Final Fantasy XIII-2

huh
10 and 10-2
13 and 13-2

can't wait for them to redo the series and do 1-2 and 4-2 and 7-2 and finally just run out of fucking ideas and close themselves down
i mean seriously they talked shit about no online extras for 13 cause they wanted a complete experience now they're adding more shit to it
:\

they're just milking things for all its worth- mmo 11, ALL that extra crap with 12, now a sequel to 13. At least 10 was heavily agreed on to be very FF and good by everyone, while still remaining to its roots and shites.

they already did IV-2 and VII-2.

wut

fuck how did i forget about the after years. (maybe cause i haven't played it and only glanced at a wikipedia article of it.)

and dirge of cerberus is a sequal i guess.. not a full out one like 10-2 was, though :x (or at least nor imo)

Just to clarify my thoughts, I preferred XIII to XII but never finished it unlike XII, though in honesty that's more due to the fact that I don't own a PS3 or 360, but my brother, who lives about 10 mins from me, has a PS3. I thought XII was sorely lacking in many aspects, the battle system was frankly absolutely horrendous, it's not a battle system when you don't do ANYTHING to control the characters and just let them do the fight for you. I hated that with a vicious passion, it was dull, boring and frankly it ruined what otherwise was half-way decent. It was perhaps too open for my liking, I didn't like how you didn't really explore Ivalice so much as go to point A, return to Rabanastre, go to point B, return to Rabanastre, go to point C, return to Rabanstre et al. On the other hand, I didn't like how XIII was just one long tunnel of bordom. I said I liked linear games Square, but I didn't mean THIS!

XII and XIII suffered from "fatal flaws" in otherwise pretty damn good games. The flaw is more apparent in XIII because of the tunnel but the battle system was HORRIBLE in XII, and generally I just had little fun playing these games because of their fatal flaws.

As for X, it's really not as great as people think it is. The graphics are great, it's beautifully scored and all, the battle system is amazing but the characters are morons, the anime style is taken way too far and this:

Urnngghghghhh........... I hate you Tidus....
I'm so glad you died.

Anyway, I still love playing Final Fantasy X and intend to go back to it again to do another save some day despite it's flaws, on the other hand, do I ever intend to go back to XII, nope. XIII, maybe to finish it if I got a PS3 but otherwise, nope.

Am I still going to by this because I'm a fantard, you bet.

Awesome Bro

I loved the story of Final Fantasy X, although I don't think the story of Final Fantasy X-2 was as good, well, maybe it was, I've never finished it, lol, don't really intend to either...

I LOVED both FF8 and FF 10. Along with 7, they were the last of the good FF's. 12 was horrid, and 13 bombed big time. FF10... wow... first FF in which I spent over 200 hours maxing out my characters. The gameplay, story, characters... and then FF10-2, even though I didn't like how they went about playing out the story; I loved how they returned, and revamped, the classic battle system. Making it the last BEST battle system of the series. The bottom line story was so touching too... though I wish they didnt have that secret ending, because despite how nice it was, it took away from the ending of 10.

I was hoping FF13 was done... at least, with the story of Lightning and them. Because there was not a single character or moment in that game I liked. It failed in EVERY aspect of the world 'Final Fantasy'. Ugh.

I know I am quite extreme, but it was how and all my friends felt. My friend gave up on ff12 (beat it, but hated it) and gave up on FF series completely after 13. The ending to FF13 was like 'annnnnd... should I CARE? Those two characters were the worst among all the characters'. HELL! Hope was 100x better a character than Vanille, so why was she so important? She was annoying. Despite people calling him a whinny emo kid... he was nothing of the sort. He was what? 10? 14? Something like that? How he acted is NORMAL! I mean, geeze. Half the stuff kids go through in games, you wonder how they aren't PYSCHO! He acted completely natural for the situation he was in and MATURED there since. He became strong and determined. He was a growing kid caught up in hell itself! Honestly. Despite that, however, I still just didnt have enough to care. And he was probably the most developed of all the characters...

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut... that is my opinion. I really wish they would just let it die. They knew we were going to hate it before releasing it; just forget about it. And the fact they are realizing it multi-platform and plan to have it out so soon? That means it is a half arsed game. Games that big and collasol should at LEAST be made primarily for a single system first. And whenever square has done multi-plat... it has been a horrible game. Square needs to go back to their roots and stop selling out. Again, opinion!

So no bashing me!! Because I know many of you will disagree~ that is okay! I just hate when people bash me for my opinion (happening WAY too much recently...).

I am very angry at the fact that they are making a sequel. Despite what everyone else XIII is my favorite in the series (Favorite character, favorite battle system, favorite story), but I think we all know that in most games there is a trend. A trend that sequels are never as good as the original. Final Fantasy X, Tales of symphonia, etc. I think they should just leave XIII alone and move on to another project. The whole sequel needs to come to an end and just focus on new games.

I do think that if SE really wants to do more with Final Fantasy XIII I think they should do what they did with Final Fantasy 7. Make a CG film like advent children rather than another whole game.

I didnt think it was like super good or anything but I wouldn't call the game garbage because ive played far worse games
but yeah this game wasn't like super good to begin with and i dont understand how you could make a sequel to something that pretty much cut off all plot points
I mean everyone changed and evolved I hate when developers think its okay to develop an already developed (poorly executed) character. But I dont know. I did like the battle system I just wish there was more stuff and more purpose to it I guess. I mean, everything didnt come together until way later in the game. The last thing someone wants is to play the same thing over. Its like they focused heavy on story in the first part and forgot gameplay and then forgot then half way through someone remembered that they need to put gameplay in the game so they forgot the story and made some gameplay.

I think I am like the only one who liked 12 it wasn't super strong in character development but the plot was interesting enough and I liked the battle system
10 got to the point where battles were super boring and monotonous. Gameplay killed it for me. And Tidus's voice.

I think it might have made a better movie than a game. :3 As for ff12, I think it would have been better if Basch had been the main character as originally intended. xD

You will probably get mixed answers. ;_;

I liked it - maybe not as much as other games, but I didn't find that bad. I found it extremely difficult, but that's because I am a noob when it comes to video games. :X

And I'm so happy you loved 12 to bits and pieces! Same with you bacon. Now I don't feel as alone in this world. *sigh* I like that team too much. ^_^;

Yeah 'cause that turned out so well the first time they did that. I'll say this though Advent Children Complete was so much better than the original. But that's no excuse anyway, if that's the "complete" version, what was the original, the "incomplete" version with massive plotholes, unexplained circumstances and random character direction and development? A half finished product that you thought, hey we can release this now and get some money off those fantards... which they did... Why, why if you know you have a decent product why would you release a half finished version of it. I've spent six fucking years making Final Fantasy fangame virtually by myself, and the only reason I have not even released a demo, aside from taking multiple hiatus' that amount to about 4 1/2 years of that time, is because I didn't want to RELEASE A HALF FINISHED PRODUCT THAT WAS BAD!!! ARGHGHHHHH!!!!
KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I think I'm going to take my rant to a whole new level soon and make a YouTube rant about what went wrong with my beloved game series.

Sorry for the double post, but Wyatt, honestly, if you have money to spare buy it, if for nothing else it's Final Fantasy, it's not the worst game in the world and if you can bear the linear gameplay and no towns. It's actually decent, the problem is there's decent, good, great and the Final Fantasy Standard and it falls way below Final Fantasy Standards. I didn't like XII, I felt it not linear enough, well they sure showed me with the next instalment.

I understand that Final Fantasy advent children was no good, doesn't mean that a Final Fantasy XIII-2 CG film wouldn't be good. I'm not saying that they should do exactly what they did with advent children. I'm saying that they should develop a story as if they were making a game, but instead use it for a film. If they would've make XIII in a film people would've like it because the story was good. So if they put in the same effort in XIII-2 as they did to XIII's storyline then it would be a good CG.
