Thank you ^_^. I tried very hard to balance the battles, I've done unimaginable amounts of testing, and that's what needs to be done to have a good game.
I'll give you the honest answer to the depth of my storyline. I draw a LOT of inspiration from Tetsuya Nomura, particularly the Kingdom Hearts series. Honestly, a lot of the stuff was just vague things that sounded cool, and I just built the story off of those things and tried to make sense of them.
In other words, I just make the game as I go. I know that's not a very good method, especially since I had to redo a lot of pieces of dialogue and events several times because it didn't make sense.
Like I said, I draw inspiration from Nomura. He leaves a lot of open and vague story points, which some people might consider bad writing; but really, that just allows you to more easily make sequels and prequels.
About Zeke, I honestly don't know why he knew about the gateway. That's one of those things that I'll probably have to explain later on, but either way I'll have fun figuring that out. That's the cool thing about making a vague (but logical!) story, I actually don't know what's going to happen. Like the ending to my game...I was literally surprised at some of the plot revelations at the end lol...I'm not kidding.
But I think Zeke was just kind of in a trance by the power of the gateway...that is what I was getting at. I'll just say to not dwell on that part...it probably won't be very important.
But yeah, you'll find out around the last Gate you seal all about Zeke. It's very cool in my opinion ^_^.
