, from what I've heard they're not bad at all (of course most of my friends that play guitar like heavy metal so....) the one you posted there looks pretty good.

Lemme fix that:

I studied music for 4 years in university, and play the piano, although I enjoy much more spending money.
equipement?.. I have a $300.00 keyboard connected to my pc through a midi cable, and in the pc I have a few expensive programs ($499.00, $799.00, $349.00, $584.95, $374.96, $299.96, Anvil studio and $600.00)

o man that's like $3806.87

at least he didn't say FL. everyone and their dog has FL.

i play plucky string instruments, piano, and soundforge.

I play guitar. Although i've only been playing for about 6 months, my guitar teacher says I'm at the 2nd year mark (for an avg). Sooo yea.

This thread actually already exists, but it's old now so let's give this topic a fresh start.

I don't consider myself a musician but I can play several instruments well enough to get people who don't know the first thing about music impressed.  Bass, guitar, piano, harmonica, and the occasional drum.

Jazz and Classical Pianist. I've been fiddling with my friends Electric guitar ... and I'm trying to get creative musically ... (I've only composed one song to date) I think I'm gonna pick up the Cello eventually though.

I've been playing guitar for nearly three years and I play a little bit of Piano and Bass. I've also played Trombone in school for four years. As well I've tried my hand at composing, but have only completed one song I am happy with.

For composing, I really only compose songs on Electric or Acoustic guitar.  Scales on the Saxophone are pretty hard (jazz scales, bleh) and trumpet is sort of missing the variety.

I've been playing guitar for two years, my dad has been playing for twenty.  He says I'm as good as him when he was playing for about five years.

I play flute, but I haven't picked mine up in years.  Learned a little piano as well, but not enough to actually play anything substantial.

I can write music pretty well, but I haven't actually done so in years.  I mostly use Finale to plug in sheet music I've found online, just for the hell of it most times.

I've been singing (classical) since I was 5, although I didn't really get any "serious" lessons before 8. So one could say it's been 11 years so far. I thought about making a B.Mus. in performance (as a tenor), but dropped the idea altogether now. Composing is much more fun.

guitar. a bit of keyboard and I guess i could play the bass, just with my guitar knowledge.

Need to get faster. >.<

lawl.  I was in boy choir for two years so I guess I can sing.  Forgot about that.
