Fire Emblem: Immortal Sword

Fire Emblem
Immortal Sword

Also called FE7x.

There might be a pretty banner here later? I dunno .-.

Elibe has been rife with disaster and conflict for many years, from the ancient conflict of the Scouring to the repeat of the Dark Dragon's enslavement. Some tales are epic battles that scar the land itself, some go quietly, without even a bard's song to tell of them. Twenty years before the Black Fang incident, one such tale went unwritten.

FE7x is a prequel to Blazing Sword, showcasing a number of characters from FE6 and 7 in their youth, including Uther and Hassar, as well as a host of new additions to the story.
Basically, I'm recreating the entire GBA style FE engine in RMXP. This is not one of those no-effort, generic fangames; this is true to the gameplay and spirit of FE. Creating it from the ground up also allows more customization, including adding a fuller class tree with trainees and Skills.
Full FE map/battle/stat system
Numerous new classes added (like 20ish?)
Master Skills for each tier 2 class
New full custom sprites for added classes
Redone spriting for some classes

Oh, so this was the original game, what I can say is that this looks good.

I don't think there is any image limit to my knowledge.

There's not technically a "limit" per sey, it's pretty much your jurisdiction how much you want to put into the post.

Man, this game looks just like a Fire Emblem game, you've really got the details down. I still like those FE games for the GBA better than the console ones. I'll try this out later, maybe some comments too. It'd be cool if you could elaborate on the game a little, maybe give us a bit of character info and whatnot.

Okay, just finished a little playthrough of the demo.

That was impressive! Very authentic. I was surprised at how smooth and fluent the animations were. There's still a few things to work out, but you've got lots of time for that. The enemies were realistic and didn't act like idiots (at least not any more than they do in the actual FE games) and things worked pretty well. Some of the battles took a while to get started but hey, it's excellent so far so I won't berate you for a few minor issues which I'm sure you'll get to.

One question about the battle system. In this screenshot,
Screen23.png

what is all that stuff on the bottom for? I see the little message box that sometimes appear in the black space, but I don't see the point of the four other boxes at the bottom.

Yeah uh, this is really nice, man! This looks and feels like Fire Emblem through and through. I have high hopes for this project, and I hope to see it on my side of the block.

As I responded to one of the comments on YouTube:
The large lower boxes will have the face sprite of the battler, and it'll do some reaction type stuff when attacking/getting hit (Tales of * style), while the smaller boxes above them will show the unit's Skill (Assassinate, Meteor Slash, Luna, etc), if any, and the activation chance.

Now this is amazing work. I really want to be a part of this, although I'm not sure if you guys will be willing to have me. I'm an artist, so if you guys want to see some of my work, here it is.

Still, this is incredible. I'm hoping you guys can finish this off.

I can help you a lot with this.

Want a logo?

I abandoned an FE Project about a year ago, and I still have nearly everything left.

Okay, you're on like every day, how is it that you haven't made another post in this thread? OR replied to the last 2 messages I sent you, BwdYeti?

this looks amazing!

I'll try once I get home, but I"m very impressed with what you've managed to do to recreate FE on RMXP! I love the FE games, huge fan XD yeah, the gba ones were my favorite, 7 was just completely epic.

You can do a lot with RMXP, just not often you see people try.

Some new custom animations going in:
Aran_Halberdier-Lance.gif
Aran_Halberdier-Lance-Crit.gif

Regular attack and critical hit.
Halberdier, the Soldier promotion. Quicker than most classes, but still slower than Swordmasters and Rogues. Better def and str though.

Triforce, send me some examples of your stuff (or preferably an AIM/MSN sn, I prefer talking over IM)

*nods* I love the gameplay of the Fire Emblem games, though I don't own any of them, so I'll be looking forward to seeing this game completed, ^^

Looks good, I have made an FE Fan game also but with Simrpgmaker (A Tactical game maker) but it wasn't as good as this one! it looked like you exactly is the creator of Fire Emblem, the Sprites, battlesystem, overworld sprites etc. I hope I can script... :(

I'll try out the demo later, the internet cafe I'm in to has slower internet. :(

man, this is epic, I played it, you should really add the "Player Turn" "Enemy Turn" Alerts.

There was a bit of lag with the loading of critical here and there, but my computer's faster than most, so that might be a problem for others. (6gb ram & 2.88gh?)

so yeah, it felt a bit slower than the actual FE games, but man, it's amazing.

seriously though, I loved FE, the new one for DS was a major disappointment for me :( but Radiance was epic enough that I'm still happy about it XD

I noticed when I was using a haxed light sword that this won't have a separate MAG stat, it might be better to include it, but the status menu probably won't allow for it, it's good though, not having a MAG means better mages anyways, lol.

that aside, it was a bit sad to see the demo end with nothing :P coulda at least made a little "You won!" display or something XD still, it was really cool, can't wait to see more FE action from this, especially can't wait to read into some of the storyline.

If it's a prequel to 7, then it's a prequel to the prequel? it's hard to imagine how you're going to tie the characters together if they meet for the first time in 7, if you need any help with making sprites or busts, I'm interested to lend a hand in this, but I can't exactly guarantee the time, or the quality :(

edit-

if you need a concept artist, I can work fast with a pencil and I have math class every day so I've definitely got time for that XD
