From what I understand the story has something to do with alternate realities and time. The interview said atlas was created by humans. Maybe something to replace the fal'cie?
The characters they haven't showed probably have a costume change too. Just a guess. I think it'll be a lot like x-2 with freedom in choices and multiple endings. And replay value, cause 13 had none.
