Err... I can't get out of Lance's house, so I can't progress with the game.

Did you even test this thing before you released it? :-/

I'm working on a new demo, which will probable be a little longer. It'll be using the new names, and I'm hoping to overhaul the job system. Also, lance will have a new battler.
 
Have you thought of making animated battlers? Because right now the battles look quite boring because the heroes don't move at all... It's not really too big of a problem, just thought I'd mention it.
 
I have though about it, and it WOULD mean i could use more scripts, but it takes FOREVER to make one battler. As i am planning on making "clothes" battlers, it would take forever x50. Also, classic ff style animated battlers are hard to make without them wobbling...
 
Hey, I noticed the new title screen you've put up using the logo I made for you. If you like I know someone who can make it look really proffessional.
 
The ballon thing isn't a new title screen: it's a sort of Box art thingy, using a sprite from later on in the game. I believe that Euphony made the balloon.
 
Well basically what I meant was, you see how in my title screen there is a glowing white around the Final Fantasy Z and the logo. Well it basically helps the words stand out, and it makes it look a whole load more authentic, if you'd like me to get my guy to do that for you too?
 
I felt i should probably explain the delay in the new demo: I am overhauling several features, and am waiting for permission for a new battle theme. (if you think the current one is fine, please say so, i think it's too quiet, and can't make it any louder :( )
I am also planning on creatng better cutscenes using KH CoM style sprites.
 
Thought i'd better post this before this became to buried: I'll be adding a few more characters soon, but i'm not to sure how that'll effect the job system. When i have them ready, i'll post them.

Little anouncment: i will be putting this project on hiatus for a while. I am working on a small RMTV project that's taking up a little too much time, so rather than just leave everyone hanging i figured i should officially put it on hiatus. This IS a proper hiatus though, not just leaving it there because i don't want to delete it.
 
Okay it ISN't a proper haitus. Yes, i became bored making THOUSANDS of slghtly different emotes for the RMTV, so the hiatus is cancelled. Unfortunarley, i can't release a new demo until i get permission for my new battle theme.
 
I know the demo has been a long time coming, but 'm not going to rush it. ATM, I am working on the database mostly. Now that fixed classes are looking like they're going to be used, I need to ifgure out how to distribute skills. I'm thinking of an aproach similar to FFX and KH, where everyone learns all the skills, but some later than others, but in the case of blck magic, peraps certain spells for certain people. Nimue will be the only blue mage.
 
You could do Jobs and Sub-Jobs, not FF11 style but like one permenant job that learns all the skills of their own class whilst their sub-job allows them to learn skills from a job other than their own but not to the full power that they would if it were their permenant job: EG:

Seth is a Swordsman and has Black Mage as his sub-job.

At Lv. 10 he's learned all the skills a Swordsman can learn up to Level 10 but he's only learnt the standard skills up to say level 5 or 7 with a black mage. This would make it so that he would be levelling up and learning skills slower or not even at all.

EG He could learn Fire and Fira, but not Firaga (Or Firaja if you're going to include that in the game).
 
Yes, i was thinking of doing it that way, but keeping more with the element's of their personality, so lance would learn the Fire skills, Seth maybe the earth or wind ones. Summons will be orbs that you use to teach a skill to one characeter, wich is why i'm promotng Eiko to a permanent char. this is beacause i want to make summons a more Normal occurence. Some bosses will be using summons although mostly they'll be the ones that drop the orbs.
I don't really want a freely changing job syste, like FF3 or 5, so I won't be using it at all.
 
Well it's up to you, but you should try and think of a way to make the skill learning process a little more special rather than just simply, he learns this, she learns that.
